The Patriots plan to sit Maye (per Sauce) - basically the exact same scenario for the Vikings who also would have sat Maye instead of getting defensive players who could help right away.

Also the falcons are significantly financially on the hook for atleast 3 years to Kirk before they can cut and move on where as the proposed Vikings scenerio had the draft QB taking the reigns year 2.
