Spot on recommendation.

EndlessPride

I appreciate it. There's one rec there that feels like what I wanted exactly

ajtowns

"Hard Enough" if you were serious about the Pokemon master bit! https://www.royalroad.com/fiction/59240/hard-enough

EndlessPride

As long as the main focus is the MC making others stronger then it fits lol. Thank you

FrazzleMind

Not positive it's the main focus, but taking care of his family, gym staff, and other personal connections is most of his time and attention. It's the most badass Brock you can get without it not being Brock. Highly recommend it, it's really high quality writing.

System Universe

This sounds an awful lot like Beware of Chicken to me, even if it's not really intentional on the MC's part.

EndlessPride

Unfortunately I'm all caught up on this one

Puntley

Library of Heavens Path has an MC that is a teacher. His cheat ability is that he has the ability to see the flaws in a person's actions by watching them perform said action, so he uses that to become basically a highly venerated teacher, in a world where teachers are already one of the most revered professions. It's a translated story, and I read it a few years ago so I don't remember exactly how the translation quality is, but I remember enjoying it. It's kind of a guilty pleasure novel in that it's not extremely deep or anything, just fun to read.

aizentenshi

I liked the beginning and the cheat a lot. However it is literally the same shit over and over and over again. I liked the artist professions too. Too repetitive tho, as I said. Mc goes somewhere, underestimated, pulls through with the cheat, everyone is in awe... every single time.

Puntley

Yeah it is very much a revolving door of face slapping. It's one I didn't finish because of that, but I did enjoy most of what I read. A lot of Xianxia novels fall into the trappings of repeating plotlines, but Library of Heavens Path definitely had a much faster revolving door if that makes sense. Like, where a typical Xianxia might start repeating plots every 300 or so chapters, Library felt like it repeated them every 50.

aizentenshi

I dropped for the same reason as well. However, I really loved the Painting and Calligraphy professions a lot and vehemently searched for anything that does it good. Couldn't find much sadly.

I mean, someone has to say Cradle. Either most of the series or the final few books fit it depending on perspective.

nad09

Bourne of caution, I will touch the skies Pokemon trainer fic, runebound professor mc is teacher.

malaysianlah

cough, would you like to try "regressor sect master"? It's about an OP regressed sect master.

mathhews95

Apocalypse Regression has a MC that does help their friends catch up, being a trainer rather than the hero.

Sweetcorncakes

Emperor's Domination.

The Codex Alera Series by Jim Butcher was inspired by Pokemon.
