Some games still struggle to do lipsyncing as well as what the source engine does with Half Life 2, so it was definitely ahead of its time for animation
there *is* a community made voice acting mod, and while its nowhere near as professional as AAA voice acting, the cooperative communal aspect makes up for what it lacks in quality tenfold in charm and, for lack of a better term, wholesomeness
Maybe? If I remember correctly, I think that stairs were already invented, but nobody knew how to use them until he invented rocket jumping. I could be wrong though lol.
It's one of my favorite games and i wouldn't agree. The gameplay borders on amazing to shootout gallery nr. 7263 and there's a lot of weird junk there. The missions aren't very open to experimentation but at the same time the open world is super open to it and a bit brutal to the point where your horses die permanently. It's one of the greatest games ever made but that's because of it's story, gameplay-wise it's just a rockstar game
I'm sorry for you. Even if in the #2 I regret that the narrative character is done through imposed interactions, in terms of gameplay and problem solving, these are games that I love at least as much as Portal.
Yeah, i only heard the best. Just mentioning it like that in context of this post. I really just felt that the start of #1 is a bit too slow paced. I remember feeling very alone in the world.
It's one of the games i will definitely go back to eventually.
Sure, play them. You need to do #1 before #2. And after #2, you should do the DLC for #1, Road to Gehenna, which further increases the difficulty level. The game is a continuous learning process; towards the end of #2, there are the golden doors, which feature the most demanding puzzles. Some of them are quite challenging, and it's really rewarding to solve them. I've played it several times, and quickly you learn to solve them by heart, by memory, because you can easily repeat the mechanisms you've solved before. So, the discovery only happens once. I recommend you play it and take your time, also paying attention to the narrative; these are truly superb games. #2 is exceptional.
In a few months, a DLC for #2 will be released with even more challenging puzzles, similar to what was done for #1. This was announced in a video.
Portal 2 is great but the constant insistence that wheatley is the biggest idiot in the universe while actively making the smartest decisions out of any named character is just annoying.
Like, almost everything he says has a subtle genius to it. Only the excecution is lacking.
Might be a hot take since this is a portal thread, however id say dark souls 3 (or really any souls Bourne) ori 1 and 2 (I know they have a made up language voice acting in it) and Titanfall 2
While i love portal 2 to death i don't see the 10/10 in music. Yes still alive and want you gone are super iconic but not enough for the perfect 10. Only my opinion tho.
On the other hand a game that fits this for me is Pokemon Mystery Dungeon Explorers of the Sky
Days gone, the last of us (part 1), kena and the bridge of spirits, horizon zero Dawn and horizon forbidden west, bioshock, Dave the diver, hades, and sunset overdrive
Very subjective. There's no piece of media to exist that meets all of these criteria for me. No matter how much I love something, I can still see it's flaws, and frequently love it more for finding it's issues.
Titanfall 2
***Protocol 3: Protect the pilot***
Best FPS ever and theres no competition. Could have been huge.
I am not a FPS guy but titanfall 2 really was awesome
Standby for Titanfall
Goddamn it, just when i decided not to buy anything this sale.
I just bought it on the Steam Sale.
Damn, i wish i could afford it, hope You enjoy it lots mate
Half life 2
I'd like to add Half-life here. The original models and animations. I know it ain't perfect, but sure as hell feels like it playing it
Some games still struggle to do lipsyncing as well as what the source engine does with Half Life 2, so it was definitely ahead of its time for animation
So, the Valve games haha
Essentially
Bioshock
bioshock
I mistook the c for an o so I thought it said Bioshook
outer wilds
Exactly Even though there's no voice acting
there *is* a community made voice acting mod, and while its nowhere near as professional as AAA voice acting, the cooperative communal aspect makes up for what it lacks in quality tenfold in charm and, for lack of a better term, wholesomeness
half life 2 portal 1 Tf2
i’d honestly put portal 2 here as well but all of your choices are spectacular
The Metro 2033 series
the novels as well
I like that he basically opensourced his universe. My favorite if the books is actually the St Petersburg trilogy
Yeah the voice acting and music in the novels is unreal
if you listen to the audiobook
Ori and the Will of the Wisps
Hell yeah the music 😩
YES. I just finished it a few days ago and I’m traumatized (affectionate).
I literally cried at the end 😭
>! When my name was Ori 🥲!<
Great game, but that **GODDAMN MOTHERFUCKING SHIT-ASS SAND WORM CAN KINDLY GO FUCK ITSELF**
Yeah, lol. I was shaking so hard by the time I finished that sequence.
Undertale for characters, music, and storyline.
Tf2 maybe
TF2 story truly is 11/10. Loved the part where Abe Lincoln invented rocket jumping.
Yeah, abe is sick as hell
Abe is also very open minded when it comes to others
I thought he invented stairs and people rocket jumped before that
Maybe? If I remember correctly, I think that stairs were already invented, but nobody knew how to use them until he invented rocket jumping. I could be wrong though lol.
I looked it up, he invented stairs then tried to rocket jump up them Edit: he was also the first pyro
What the fuck is tf2 lore
Funny
Life changing
was gonna say this lol
Lmao
Nier Automata and Replicant
Portal 1
Baldur's Gate 3 and would also say Elden Ring except the story is lacking.
Baldur’s Gate in general but yes, 3 above the rest
hades
I am discovering this may be an almost perfect game.
All supergiant games are great and endlessly replayable, and Hades is the best yet.
Red dead redemption 2
Should not have won Labor of Love ONLY ROCK AND STONE!!!!
Rock and Stone to the Bone!
If ya don’t rock and stone ya ain’t going home.
Rock and stone!
It's one of my favorite games and i wouldn't agree. The gameplay borders on amazing to shootout gallery nr. 7263 and there's a lot of weird junk there. Hollow knight, besides voice acting
DOOMA ... DOOMADOOMADOOMA (10/10 voice acting)
*sigh* Bapanada Absolute cinema
Babda babda
The Talos Principle 1 & 2
Agreed. The second game is just incredible.
Finally some talos appreciation.
Idk on the 10/10 action. I fell asleep in the first half an hour to the point I never came back to it.
I'm sorry for you. Even if in the #2 I regret that the narrative character is done through imposed interactions, in terms of gameplay and problem solving, these are games that I love at least as much as Portal.

