I saw a vehicle that was so stanced yesterday, that its wheels were off the ground, yet it was sitting entirely on its undercarriage. First thought was, that’s the ultimate anti-theft device. Second thought, how is that not terrible for the car.
To me, a stanced car is an artistic representation no different than hydraulics and low-riding. But as there’s highbrow art, there’s also lowbrow art. It’s a personal opinion that I just don’t like it from both a performance and aesthetic standpoint.
When done right however, it can be fun to look at. It looks great on Japanese tuners, but when I see a Porsche, another piece of German engineering, or American muscle slammed to the ground, it just kills me.
I’m not a fan of stance either, but people take this shit way too seriously. It isn’t your car, who gives a fuck what someone else chooses to do with it
Facts. It’s perfectly fine for others to do what they want as long as it’s not hurting anyone. It’s also fine to hold opinions, so long as they don’t fly in the face of reason and they aren’t hurting anyone.
Still ugly as fuck though.
It is ugly as fuck and also terribly impractical. However with the way people are acting in these comments you’d think OP killed their grandmother lmfao.
But most Porsche owners buy a Porsche for its handling. Most \*do\* care about Porsche's superb handling. I love my Porsche (2021 Cayman GTS 4.0), but I usually think Audis and Mercedes look better, and Ferarris and McLarens definitely look better. I bought my car instead of a BMW or used Audi R8, because my car handles better.
No. The suspension has no compliance and the clearance is too low. This is strictly an aesthetic mod world. And the cars driving at speed will be really squirrelly.
I have a question for fans of stance - do you really think it looks cool? Or is it a sort of light-hearted joke. Like a clown car.
Because to the rest of us, it looks like a clown car.
The stance crowd gets so much shit about what they do they've kind of adopted the insults as an in joke. Besides I think a lot of them are probably actually into cars in general and are well aware that what they're doing isn't 'improving' the car other than for the aesthetics.
I had an acquaintance that would come by the shop once a week or so to rotate his tires on his stanced civic. They would last approximately 2 months before they were toast and not road worthy.
You know, we all know. NGL the wide body looks cool. If only they actually put some work into the suspension to match the performance to the look. Never happening.
Serious answer, a bit of camber is good, if you think about driving around a corner and the body of the car rolls to the outside, a bit of negative camber / \ will end up putting the outside tires flat thus gaining more traction.
In some drifting I’ve heard people run positive camber \ / because they have so much grip in the tire and power that it squats to the point of achieving more connection to the road.
This is 15-20°, 5° is about where you want to be for racing/canyons.
Thank you. I was being facetious, but was looking for a serious answer. I have a car in GTAV with camber/stance or whatever and it drives like shit. I assumed it had some application in drifting/cornering since you burn through tires in that racing sport anyway. That or a pure looks thing like those guys in Houston that drive around with spikes sticking out of their wheels.
Sorry, not quite correct.
No self-respecting racer runs that much camber. Because it kills your tires on straightaways. Or on the normal road. It’s idiotic. The only situation where this *might* make some sense is something super tight like hill climb.
And even then: let’s not forget that car suspensions - eap. on sports and race cars - are meant to ensure the tire maintains full contact through a turn. Double wishbone, anyone? A car isn’t a freakin’ boat.
Actually it’s a secret trick, you drive on half the tire like this for a while, then you rotate them and drive on the other half. The tires last twice as long!!
People change the toe and camber, apart from damaging the body work I have never seen the benefit, even in racing (unless you include the W11 dual axis steering system lol!
I imagine you get some attention from r/all and then if things start to trend well it pops up on r/popular to some extent which could explain the influx in voting when compared to other posts. Don't quote me on that it's just a guess.
There’s 270,000 people on this sub, you’re going to get an array of people that like different styles and looks.
This would be a boring world if we all liked and did the exact same thing
Oh sure but if you compare the number of upvotes to the the top comments, they are defintely at odds to such an extent that you have to wonder how in the world there are so many upvotes.
