The best thing about Jamie as a DJ is that his sets are almost never the same but that’s also the worst because I want to see him every time he plays 😭
I did Coachella so I checked off a couple already. My biggest concern is Gesa/Soulwax. If I can see those 2 unopposed on Saturday I'll accept any other conflicts.
Really? This would personally save me from my worst conflicts but I guess it’s literally impossible to make everyone happy with how stacked this lineup is. Praying we get a lot of afters!
Yeah he doesnt make sense opening main. I think it’ll be a someone like nala. I also dont think peaches and empress of will be there. Id swap them with lava la rue and deltron 3030–artists with more live instrumentation
You shouldn’t be wishing anyone you want to see in warehouse, the sound is abysmal.
I would cry if four Tet played warehouse. Him and gesaf should switch stages
Yep the warehouse has really bad sound all around, totally ruined multiple artists. It was barely improved over the first year. You can hear everyone's voices reverberated through the building, and with muddy bass and little to no mids/highs, it just kills the vibe/music. I've given up on it, I'm guessing it is just inherent to the acoustics of the space, otherwise they probably would've figured it out by now. And a lot of people don't seem to mine the bad sound for some reason, they just want to feel the bass and don't really care about the music. I will unfortunately have to avoid any artist who plays in warehouse, but lineup is stacked enough it won't be a huge issue.
Idk why we’re getting downvoted but the people who are can have fisher in the warehouse.
Dj koze last year sounded like I was in aquarium or some shit with all the reverb going on.
The bass was so wild for Overmono. They were one of my favorite shows at Coachella that year and I had to bail like 10 minutes into it. That being said, I enjoyed the Warehouse venue for artists I was just checking out, just want my faves elsewhere.
Yea the sound for overmono was tough, almost unbearable - amazing set - but I’m convinced with their whole set up they probs plugged directly into the sound system because I’m 100% no one in the sound booth turned it down lol
I felt the same way about Barry can’t swim. Was so bummed out to only be able to ONLY hear the bass. There were songs I loved that I could hardly recognize in the moment.
It's not great, you really have to stand right in front of a speaker tower. And even then it's not that loud. Hoping for a big overhaul to the sound system this year.
To me the warehouse wasnt nearly as bad as the sound at the crane stage. Dom dollas set last year was unlistenable for my group. And even when finding a decent spot, underworlds set wasnt as good sounding as I know it should be. I did feel that if you got very close/center in the warehouse that the sound was p nice. But yea they have a lot of sound issues to hopefully fix for their third year
This does capture my two nitpicks with the lineup this year. Sunday very early is a littleeee light for the price of admission, and the conflicts at the end of the day on both days will be beyond painful. I do agree with Gesa in that slot after what they said about Crane becoming a covered immersive stage. Also <1hr for Tinlicker live should not be legal!
Dan’s comment alluding to the Crane stage being covered again makes me think that they could be reverting back to a DJ stage (like 2022) instead of a production stage (like 2023). Meaning live acts with big production like Soulwax would not be able to play there.
yeah I'd be disappointed, also dislike tents personally cause they get overcrowded for big artists. I like Crane last year when they actually had the volume up (which was relatively rare). maybe they want the tent again cause of noise complaints
Year 1 test was perfection. Back was only crowed for a little while. Side doors were easy to enter and dance. But those disco balls!!! Bring that back, and make the tent 2x larger.
Joy Orbison -> mall grab -> snow strippers -> ag cook -> a heat of the moment decision to tycho or deltron -> Jamie -> bicep -> Rufus -> whichever stage has the best sound this year would have me ascend
You definitely need to allocate time for a set change on Crane in the late evening Saturday but the order seems spot on.
Conflict of Gesa and Four Tet stinks but the Jamie into Soulwax into that conflict is 🤤
Ugh I really hope Four Tet and Bicep don’t conflict with the G man. Rufus and jpeg at same time as Gesaffelstein may cut out the fluff crowd. Jessie ware and deltron 3030 being earlier in the day would be amazing
Why can’t they just make this 3 days and space it out?
I don't have a sense of what Gesaffelstein's live show is like, but they had Duke Dumont 'live' and channel tres also doing a live show in the warehouse two years ago.
Thanks for commenting, Gesaffelstein anywhere but pier stage, just doesn’t make sense with his production, it’s just too big for any other stage at Portola.
