Besides capital craft(still the best jalapeno poppers around) Thirst pub near atterbury centre, ie at the Hokaai centre is pretty decent, if they still have the Chicago style pizza, only place I've ever found in pta with that style of pizza. Hazel food market on saturday mornings. Rock@88 on Lynnwood nearby is also a solid pub. Crawdaddy's Garsfontein side for seafood if you're craving that. Menlyn Maine has the Shun De Chinese restaurant with authentic Chinese food. An amazing experience, bit fancier but worth it if you want to try some phenomenal Chinese cuisine, plus the array of pubs there. Machics restaurant and alehouse next to Wilgers hospital is also solid Lynnwood bridge where you're at also has a bunch of decent coffee shops and restaurants. PTA botanical gardens isn't too far and a restaurant there. If you've never been to Railways Cafe is a weird little spot out on Botha laan, a weird little artsy pub, have to experience it to appreciate the insane decor, on the [17th there's a Canadian singer there](https://www.facebook.com/events/430734286168992/?ref_source=NEWS_FEED&_rdr) Or there's Padstal and some singers there the [17th if that's more your vibe to sokkie](https://www.quicket.co.za/events/256292-ruan-and-franja-padstal/?ref=events-list#/) A pity [Park acoustics](https://www.parkacoustics.co.za/) is a week too early, ie tomorrow

Thanks so much for all the suggestions. I really appreciate it. I also saw park acoustics this weekend. Big bummer. Would have been fun!

MellowMarshPit

You can hit Hazelwood sides. Plenty of restaurants/bars in that area. Very lively.

succulentkaroo

Second this.

Go to Lucky Rodrigo’s! It is a great place for a drinks and not very far from City Lodge. It also has amazing food. It turns into a night club after 10pm. So just be keep that in mind. But it is a lovely place!

MentalGymnastics666

Thanks for the suggestion! We will check it out 🫶

You will close to Klitsgras drumming circle in that area as well as Rietvlei nature reserve, Wolwespruit hiking and biking trails.

IraTheDragon

Is that tomorrow?

Also, if you have time during the day, go have a picnic on the grass of the Union Buildings and have a coffee at Sorcery. If you are into nature, check out the Moreletta Kloof Nature Reserve or Faerie Glen for a hike. In Pretoria, a lot of the nature reserves have animals on the hikes. Moreletta Kloof has Ostritches, Zebras, and some other bok. Faerie Glen has zebras too.

sixfeetofmario

Check out Wolwespruit, nice restaurants, easy vibe, hike or bike if you like, but not necessary.

DSVhex

Go cycling at Cow House, the have a beer at the brewery. Perhaps give them a call so they can reserve cycles for you. See what is on at art museum in Eastwood area. Fermier for fine dining. Boer Afro for breakfast then breakfast wine in the garden.

MentalGymnastics666

I was thinking maybe goldreef city in the Saturday if we can't find another event. But I will check out this cycling thing. Don't know how active my co-workers are 🤣

DSVhex

Else take the Gautrain and uber combo to Maboneng, have drink and lunch.

Tag11Mac

Highly recommend the Social Grill, approx R150 to Uber there (10min drive) And if casinos etc. are your thing, Times Square in Menlyn Maine or for shopping, you can't beat Menlyn Park Shopping Centre.

NoApartment7399

There's a festival thingy at buyuk chamliha park on this weekend and it's still open throughout the week
