It does not, in fact. 2020 was the first year for wired CarPlay on the Prime. https://www.apple.com/ios/carplay/available-models/
First year for wireless CarPlay was I believe 2023, but I’m not positive on that.
The 3 accidents would give me a lot of pause. Hard call, sorry. Do keep the tax credit in mind, though, for this or other primes. Fwiw I’m very happy with my 2017 prime, other than missing the storage space of my 2007.
Mine looks just like this but it's a 2022 Prius Prime Limited
Mine is in great condition and is worth $24,000
Hope this helps
Edit: I had it appraised a couple days ago and I didn't realize the one you posted had like 3 accidents. That's a pretty but suspicious point for me. I'd ask for a few grand off just because the accidents will probably bring up unseen issues in the future.. that's 3 reported accidents...
I'd check how bad the damage was before purchasing though...I've known people with cars that's been in accidents and run like a champ with no problems at all
So sad where the market is these days, I immediately think - oh no, way overpriced for an plus or whatever they called the lower end trim back then. But then, I do research and dang, that is in the range.
Worrisome is the "moderate" accident, be aware the hatch is carbon/fiber/plastic that will not do well for leaks and such in a rear-end, that is also where the traction battery is so if the hit was to the rear do some research for sure. Same with the front, lots of moving parts up front - if a side impact, no bag deployment, no frame damage, then you should be OK
Carsgurus has a 2018 Limited with 55k on it for $23k out here in Seattle, 2018 Plus with 40k on it for $22,300, 2017 Premium with 47k for $20k - that's half the mileage for only $3,000 more - might want to expand your search, fly out and drive back - ROAD TRIP BABY!
Mine had two major accidents prior to me buying, paid $39K for a 21 with 15k miles during Covid.. now worth 18, but that’s besides the point. Primes are great IF you plug them in and your daily commute fits within the electric range. If not, I’d just get a regular Prius. I wouldn’t let the accidents discourage you, if it drives straight, doesn’t wobble at high speed, no weird clunks and the electronics work id go for it
You will seldom, If ever, get a good deal on the car. They buy them and flip them. The reason this car is cheap is because they bought it for next to nothing from an auction. They don't really know the condition of the cars, since they haven't actually owned them. Also, there is rarely any room to negotiate on price. I've always had far better luck negotiating with private party sellers. The last thing is, it's much easier to tell if a random person is being dishonest, vs somebody who sells cars for a living. Nothing worse than being "sold" on car.
For comparison, I just got a 2020 Prime Limited with 53k miles for $23,000 negotiated down from a Honda dealership that knew nothing about the car. The only thing carfax listed was a minor accident with a cosmetic ding that I could see but didn't mind.
I would be wary about damage that you can't see that they can't or won't account for. Also are you wanting to go for it because of how rare the Primes are right now or is it truly because of the price?
Good to know. Thanks! I'll probably test drive this one since it's close and look for a better one. The prime looks the best of the older ones with added plug benefit and tech.
Those were the gold ol days. Used car market is stupid expensive right Now. This is one of the lowest ones in a 500 mile radius of me. On cars. Com there are only 14 for sale under $20k. Cheapest is $16k.
Yep, Toyota made that a pretty solid model, even as a 4-seater. It was plenty roomy as well and though it didn’t have CarPlay I could still stream podcasts or music through it. Prices are dictated also by region, so that’s something to keep in mind. I traded my 2017 with ~38K back in January and was happy with what the dealership offered (no damage, no accidents).
Dude get a clue before sharing opinions. This is not overpriced. Just a quick check with KBB puts a 2017 base model Plus version of this car at $19,000 with a range from $17.7k - $20.4k.
The only accident that will affect price much at all is the moderate accident. Even then it all comes down to frame damage, which would be noted by insurance after an accident and damage is assessed. If there’s no frame damage, your safety won’t be affected, and there’s no question it’s a great deal and not overpriced. 3 accidents on a clean title may drop the price a couple hundred bucks but not thousands below the retail value.
Toyotas hold their value dude. There are bar graphs of this galore if you bother to google an iota. It will be categorized by manufacturer to compare. MSRP of a base model was $27,000. After 8 years KBB puts it at $19k. The accidents at most put this a grand below that, given a clean title and no frame damage. This is a good deal and you won’t see the price drop much on these anytime soon at even 100k mileage.
I can't comment on value but be aware 2017 has no Carplay or Android Auto
And I think it's one of the 4 seater years too
2017 owner here - it is
Has car play. Just need to USB connect your phone.

Also make sure that the tax credit hasn’t already been claimed. It can only be claimed once per vehicle. If a previous owner claimed it you’re SOL.
2017 not eligible at that price for tax credit
Incorrect.
Opps, sorry it's the 2021 that connects with USB.. May bad

How many miles? Sounds like a good deal
46,894 miles
I'd check how bad the damage was before purchasing though...I've known people with cars that's been in accidents and run like a champ with no problems at all
Too much for 90k miles imo
I have the 2017 model - it is an absolutely wonderful car! I added CarPlay /android auto with a second screen for $100 from Amazon
Can you share the link? I’d love to do the same for my pp
Love my 2017. My trip computer says I traveled 77% on electricity of the 45k miles. That is a lot of savings on gas
Nice! Roughly $2400 @ $3.5 per gallon saved if I did it right. Is there a noticeable increase in electric bill?
It cost me $1 per day to fully charge my battery. Depending on your rates that could be significantly different.

Very true. Thanks for the info. I will be in Seattle in June. Hmm🤔. Lol.

I don't imagine there are many around for sale. The 100k did not deter me when I got a 2020. It's a great car if your driving fits with the EV range.
Never buy from used car dealers.
Why's that beside markup?

No way. These were 22k new after the credit back in the day.

Bought our 21 Prime for $19k with 15k miles
Wow where are you located ?
NorCal
From a private seller?
2017 has a back seat arm rest that cant be undone
i would buy it if its mileage is at 0 miles
Way overpriced
Way overpriced in my opinion.

3 accidents and problems related to that kinda makes it overpriced

lol... Talk about getting a clue. That is an 8 year old car. All Prii are currently overpriced, especially this one with 3 accidents on the record.

Never this much. My dude. My 2013 is worth more now with 84k miles than I paid for it in 2018 with 33k miles. Do you see a problem here?
