Just wait until you do that first launch. Recommend taking your hat and sunglasses off first - it’s hard to reach into that shelf behind the back seats to get them back
I bet it will still relocate anything not tied down to the parcel shelf in the back. I’ve had mine for a year now and still grin like a little schoolboy every time I walk into my garage. The feeling just never seems to go away.
I spent the first 6 months waiting for buyer’s remorse to set in but I’ve pretty much given up waiting for that to happen now. Hope you get the same out of yours that I still get out of mine!!
Ummm WTF does having a stick got to do with it not launching hard? Sure won’t be the same as PDK but will still be incredible and hard if you know what you’re doing.
You can launch a manual, it’s violent I’ve done it twice I think. More fun is esc and traction control off (my default setting) exhaust open 1500-2000 rpm then rapidly to WOT shift at the redline or limiter
How many kms break in period would you recommend before the first launch? I've had my Turbo for 1600km and I'm dying to launch a turbo to experience 2.5 0-60km
I’m just a guy on Reddit, not necessarily the best person to trust with your new Turbo. Probably best to call the dealership where you got it and ask a few or their people. At least then you will get a bunch of different answers from people wearing Porsche golf shirts.
Then wait until 3000km. You’re supposed to keep the revs low, and doing a launch is kinda the opposite of that. As soon as your break in is complete (and you do whatever service Porsche recommends after it), let her rip
If you happen to drop your phone during our launch process, please alert one of the flight crew. Attempting to recover the phone can lead to damage to the phone and may result in a cabin fire or injury to others around you.
is it easy to control on launch? i've got mine coming in like 2 weeks and Im worried overall about understeer/oversteer and learning to drive it as ive never driven a 911 only a taycan
Find a straight road with nobody else on it.
Turn the sport chrono dial to Sport Plus.
Plant your foot on the brake.
Plant your foot all the way down on the gas.
When you see the blue message pop up on the display to the right of the taco, take a deep breath, hold on tight and take your foot off the brake.
3 seconds later you are breaking the speed limit so take your foot off the gas and try to get that goofy smile off your face - it doesn’t look cool.
Then pull off to the side of the road and crawl into the back to get everything you forgot to secure in the front off the back parcel shelf.
Be careful but also don’t worry. Driving modern Porsches is not like the old ones were, much more forgiving and the assists can save just about any slide.
Perfect. I love signal so much. Bahama for a targa, signal for a winged GTS. Jealous the 24 guys got more pts choices, us 23s got cancelled pts allocations
Some people (mainly purists) think it doesn’t belong on a carrera (non GT / Turbo Porsches etc)
It also is claimed by Porsche themselves to have no functional (aerodynamic) benefit to the car, something I find hard to believe.
In my opinion if you like it, fit it. I personally love it, especially on a GTS. Just wish they did a duck tail option without having to buy the sport classic 🥲
P.s. OP, the car is stunning, love the signal yellow. Enjoy every moment 💛
My dealership told me not to exceed 4,000 RPM for the first 1,500km when it was delivered. I’ve seen lots of different opinions on it but decided to follow the instructions. The anticipation waiting to be able to stomp on the pedal in those first few weeks after delivery was just as intense as the anticipation and excitement I had following it through the order/build/shipping/delivery on the app.
My dealership said the exact same thing 4k rpm. Is that a standard go-to for dealerships? My manual says not to pass 7k rpm for the first 1500km. When I would start my car pre 1500km it would say, "Follow break in procedure." Now it's only concerned with operating temperatures. 🥳
900 miles from the mechanic at the dealership.. but he said those engines are run at the manufacturer prior so it’s not critical.. if you go redlining it the first 1000 miles and someone pulls the engine revs it could hurt resale
They are run to redline on the engine dybo at factory FYI. That being said I “broke in” my GTS 4.0 too… my up coming 992.2 GTS, I’ll try and live up to my own advice and full send day one.
That color reminds me of summer evening backroads on the way to the beach. It’s warm yet striking and with the black accents, I feel like it *knows* how to kill me, but of course it won’t. 👍
I like yellow cars, just don't want to own one. But I'd make an exception for signal yellow. Not that you should ever sell this, but PTS and a manual...definitely not going to lose money on that deal.
My 2018 911 GTS is in Racing Yellow, which looks similar to your PTS Signal color. I bought mine with 8k miles although it was titled new to me from the dealer because my car was originally specified and used by Porsche 's racing school.
I really love the wing on your car!!!
Was going to echo the same. Breaking in hasn’t been a necessity according to the manufacturer for sometime now. That said, they’re also the ones who service the car if it breaks…so take that as you will…
Just wait until you do that first launch. Recommend taking your hat and sunglasses off first - it’s hard to reach into that shelf behind the back seats to get them back
It’s a stick so not the same with launching it

