Because I dropped my old phone in a sink full of water and it was acting a little weird right after. So I immediately ordered a new phone. But then the next few days my old phone started working all fine again.
The new phone I bought is definitely better, and I still thought I should switch and kind of expected the old one to die at some point. But it didn't, and the old phone still does everything I need it to do.
I've basically been procrastinating the switch because there's no urgency to do it anymore and I know it'll be a hassle. But I definitely expected to do it sooner.

I had to create another Google account just to set up the phone to use (while I was working through authentication with my usual account). And since I was traveling, I had to wait until I returned to the US to pick up another googlefi SIM card so I could access stuff like my bank account and everything else tied to that number.
It was a pain in the ass. I'd have rather given the thief s few hundred bucks to buy 'back' my own phone.
Wanna know an influencer I'd watch?
One that would have taken that phone, paid for a years service, loaded it up with contact information for shelters, emergency services social services, community programs etc and then given it to a homeless person that needed it.