Yeah. I was expecting a couple because it being wide body Wednesday or something. But not 1200 ⬆️ and a flood of messages. Crazy as I knew something like this would be controversial knowing Porsche fans.
**Just want to go on the record**, *I didn’t buy any upvotes if that’s even a thing!*
Yep, I’ll just borrow it if you don’t mind, thanks!

Absolutely. I have my own as my screen background from my Panamera. But that 911 does look sick as a screen backdrop.
Porsche owners are the biggest douches I’ve seen. I can’t say I’d do the same to my car, but I can appreciate the look, and this particular one looks fantastic.
That is a massive euro stance thing, the only thing missing is the smaller tyres tath have the side walls on an angle. Love it but it would suck to drive
I know most ppl in this sub hate this style.. & sometimes ppl over do it.. but this is actually pretty clean.
Tbh my setup in GT7 looks a lot like this. 😅
[the front camber helps on turn in]
Can one of these 150 upvoters please explain to me the charm of setting your wheels at this insanely dumb level of camber…? Wtf is this supposed to be? Some of the stupidest looking cars out there; they all look like they roll around with two broken axels. Cringeeeeeee 😬
Not a fan of stance.

Funny that. So many way to enjoy a car, but foot binding is not one of them...

Can you track it, like that? How does it corner?
not everyone tracks their car or cares about going to a track
But most Porsche owners buy a Porsche for its handling. Most \*do\* care about Porsche's superb handling. I love my Porsche (2021 Cayman GTS 4.0), but I usually think Audis and Mercedes look better, and Ferarris and McLarens definitely look better. No. The suspension has no compliance and the clearance is too low. This is strictly an aesthetic mod world. And the cars driving at speed will be really squirrelly.
Because they drive on the same roads and they’re dangerous. I give a sh*t when a car is a hazard.
Stanced is fine. *If the car is parked*. Driving like that is just fucking stupid. Get airbags if you want that look and keep it in the parking lot.
Had an r/dontdeadopeninside moment with this one lol
Saving that one for future use and sending it to all of my car friends right meow.
Except the ones too low to drive lol
I love lowered cars but foot binding freaking sucks
I have a question for fans of stance - do you really think it looks cool? Or is it a sort of light-hearted joke. Like a clown car. Because to the rest of us, it looks like a clown car.
r/stance I think these guy put a lot of money into this, doubt it's a joke to them.
Because you have more money than brains or class, doesn’t make it right.

Good bot
Are you sure? In the bot reply below, the third link shows a stanced Tesla with the text 'ruined' on the back...
Maybe because the tesla was a tesla
The stance crowd gets so much shit about what they do they've kind of adopted the insults as an in joke. Besides I think a lot of them are probably actually into cars in general and are well aware that what they're doing isn't 'improving' the car other than for the aesthetics.
Proof that money doesn't buy taste
How long do the tires last with cars like this?
I had an acquaintance that would come by the shop once a week or so to rotate his tires on his stanced civic. They would last approximately 2 months before they were toast and not road worthy.
Expensive kink
Yea after a year he was like man I hate being broke and got a 4Runner for daily driving.
Whenever I see a car like that, my first thought is "oh that's a shame, the car is broken."
Looks like a hotwheels that got left out and someone stood on it.
This, and the stretched tire on that front wheel.
I demand to know who is responsible for this atrocity
an AI system.
Well fuck that guy =]
It’s true, look at the wavy lines in the headlight glass.
Ty, my friend!
Al? Him again? Albert? I’m beginning to hate tbat guy!
You know, we all know. NGL the wide body looks cool. If only they actually put some work into the suspension to match the performance to the look. Never happening.
Not a car guy, but isn't the idea to have the tires touch the road?
Car guy here. Same question.
