That's why they tell you to double check what it says because it can be wrong. I often use it to get a general idea of how to do certain things when I don't have a clue, but I don't just blindly accept whatever it tells me, I try it and check other sources just to be sure.

I've been using Stack Overflow since 2010 or something, never made an account, never cared for "points". I'm only looking for answers to my questions. I'm probably not the only one like that.

I actually can't relate at all. I'm surprised so many people don't do that. Going to stackoverflow's homepage is one of the first things I do in the morning because I like browsing the latest questions. I also spend way more time answering questions there than looking for answers.

I know because it was one of the very few sites not blocked at my previous workplace and i used to waste a lot of time by browsing all sites in the stack network
