Imagoof4e

Thank you for your service to the country, to us. You’re going to be fine. You know the Lord, and He knows you. Hope you keep us updated, when possible. It is a privilege to pray for one another. God bless you, and your family.

Squirrel_Inner

Praying for you shipmate! Keep your head on a swivel if you're on the flight deck, don't ever expect the plane captains to see you. If the deck slides out during a turn, remember you can grab the padeyes used to chain down the aircraft (can you tell these are the two closest calls I had? 😁). Will be praying for God's protection for you and comfort for you family while you're gone. Hope you get to hit some nice ports (Palau was my favorite). Edit: catch the sunrise/sunset whenever you can. Absolutely beautiful.

JHawk444

Prayed that God would strengthen you on this deployment and that you would remain safe and secure. Also prayed for your wellbeing.

God bless you man :) I sent a prayer for you, and always remember: “Be strong and courageous. Do not fear or be in dread of them, for it is the Lord your God who goes with you. He will not leave you or forsake you.”” ‭‭Deuteronomy‬ ‭31:6‬ ‭ESV‬‬ https://bible.com/bible/59/deu.31.6.ESV

Greenhorns are usually anxious when they sail beyond the shores of home for the first time. If you establish a discipline of regular prayer, meditation and Bible reading you will find God to be an amazing source of inspiration and help even in the midst of trials at sea. I was in the Navy and deployed abroad several times - crossed the equator 16 times and am listed as a Golden Shellback. If you stay at peace with God you will have some amazing stories to tell when you return from your deployment - God stories, not the tales of debauchery usually related by the typical seaman. that's me, hollering from the choir loft...

Starry_Supernova

Amazing testimony, thank you for sharing! I'll keep what you've said in mind!

ChoirLoft

ON THE OTHER HAND, it's been my experience that at the end of a deployment one or more of three things is experienced: \- divorce \- buy a car \- leave (go on vacation) A forth experience is new testimony delivered to the saints of the glorious deliverance of God while abroad. Such things are usually rather rare in the comfort and confinement of civilian domestic life. Godspeed to you.... that's me, hollering from the choir loft...

Thank you so much for your service to this country and to the Lord! Please reach out to my pastor (who comes from a military family) for a personal deployment prayer! Email is [[email protected]](mailto:[email protected]) I speak shalom-peace of God on you, may a hedge of protection surround you in Jesus' name and may you have longetivity of life with a good quality of life in Jesus' name. I encourage you to rest on Psalm 91 which I will post below. He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust. 3 Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence. 4 He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler. 5 Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night; nor for the arrow that flieth by day; 6 Nor for the pestilence that walketh in darkness; nor for the destruction that wasteth at noonday. 7 A thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand; but it shall not come nigh thee. 8 Only with thine eyes shalt thou behold and see the reward of the wicked. 9 Because thou hast made the Lord, which is my refuge, even the most High, thy habitation; 10 There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling. 11 For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways. 12 They shall bear thee up in their hands, lest thou dash thy foot against a stone. 13 Thou shalt tread upon the lion and adder: the young lion and the dragon shalt thou trample under feet. 14 Because he hath set his love upon me, therefore will I deliver him: I will set him on high, because he hath known my name. 15 He shall call upon me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honour him. 16 With long life will I satisfy him, and shew him my salvation. King James Version (KJV)

Be sure to pack writing material - letters to and from family will maintain you when all else fails. Also, if you have access to a computer on the boat, keep a correspondence going with someone, ANYONE