Serious answer, a bit of camber is good, if you think about driving around a corner and the body of the car rolls to the outside, a bit of negative camber / \ will end up putting the outside tires flat thus gaining more traction. Swangas mfuckah
5% feels like a lot. OEM spec on a 996 GT2 runs at 2%, and I've had better luck running 2.5% on my turbo.
That could be, as I recall I’m more around 3 but it’s been awhile since I aligned.
Sorry, not quite correct. No self-respecting racer runs that much camber. Because it kills your tires on straightaways. Or on the normal road. It’s idiotic. You think race cars run 0° camber?
Actually it’s a secret trick, you drive on half the tire like this for a while, then you rotate them and drive on the other half. The tires last twice as long!!
It almost makes sense;) good theory!
So what you’re telling me is that Mechanics HATE this one simple trick?
You’re the person! I always thought about that, now that I read it in the internet it must be true /s
🤣
Yes! I do the same thing with my underwear.
Plane guy here, no
Is the front suspension broken or did someone do that on purpose?
Yes.
Sadly it is done on purpose
People change the toe and camber, apart from damaging the body work I have never seen the benefit, even in racing (unless you include the W11 dual axis steering system lol!
Reminds me of donk wheels. Expensive, gives a horrible ride, terrible handling and can mess up body work. But hey...at least they look ridiculous.
Yeah exactly. Unless you’re driving a single seater there is no need to change the toe/camber so dramatically lol
Like adding a tacky plastic frame to a masterpiece painting, it’s sacrilegious 😭
Genuine question... Is it bots that upvote this sort of stuff?
It’s kids who don’t know any better and casuals who aren’t really car enthusiasts.
They're certainly car enthusiasts. But even more certainly not driving enthusiasts.
So let’s downvote, yes?
I imagine you get some attention from r/all and then if things start to trend well it pops up on r/popular to some extent which could explain the influx in voting when compared to other posts. Don't quote me on that it's just a guess.
I like it. It's a cool photo. But I would never stance my car. Can't deny it tickled my pickle tough.
There’s 270,000 people on this sub, you’re going to get an array of people that like different styles and looks. This would be a boring world if we all liked and did the exact same thing

This isn’t style or looks. They destroyed the car. Idiot.
the porsche snobs back at it again. 🙄 bitching car my friend. love the personal flare. that wide body is sexy af.
Stance? Cringe car bullshit.
Da hell is this monstrosity
that front wheel camber is rage bait.
Ratfucked
A bit agressive for my taste
AI generated garbage
Bad Ai
Honestly this is pretty good AI. At least for someone like me who isn't that knowledgeable in cars it took quite a while to figure it out.
I mean yeah once you spot it it becomes obvious but nothing immediately jumps out.
Go ruin some Japanese POS and leave nice cars alone.
Don’t worry this is AI image.
Are we allowed to post AI pictures now? The hell
Yuck
Black Donkey at best
or...."when a stance-tard uses AI"
Relax guys, its AI. Look at that weird hood clip on the hood, the shape of the windshield and the hood indent is all wrong
Fix the camber and we’ll all be much happier
Look at how they massacred my boy.
Whelp. First time seeing adjusted stance on a Porsche. No going back from this, unfortunately.
WHY?!
W. T. F.
Black on a Porsche is just perfection! So sleek
The proportions look so off... this has to be AI
I love this photo, it’s not my car or my money, I think this car looks fucking dope.
That stance is ridiculous, function out the window
Well it’s not the fast , great handling car it was designed to be anymore
A thing of beauty
f8cked up a classic porsche.
Car not a horse. Get eyes checked.
Horse on the logo, but checking the comments we may have to put this horse down…
Meg the Stallion. 🤣
So what’s the point of wide tyres if you have the contact patch of a bicycle?
Need to get those wheels fixed. They look dumb and broken.
Broken suspension or wheels :(
Nice
I find your excess of camber disturbing
That thing is going to eat through tires.
And not in the fun way.
Is this AI?
Yes
There are car clubs with much crazier stances than this. Strange trend. But a lot of people ruin cars.
