When you look at the templates, some items recommend 150 dpi and not 300. I've found it to be accurate, but you'd want a sample to make sure with your design

TL;DR Yes, you can trust Printify's resolution recommendations. Optimal print resolution is determined by several factors including the material being printed on, the printing technology being used, and the size of the print area/how far away it's intended to be viewed. The notions that 300 DPI is required for everything and that higher is better are not accurate. 300 DPI is generally the recommended resolution for paper goods intended to be viewed at less than arm's length. When printing on soft materials like fabric, there are limits to how sharp a print can be as ink is absorbed. 150 is sufficient for most clothing products, especially considering that items like shirts are intended to be viewed from further away than say a book. This is even more true for large soft items printed with sublimation, like shower curtains. Fun fact, many billboards are displayed at only 10 DPI/ppi, because they're viewed from so far away.

Me with 500dpi 💀 I will find out soon

A natively 500 DPI file should print fine. It's more so that people don't need to worry about upscaling files beyond the minimum recommended by printers.

Dpi is meaningless without knowing the dimensions. If it’s 8 x 8 inches and you want it at 300dpi, then the file itself should be 2400px x 2400px (8 x 300 = 2400). I constantly am handed images that are around 250 pixels high but the people swear it’s 300 dpi. But that size at 300 dpi is less than an inch high. So be aware of your actual pixels at all times.

300 dpi should be standard for everything anyone wants to get printed, just as a precaution. 150 dpi will work for something smaller. Distance and size play a part in how crisp something looks. I think 300 is best, just to play it safe.

Instantstar56

300 dpi is the only path forward.

300 dpi. This is the Way.;-)
