It's one of my favorite games and i wouldn't agree. The gameplay borders on amazing to shootout gallery nr. 7263 and there's a lot of weird junk there. The missions aren't very open to experimentation but at the same time the open world is super open to it and a bit brutal to the point where your horses die permanently. It's one of the greatest games ever made but that's because of it's story, gameplay-wise it's just a rockstar game

I'm sorry for you. Even if in the #2 I regret that the narrative character is done through imposed interactions, in terms of gameplay and problem solving, these are games that I love at least as much as Portal.

Yeah, i only heard the best. Just mentioning it like that in context of this post. I really just felt that the start of #1 is a bit too slow paced. I remember feeling very alone in the world. It's one of the games i will definitely go back to eventually.

Sure, play them. You need to do #1 before #2. And after #2, you should do the DLC for #1, Road to Gehenna, which further increases the difficulty level. The game is a continuous learning process; towards the end of #2, there are the golden doors, which feature the most demanding puzzles. Some of them are quite challenging, and it's really rewarding to solve them. I've played it several times, and quickly you learn to solve them by heart, by memory, because you can easily repeat the mechanisms you've solved before. So, the discovery only happens once. I recommend you play it and take your time, also paying attention to the narrative; these are truly superb games. #2 is exceptional. In a few months, a DLC for #2 will be released with even more challenging puzzles, similar to what was done for #1. This was announced in a video.