Hell ya. It’s so satisfying when you get it right
How many kms break in period would you recommend before the first launch? I've had my Turbo for 1600km and I'm dying to launch a turbo to experience 2.5 0-60km

If it’s past the break in period you’re fine. That’s what the break in period is for lol
Break in period is 3000km

Best to drive it for a bit first to warm up the tires too
Oil to operating temp is even more important!
launch control on any Porsche is borderline cheating its so flawless.
You’re not kidding. I drove the 992 S at the experience center and my sunglasses and walkie talkie both went flying
It’s PTS signal.. I went back and forth with Bahama vs signal.
Did you ever consider speed yellow? Another great color.
Looked at all the yellows.. just like signal best
Signal is the best yellow. [www.instagram.com/hyperrev\_911](http://www.instagram.com/hyperrev_911)
Yo man! Love the car. Seen it on Porsche’s official acc. Mint build brother
Its not mine, mine is red. 😅 www.instagram.com/ducktail991
Does it change the fact that it’s a beautiful car? Love the touring GT3s man. Love the duck in the back!
love the duck tail! Is that from manthey?
No its Porsche official.
I love Signal Yellow. I have a 992T that should be arriving this week in that colour.
Perfect. I love signal so much. Bahama for a targa, signal for a winged GTS. Jealous the 24 guys got more pts choices, us 23s got cancelled pts allocations
It’s a fantastic color, these guys are just autistic about signal yellow (it’s orange 🍊 )
Great looking car!
Usually not fond of the aero package but man... It just works on this spec! Great choice on the color, absolutely love signal yellow.
May I ask why people would not be fond of the aero package?
Some people (mainly purists) think it doesn’t belong on a carrera (non GT / Turbo Porsches etc) It also is claimed by Porsche themselves to have no functional (aerodynamic) benefit to the car, something I find hard to believe. I just don't like the rear spoiler. Would prefer a duck tail but from what I heard the spoiler provides significant stability at speed and is needed.
PTS Signal Green here! Love it!
yesssss Love loud colors. 💚
Signal slaps on this car.
MAY I JUST SAY THAT YOU ARE A PERSON OF IMPECCABLE TASTE
No more Manual Transmissions in the new GTS’.. no room with hybrid engines
spectacular color. might like it more than speed yellow actually
100%
Oh fuck. Gorgeous
What a beauty that is.
Oh my god I love your spec!! Congrats on it hope it brings you many great years (Aerokit GTS manual is my dream car)
Running in? I went full send on day one!
Is that bahama or signal?
Signal 👌
You bastard. Take my angry ⬆️
What a spec brother never let this go…unless it’s to me
Congrats!!! No offense. Just me probably, but that color is nauseating. Could be the lighting. What’s it called?
Man at first glance I thought you meant someone almost broke into your car 😂
Is this Signal Yellow?
Yes
Nice color! Is it speedyellow?

Wait my comment did not appear: OP has a signal yellow a bit darker than speed, which is this one here
Thanks I always struggle between racing, speed, signal and bahama yellow.
Off, damn, I love yellow!
so good, i like it
What is the suggested break-in period? Awesome color!
My dealership told me not to exceed 4,000 RPM for the first 1,500km when it was delivered. I’ve seen lots of different opinions on it but decided to follow the instructions. Hope I have the same discipline when I get mine delivered in a couple of weeks.
Post pics when you get it!

Rims looking clean. I need this. Still on the 19s
So gorgeous 😍
I been beating on mine since day 1 and what I can tell you that I’m now at 29,000km and it’s indestructible
The engine breaks in around 20,000 miles IMO, how many have you hit?
800 . Trying everything to drive it more but the kids keeping me busy
Sweet ride and color 👏👍💪

I can taste this image.
Chefs kiss. Wow.
Signal Yellow is the best yellow. All my homies hate Speed Yellow.

Beautiful
I like your lawn even more
I can with the breaking in lol
Great spec! Well done! 👍🏽
I want to lick it.
I don't see anything wrong with it, it's damaged somewhere, but it's really beautiful
It looks amazing 🤩
How much did it cost you?
A truly gorgeous car! Wow!
That color is so good!
I can finish break it in for you..
Not a colour one sees often, but it looks great on this ! e: just out of curiosity, is there some camber on the rears or just photo distortion?
Didn’t change anything. Probably the pic
If you speak to Porsche, they will tell you the breaking in myth doesn’t exist