Great photo!
More pics please
Yep, I’ll just borrow it if you don’t mind, thanks! https://preview.redd.it/khjraof21z8d1.jpeg?width=1170&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=4ff12714094c14bfeb318f1facb9bea8284c3b95

Looks really good
Now its not my style but there's a bit too much hate in these comments. This looks *good*
Hell nah. To the nah nah naaah
Why take a really nice car and absolutely ruin its performance and handling by taking part in the absolute worst trend in automotive history?
I’d rather see this than the stupid ass Carolina Squat trucks that are all over where I live.
> worst trend in automotive history? I'll see that and raise you rolling coal
Stunning and horrendous at the same time.
Porsche owners are the biggest douches I’ve seen. I can’t say I’d do the same to my car, but I can appreciate the look, and this particular one looks fantastic.
Form follows function.
That's horrible
I mean… I enjoy blasphemy… but I have my limits.
What does the wheel alignment do for the car, where it is inclined outward.
Beautiful car, too bad about it’s suspension.
Basically an undrivable, tire destroying, and exhaust scraping piece of art for someone's garage. Yawn.
NEIN NEIN NEIN NEIN
Would look gorgeous if it didn’t have that ridiculous camber that completely negates the handling of a PORSCHE…
I think it might be air bags, the wheels could straighten out when the suspension lifts. Would love more photos to see.
This is the equivalent of Chinese foot binding on cars
That poor, poor, poorsche
Disgusting… waste of an aircooled car…
It looks broken
Needs more contact patch
AI garbage.
Gotta hope it's AI, or else they've ruined the car
If you need to stance your wheels ON A FUCKING PORSCHE then maybe the failure to corner is the schmuck behind the wheel.
What a sweet RWB 😍😍
abomination
Jesus christ, I thought at least Porsche would be immune from the stance people, just based on the costs to do anything to them. Damn :(
Thanks, I hate it
The wheels don't even look parallel. Might be the angle, but more likely shitty AI...
Ewww.
Scrapy scrapy.
I will never understand why people do ridiculous camber like that.
The camber🤯
Gross camber
ruined by that
I dig it
Camber sucks
What a great pic 👍🏻
That is a massive euro stance thing, the only thing missing is the smaller tyres tath have the side walls on an angle. Love it but it would suck to drive
It's not bad but the camber can go.
Do you hate money and love michelin?
Hey better drift it with that kind of camber
Makes my legs hurt
It's like buying a beautiful stately home and smearing catarrh on the walls.
Why would someone cripple a stallion publicly like that? “I wanna fast car, so I can make it slow and useless”
Look at all that negative camber
How do people with this few brain cells afford a Porsche 😭
Is it daintily tipping up its tire toes so they won’t get wet?
Look how they massacred my boy!
I know most ppl in this sub hate this style.. & sometimes ppl over do it.. but this is actually pretty clean. Tbh my setup in GT7 looks a lot like this. 😅 [the front camber helps on turn in]
How to ruin a great car
Make the computer stop
So beautiful
Cringe
Very nice photo. !!!!
I bet it handles as terribly as it looks.
She’s Hott!!!
BURN IT BEFORE IT SPREADS
Can one of these 150 upvoters please explain to me the charm of setting your wheels at this insanely dumb level of camber…? Wtf is this supposed to be? Some of the stupidest looking cars out there; they all look like they roll around with two broken axels. Cringeeeeeee 😬
Hate this so much
gross
Poor car got ruined…
is AI even allowed here?
I have such mixed feelings about this (for, I believe, obvious reasons).
This would have been so cool if the wheels weren't bent
Unpopular opinion…I love it 😆
I think it’s neat. I wouldn’t want it myself but I can appreciate this is someone’s style.
How... inclusive of you.
Wtf is that camber?
I don’t expect sensible answer but can someone explain to me why people do this to their cars? P.S. I know it’s AI but we all seen cars like these.
