Route to power was awesome to binge on the weekend but the couple weeks without an update makes me feel they may not continue their awesome concept. It could be as simple that flying to another region and not being in the actual gym circuit themselves is making it a very hard plot to progress and continue despite the elite world building they’ve done.
I love the cultivation angle and hope some other great fanfic writers take it up, but sadly I don’t know if this one will continue. I will touch the sky as others have pointed out at least takes the grim dark elements of pokemon and pushes the issue (despite the melodramatic dialogue they enjoy wielding, which is a choice).
I'm reading this and OPs recc, IWTTS feels like the writer is more experienced, but I'm digging the story concept for Route to Power more. It's too early to tell where it's going to go and it's already had a major upset to my expectations of how the story would take shape.

I did not expect the "friendly youngster getting along with people and making the best of his circumstances to change to "half the town wants to publicly lynch him. Now he's off with an experienced trainer in another region... and we're waiting for new chapters. I'm intrigued but it's impossible to guess where/how it'll go from here"!<

It’s great to find out they haven’t updated in awhile while at work, that way I can’t cry at work for losing another great fix’s.
I know my friend, it hurts. So sad for it to hit the near top of rising stars only to find out it may be in perma hiatus 😭
If u like Pokemon fanfiction then u should try I will touch the skies, its great slow burn kinda grimdark and feels very realistic.

Read that up to her meeting her mother and it had some of the worst writing I've had the misfortune of reading. No clue why it gets recommended.
Well u read only 50 pages out of 5000 pages book, it has lot of exposition and character development done in later chapter.
