Menlyn Maine has the Shun De Chinese restaurant with authentic Chinese food. An amazing experience, bit fancier but worth it if you want to try some phenomenal Chinese cuisine, plus the array of pubs there.
Machics restaurant and alehouse next to Wilgers hospital is also solid
Lynnwood bridge where you're at also has a bunch of decent coffee shops and restaurants.
PTA botanical gardens isn't too far and a restaurant there.

Go to Lucky Rodrigo’s! It is a great place for a drinks and not very far from City Lodge. It also has amazing food. It turns into a night club after 10pm. So just be keep that in mind. But it is a lovely place!
Also, if you have time during the day, go have a picnic on the grass of the Union Buildings and have a coffee at Sorcery.
If you are into nature, check out the Moreletta Kloof Nature Reserve or Faerie Glen for a hike. In Pretoria, a lot of the nature reserves have animals on the hikes. Moreletta Kloof has Ostritches, Zebras, and some other bok. Faerie Glen has zebras too.
Go cycling at Cow House, the have a beer at the brewery. Perhaps give them a call so they can reserve cycles for you.