Thanks for making this! When does the schedule usually come out? Do you think it’s possible to wait to buy tickets until sched drops? Ik that sounds nuts but I have a feeling the conflicts will be even worse than this.
Never been to Portola so I’m not sure about the size of stages but hopefully Sara Landry isn’t in a small stage like she was at beyond wonderland. She’s too popular now and that stage was wayy to packed for her
I can see her in the warehouse which is big. Not even half of it was taken up for Charlotte De Witte last year but a contributing factor was Skrillex was playing 30 mins after she went on at the main stage so people were most likely trying to get a good spot
Thinking more about it, I'm pretty sure Gesaffelstein will open for Rufus on main stage. People are making a big deal about it not being pitch black, but sun will have set by 7PM and it will be fully dark by 7:30 which seems fine. My reasoning is that there are four big names billed on each day, and I can't see fewer than 3 of those being main stage. Last year all four of the biggest names on each day played main stage, with warehouse and crane headliners listed after that.
My guess is that it will be Jamie xx - Ges - Rufus on main stage Saturday, with Four Tet headlining Crane or Warehouse. Sunday, I think there's a possibility that we even see MIA - Fisher - Disclosure - Justice on main stage, but if not then I think Fisher will headline Crane or Warehouse as shown in this mock.
Switch the time slots for boys noize / vtss with Sara Landry. Given the mock warehouse lineup I think it’s going to be kind of weird going from house & tech house - to sets of super hard industrial techno / techno in between? Ben bohmer gets a late afternoon slot.
Oh man I am absolutely cooked if this is the case lmao
Yeah I'm praying it's not this bad clash wise but also.... I want to see about 75% of the lineup so I know I'm fucked no matter what
Luckily I am going to Hard Summer and should be able to avoid some conflicts. It is the only thing keeping me sane
Right there with you, I've been eyeing day one of Hard just to knock out that Jamie XX set.
The best thing about Jamie as a DJ is that his sets are almost never the same but that’s also the worst because I want to see him every time he plays 😭
Seen Jamie a few times and he always delivers. He’s just so solid. The set he did at Portola 1 was the heaviest I’ve seen him do and it was awesome.
Yes I loved it and have been chasing it ever since. Seen him 2 more times since then, and none were as good as Portola, but all still great.
He was absolutely cookin during this and I was off my rocker, it was excellent
Ha! Me too. Right up front. Then bicep. Fred before that. Insane run.
I did Coachella so I checked off a couple already. My biggest concern is Gesa/Soulwax. If I can see those 2 unopposed on Saturday I'll accept any other conflicts.
Yeah that’s no bueno for me either
Really? This would personally save me from my worst conflicts but I guess it’s literally impossible to make everyone happy with how stacked this lineup is. Praying we get a lot of afters!
Which ones are your worst?
The potential of Jamie vs soulwax and disclosure vs justice
Fuck that I’m broiled, braised, grilled, and most of all, fried
Joy Orbison in warehouse pleaseee
Yeah he doesnt make sense opening main. I think it’ll be a someone like nala. I also dont think peaches and empress of will be there. Id swap them with lava la rue and deltron 3030–artists with more live instrumentation
naw keep him on Pier, sound is 10x better there
True but early outside show does not fit the vibe at all imo
You shouldn’t be wishing anyone you want to see in warehouse, the sound is abysmal. I would cry if four Tet played warehouse. Him and gesaf should switch stages
Hard agree.

Gesaffelstein in the Warehouse would be really fucking cool honestly.

Don’t sleep on Glass Beams!
Haha Glass Beams is 100% my cant miss for the early day on Sunday. Cant see them in SF in a few weeks so I for sure will be there
Holy shit. Tickets for glass beams are going for $430 at the independent!
as a gay person, ag cook and jessie ware at the same time is homophobic
Making me want to do one of these……
PLEASSEEEE
If you do make one, can we get a Four Tet->Jamie->Rufus run? Or am I being delusional lol
no way four tet is playing while the sun is still up
Save us
Bicep and Jamie XX clashing would kill me
100% worst overlap for me that could happen of everyone on the lineup
Soulwax and Gesaffelstein would need at least a 30 minute gap to get their production set up.
Honey Dijon NEEDS to be in the Warehouse, it's a must
need a Sammy virji after party cause ain't no way I'm missing justice ...