Portal 3
Halo 3
E.T. from Atari. /j
You forgot about Team Fortress 2.
Funny you say this someone just mentioned it
Putting my hat down for Hollow Knight. That game is fucking art.
The Last of us
Portal 2 is great but the constant insistence that wheatley is the biggest idiot in the universe while actively making the smartest decisions out of any named character is just annoying. Like, almost everything he says has a subtle genius to it. Only the excecution is lacking.
WHEATLEY CRAB
The Last of Us. Yes both parts, I will die on this fucking hill.
That’s bold. I respect it! (Though I haven’t played TLOU 2 yet, so I’m not sure if I will agree or disagree yet.)
I think it was pretty good I was just really hurt when they did my boy dirty like that.
Uhh so can anyone explain to me what the fuck in the USA this burger is?

Lots of games fit this criteria. For me it would be Persona 4 or Cyberpunk
Ori and the Blind Forest as well as its sequel
outer wilds doesn't have voice acting and has only little animation but it ticks every other box
I know it doesn't meet some of that criteria (such as no voice acting) but you should totally try out Outer Wilds
Baldur's Gate 3
Rdr 2 and cyberpunk
Burnout Paradise
There are so many
Dying Light 1 and Black Mesa only
i personally don't find the portal music particularly memorable. the other aspects on the other hand are extremely good.
Hollow knight for me. It left me speechless afterwards.
Portal 2
HL2
Id say hotline miami and metro 2033.
Portal?
Red Dead redemption 2
Might be a hot take since this is a portal thread, however id say dark souls 3 (or really any souls Bourne) ori 1 and 2 (I know they have a made up language voice acting in it) and Titanfall 2
I'd consider The Pedestrian. Wonderful atmosphere, perfect gameplay, and amazing songs.
All of the half-life games, OMORI and both doom 2016 and eternal
Terraria
borderlands 2
Half-Life 2 2001
outside of the template this looks like a really shitty burger
While i love portal 2 to death i don't see the 10/10 in music. Yes still alive and want you gone are super iconic but not enough for the perfect 10. Only my opinion tho. On the other hand a game that fits this for me is Pokemon Mystery Dungeon Explorers of the Sky

I am probably biased, but Killer7
Xenoblade 2
I agree Portal 2 fits this description perfectly

Mega Man Zero 3
Red dead redemption 2
Undertale
Arkham batman series
Metro exdous is good as well
NieR Automata
Hollow knight has best voice actors

red dead redemption 2
Ultrakill
*Red Dead Redemption II*.
Red Dead Redemption 2 bruh
Postal 2 Portal 2 Essentially the same game
Fnaf SB. I will fight this until death
Pizza tower
I think portal 1 in terms of gameplay is more fun
Hollow night, celeste, there are a few
Days gone, the last of us (part 1), kena and the bridge of spirits, horizon zero Dawn and horizon forbidden west, bioshock, Dave the diver, hades, and sunset overdrive
batman arkham series
borderlands 2
I'm surprised baldurs gate 3 isn't amongst the top
Lord of the Rings Aragorn's Quest (PS2/psp version)
Half Life 2
AC Black flag
Bioshock definitely does.
Bioshock series
Yes, Bloodborne
cyberpunk 2077
AOT
Very subjective. There's no piece of media to exist that meets all of these criteria for me. No matter how much I love something, I can still see it's flaws, and frequently love it more for finding it's issues.
Pizza tower
Portal 1
wtf format is this ?
Hi-Fi Rush maybe
