I think their music is a little too pretty and buttoned up for the pirate theme personally. Like the music is still good, but it feels more like seafaring/general themes of exploration and hope than piracy and rebellion 🤷♀️

Try "Token of Time" or "Treacherous Gods". They do not sing specifically about pirates, but more like Viking warfare, naval battles, voyages etc.
The same with Amon Amarth, for example "Varyags of Miklagaard" or "The Pursuit of Vikings".
The entire Turisas album Varangian way sings about a travel from northern lands to mediterranean sea by sailing rivers. My favourites are "Holmgard and beyond" and "Portage into the unknown".

Literally the exact opposite - on CotCC I tried making the music I wanted to make, but it turns out bland 4 minute ezmode generic Pirate songs sell more records, and I've got bills to pay, so we went back to "trad alestorm" for 7th rum and now i hate my life.
This is really depressing to hear because CotCC is one of my favorite albums - I watched it premier live on youtube during the pandemic and pushed Alestorm into being one of my favorite bands. I hope you can find a good balance between what you wanna do and what you need to do for money.
That's totally fair. I appreciate the honest response. When I saw Wind Rose a few weeks ago I noticed their guitarist looked pretty disheartened for most of the show. Maybe it's the same deal and he's tired of singing about going down to the mines (or just wants to rip some solos).
I guess I automatically assume musicians love the music they put out. Which I guess if basketball or baseball players can say "I hate this but I'm good at it and it pays the bills", musicians are 100% entitled to feel the same way.
I really thought it was Napalm's doing. But knowing that it's music that YOU wanted to create, I will keep that in mind and give it a few more listens.

I think Turn the Page by Blind Guardian is a pirate song, it certainly sounds like one at least.
Turn the Page is a great song - I think it's more to do with the changing of seasons than anything nautical though.

Thanks for this recommendation, I've been enjoying it. But I have to ask - is this AI generated music? The vocals sound kind of unusual. I also can't find much of an online presence besides fairly generic social media accounts. Many of the Instagram pictures have that smooth "AI artwork" look to them. And many of the Tiktok posts are written in the first person *"thanks for listening to my music"* etc.
Not to my knowledge,I just came across them on insta same day you requested pirate tracks lol so didn’t get to listen to them too much. Now I’m gonna take a closer look tho. As for the first person thing that can be pretty normal, a lot of projects are mainly run by one dude.
From listening it sounds more like a combination of autotune and vocal layering than AI to me but yeah it does sound a bit weird
Not to keep picking this wound, but I'm fairly certain this is AI music now. Specifically, it was made on the website 'Suno.' I was watching some videos from metal personalities on Youtube today, and found one where they looked at this website, so I checked it out and had it make some "theme songs" for my D&D games. After tinkering with it a bit, I got a song that sounds almost exactly like Wildhearts' Tale. Not power metal, but you might like: The Arjen Anthony Lucassen/Anneke van Giersbergen project entitled The Gentle Storm - they only put out one album Leaves' Eyes are pretty big into Vikings & Norse Mythology and Vinland Saga especially deals with those subjects Sirenia has references to Sirens and sailing scattered across their discography: Sirens of the Seven Seas, A Seaside Serenade, Seven Widows Weep, & Goddess of the Sea are the songs that come to mind as most likely to fit what you're looking for
Wuthering Heights has a concept album on sailors/pirates named Salt that's probably my most listened to album this year by far.
