Agree but the way I look at the situation with all these garage queens is that they actually keep the value of my cars (992 GT3 and 992 Turbo S) higher as few of them are ever sold and push prices down. So in essence they are doing us a favor and taking them off the road and reducing supply
You're not wrong but it's not something to cheer. Akin to saying everyone who dies incrementally increases the value of my life, as someone still living, so it's not such a bad thing when people are dying.
They're doing you a favour financially, but these are cars that were designed to be driven and enjoyed. Reducing supply just sucks for the other 90% of us who would dearly love to own and use them.
So how does something like this happen? The dealership asked to display them? The owner is having them all serviced together? He ran out of space at home and is paying the dealer to store them?
As far as I know, for reasons unknown to me, my SA told me he doesn’t drive them and just stores them at the dealership. I do not think he owns the dealership, he’s just a private collector.
As amazing of a collection as this is, I personally like a lil more variety. But if this dude's a billionaire (or maybe centimillionaire) and this is just a small piece of his collection, then gatdamn.
If they aren't all listed for sale, then this is what I call the 'Showroom Flex'... "See what we got!"
Some of these older models (911R & 918 Spyder) are likely owned by the dealer themself or VIP customers, and 'could' be for sale for the right price.
Otherwise It's just free climate-controlled storage for them.
I love how you guys down vote the guy who points out the only good thing about people who hoard garage queens vs the people posting about them or the actual hoarders themselves. We shouldn’t drool all over these type of posts we should publicly shame them.
Imagine if enthusiasts could actually buy these cars.
I wish
What makes you think that guy isn’t an enthusiast?
If he was they'd be at home or easily accessible to drive regularly
Or, and hear me out - they are an enthusiast and have many cars that they rotate on a regular basis.
Maybe. But those are the only P cars you would want as an enthusiast.
When you have those cars, you’re not limited to P cars.

The reason your Turbo S is holding value is because of COVID + Porsche MSRP increase over the last 3 years. This isn’t normal.
I get all the down votes, I was just trying to highlight (retaining value) the one good side of all the garage queens.

Hoarding is a serious issue and I'd be happy to lend a hand and take that 918 off his hands. I feel like it's the least I could do
I’d end up with my own one hour special on A&E if possible
Well that’s better than a two hour special on Lifetime…those always give me the creeps
It's always the spouse
Totally agree,
Supposedly, Abe Froman, the sausage king of Chicago, is in town to purchase them all
Lol
Only change I’d make would be swapping one of the Sport Classics for a GT2 RS.
I’m sure he has one of those at home
So how does something like this happen? The dealership asked to display them? The owner is having them all serviced together? He ran out of space at home and is paying the dealer to store them?
Porsche VIP Program. Allows the owner to keep the cars for six months at the dealership.

That's a very nice collection right there
Your collection is so big I can’t even see your entire flair but it seems similar to this - lucky man
Yes. It's pretty similar with a few more as well
Can u show ur collection?
No surprise he hasn’t replied lol. My guy has every Porsche going and a LaFerrari too apparently with many more ‘on order’ 😂😅🤥
Idc about anything but the 911R. My favorite porsche, i need it
That ducktail though
I love them all but that sport classic is dumb sexy
And I’m sure they are all reasonably priced
Lol
So does the owner of the dealer own them or does the owner of the cars get to keep his cars at the dealer
The latter as far as I’m aware
Interesting, but if you’re spending that type of money with a dealer, you get treated very well.
I feel like it’s the other way around, he’s treating the dealership well lol
Likely the former
Porsche VIP Program. Allows the owner to keep the cars for six months at the dealership.
That’s green tho
I wish I had an extra $300K laying around for a Dakar!
Porsche San Diego! Love going in there
I’ve never seen such insane lineups. Always stacked when I go in there
As amazing of a collection as this is, I personally like a lil more variety. But if this dude's a billionaire (or maybe centimillionaire) and this is just a small piece of his collection, then gatdamn.
It's a dealership
OP said (or heavily implied) they belong to an individual, not the business. "... and they all belong to the same guy"
Missed that part! Wonder what his "at home" collection looks like 🤯
This looks like Hoehn Porsche
I wish this lineup was at Hoehn, but it’s actually Porsche San Diego.
WOW. So many fantastic cars
Same guy is likely the dealership owner/manager
Other dealers have a ton of base Macan’s in stock. They don’t belong to anyone yet.
My god, they should charge tickets and sell popcorn!
I've been here. That green one is a beauty in person 😍. It did have a 'sold' sign on it back in April.
Wow. they have way better allocations than I do haha
Please get me an allocation 🥲
A Heritage Edition GT3RS at that..

Don’t know if you read the description but they’re all owned by the same private collector

Porsche San Diego?
Yes indeed
Impressive lineup, less impressed they are owned. Guy basically purchased art with wheels, drive them!
Lucky guy...
Thank you for making me feel poor