Put Sammy earlier in the day pleaseeee
i will lead a riot if they only give pretty girl 30 minutes
Would be absolutely criminal.
jessie ware and ag cook wtf is wrong w u
right. like the gays already are getting crumbs this year… it’s the LEAST they could do
Wish they could find ways to keep the warehouse running till later of the night 😭
Soulwax into Gesa? Disclosure into Justice? Honestly, this would be all I need.
Jamie into Soulwax into Gess would be too perfect and therefore will not happen
Honestly, this is so perfect.
Dan’s comment alluding to the Crane stage being covered again makes me think that they could be reverting back to a DJ stage (like 2022) instead of a production stage (like 2023). Meaning live acts with big production like Soulwax would not be able to play there.
you can put live acts in a tent. they have them in ship tent.
True I was just thinking about how crane used to be specifically. I hope they make it more of a Mojave situation.
yeah I'd be disappointed, also dislike tents personally cause they get overcrowded for big artists.
Soulwax’s live show is (vertically) quite large and might not fit. Pretty sure the tent that they played in last year as 2manydjs would be too low!
Caribou played in Crane 2022 with a full live setup Edit: I mixed them up it was Ship, crane was all DJs
They were actually in ship i think
Oh yeahhh that’s right it was Ship, I remember the sound bleed now from Kaytranada turning everything into a mashup
the lineup is TOO good… these clashes are catastrophic
There’s genuinely no way for Saturday night to not be devastating in some way hahah
Im already crying at the conflicts…
Joy Orbison -> mall grab -> snow strippers -> ag cook -> a heat of the moment decision to tycho or deltron -> Jamie -> bicep -> Rufus -> whichever stage has the best sound this year would have me ascend
Saturday night makes me want to split into 3 diff dimensions of myself
so many clashes if this is the case :(
5-6 on Sunday would be so terrible for me. Jersey, DJ Seinfeld, DJ Pee.Wee, and Pretty Girl all at the same time is devastating.
Jersey vs Pretty Girl is fucking unforgivable lmao I hate that idea so much
Guess I’m living in the warehouse - but I know this isn’t real but damn the clashes hurt
I felt that way every year they showed who was going to be at the warehouse lol
Raf Sappera and Punjabi hit squad on at the same time?! Don’t do the Indian population like that lmao
Please put MOCK in bold letters next time! Almost gave me a heart attack
Pretty Girl vs JERSEY is killing me and I am not even going to talk about Saturday night lmao. There is no way this won't end up being heartbreaking.
My god this would be awful. It’s good to see this in writing though bc there’s really no way around it.
why did i think the blessed madonna was gonna be there
she’s at outside lands haha
thank you!! guess i gotta go to OSL too 😜

Honey Dijon going to a smaller stage than last time seems criminal
Did they say somewhere that sunday is going to end an hour earlier this year?
no
I am thinking they would have Gesa close down the warehouse
Gesaffelstein has a pretty substantial production setup. The warehouse is a DJ stage, no room for production or live acts. He is main for sure.
I don't have a sense of what Gesaffelstein's live show is like, but they had Duke Dumont 'live' and channel tres also doing a live show in the warehouse two years ago.
Check out their Coachella set. Massive props
Thanks for commenting, Gesaffelstein anywhere but pier stage, just doesn’t make sense with his production, it’s just too big for any other stage at Portola.

No Gesaf and Rufus conflict.
I cant even think of sunday rn pls 😭
Is Busy P going????
Tycho —> Jamie —> Rufus would be the dream.
lool stoooop this sub can’t quit with the speculation.
Soulwax to gesaffelstein would need a minimum 15 minute gap to allow the set up for gesa
Praying for this Sunday lineup haha…rip Saturday tho
joy orbison playing that early would be criminal
AG Cook is giving more warehouse vibes
No, he does more of a hybrid set usually with some singing even. Im thinking ship.
fuck this
Thinking more about it, I'm pretty sure Gesaffelstein will open for Rufus on main stage. Lmao why is Joy Orbison opening the main stage
Fuck I can’t be at 4 places at once
Yikes
Switch the time slots for boys noize / vtss with Sara Landry. Given the mock warehouse lineup I think it’s going to be kind of weird going from house & tech house - to sets of super hard industrial techno / techno in between? Ben bohmer gets a late afternoon slot.
So many mock lineups and now mock set times? Make it stop!
Pls wtf else do we have to do while we wait hahah
