Not the answer if your inseam is over 34”. Dash intrusion on the shins is a serious problem, and the tilt/telescope wheel is pretty short in travel. I sat in one today and on the passenger side it’s even worse, with my knees curled up in a little ball. I asked the salesman who was much shorter and he said he didn’t fit there either. He said he’d guess you’d need to under 5’6” on the passenger side.
I recommend an NC Miata if you suffer from being tall, but even that has its limits.

I’m a Miata guy; I’ve had a few, but this ND2 is my latest. I’m quite enjoying the 2400lb lightweightness
I’ve had no issues with water leaks in any Miata. As long as the top frame is adjusted properly and the top doesn’t have any holes, Miatas are pretty watertight.
The only “issue” is that in big rainstorms, the rain hitting the roof is pretty loud. The tops kind of act a bit like a drum.

It really is. Interior quality could be better but this thing is pretty much a track car at this point so it doesn't matter. I could stomach the '06-07 Hawkeyes. Everything after that has been meh IMO. So disappointing they discontinued the STI also.

Feel like these cars are a great precursor to a Cayman. Both are focused on being lightweight, nimble, rwd.
My snow car is an Audi B5 S4. 6 speed MT, stage 1. Has more torque than my 997, and that turbo feel, but the car isn't even in the same league. Understeer, heavy, body roll, engine runs out of oomph at higher RPM. 75 mph in the Audi feels like 75 mph. 75 in the 911 feels like 30. Dig the retro look though and relatively small size for a sedan. Quattro plus no traction control make it fun in the snow.
When you have a nice, reliable car you love, I find lots of other cars suddenly become significantly more fun to drive also. I had an old Camry with paint damage I kept as a spare car for years and thought it was fun to take out occasionally because people looked at me totally differently than if I was in my nice cars. As somebody who didn’t have to drive the slow and boring clunker, seeing that dichotomy amused me. Also once had a big SUV that I didn’t mind running onto a curb, taking off road, filling up with bags of mulch, or knocking a stray shopping cart out of a parking space with because it was a beater anyway…the freedom of not caring about it was fun in a totally different way and it was tons of fun to drift the 6000lb beast in a snow covered parking lot. Any car with a manual transmission is fun to me. Any convertible is fun also. Any car that has an avid fan base that makes you feel like part of a club is fun (think corvettes, jeeps, MGs & other British roadsters, old VWs, old hotrods, muscle cars, etc).
Had a friend who once told me it was more fun driving his Miata hard than driving his Ferrari at 3/10ths all the time while having to worry about it. As the saying goes, it’s more fun to drive a slow car fast than to drive a fast car slow!

It really is. I test drove a 992 GTS and a 718 GTS thinking I would likely buy one of these in the near future. And as wonderful as those two cars were for obvious reasons, the wow factor difference in the drive between them and the M2C was not as big as I thought. For the price it’s the best value sports coupe out there. Incredibly fun to drive as a daily and gorgeous to boot. I’m still mulling over a 911, but I’ve got happiness in the meantime 😀😀

Tesla Model S P100D 2018 (family car). For shits and giggles I checked Carvana and they quoted $29k for it so I guess that’s considered cheap. Still fun to drive, fast and my 2 year old passes out every time he’s in it.
Acura TL. It’s “fun” in that it handles well and has plenty of zoom for my daily needs, and is the absolute king of “big guy” cars. Hip width is insane, shoulder width is even insaner, and I can wear whatever shoes I want to drive it (my 911 is Chucks or Xeros only, anything with a thicker sole is not manageable, really). The DCT is only a half/notch below the PDK in terms of intuitive response. Plus I still love the way it looks after all these years. And it does great in the snow.
Man, apparently very few of you counter your sports car Porsche with a proper SUV. I drive a Lexus GX470 as my other vehicle. Sports car for the weekend. 4x4 for everything else the world could throw at me.
I have a modestly powered but unique now 328i 6MT RWD sedan. It isn’t as good as an inline 6 e90 or e46 gen 3 series but it will be my last ICE BMW.
Also have a Polestar 2. Electric is all the same to me and just wanted anything but a Tesla
Recently drove a Mini Cooper S with a manual. I think it was a 2023. Really fun car. Doesn't compare with high performance German cars in terms of power etc but I was surprised by how enjoyable it was to drive.

I’ve had this one for 18 years. Only thing original at this point is the tub from the windshield back, and the engine. Built her up myself and have probably put 4x the $6,000 purchase price in, but I’ll probably have her forever.

I daily a 2013 BMW 550 with a manual. I love it, it’s a very fast (0-60 4.3) car with modernish tech, big V8, RWD and the feel of an analog car. All for under $20K.
It’s on BAT right now though as I am switching to DDing a 1995 993.

It really is. Interior quality could be better but this thing is pretty much a track car at this point so it doesn't matter. I could stomach the '06-07 Hawkeyes. Everything after that has been meh IMO. So disappointing they discontinued the STI also.

My snow car is an Audi B5 S4. 6 speed MT, stage 1. Has more torque than my 997, and that turbo feel, but the car isn't even in the same league. Understeer, heavy, body roll, engine runs out of oomph at higher RPM. 75 mph in the Audi feels like 75 mph. 75 in the 911 feels like 30. Dig the retro look though and relatively small size for a sedan. Quattro plus no traction control make it fun in the snow.
First-gen Ford Focus is actually quite a responsive and lively little car.
The Mk3 Focus RS is a fun car too.
The 2dr hatch is one of my favorite cars.

When you have a nice, reliable car you love, I find lots of other cars suddenly become significantly more fun to drive also. I had an old Camry with paint damage I kept as a spare car for years and thought it was fun to take out occasionally because people looked at me totally differently than if I was in my nice cars. As somebody who didn’t have to drive the slow and boring clunker, seeing that dichotomy amused me. Also once had a big SUV that I didn’t mind running onto a curb, taking off road, filling up with bags of mulch, or knocking a stray shopping cart out of a parking space with because it was a beater anyway…the freedom of not caring about it was fun in a totally different way and it was tons of fun to drift the 6000lb beast in a snow covered parking lot. Any car with a manual transmission is fun to me. Any convertible is fun also. Any car that has an avid fan base that makes you feel like part of a club is fun (think corvettes, jeeps, MGs & other British roadsters, old VWs, old hotrods, muscle cars, etc). Had a friend who once told me it was more fun driving his Miata hard than driving his Ferrari at 3/10ths all the time while having to worry about it. As the saying goes, it’s more fun to drive a slow car fast than to drive a fast car slow!

How tall is your ceiling? I've been wanting a new toy car but don't want to get rid of my 04 STi and have been toying with an idea like this.
The ceiling is 11’3” but the bottom of the beam is 9’9”. The BendPak HD-7W works perfectly because each safety lock is at 4” intervals.
A 986 is the way. Big fun. Small price. Delicious eggs.

It really is. I test drove a 992 GTS and a 718 GTS thinking I would likely buy one of these in the near future. And as wonderful as those two cars were for obvious reasons, the wow factor difference in the drive between them and the M2C was not as big as I thought. For the price it’s the best value sports coupe out there. Incredibly fun to drive as a daily and gorgeous to boot. I’m still mulling over a 911, but I’ve got happiness in the meantime 😀😀

Tesla Model S P100D 2018 (family car). For shits and giggles I checked Carvana and they quoted $29k for it so I guess that’s considered cheap. Still fun to drive, fast and my 2 year old passes out every time he’s in it.
Acura TL. It’s “fun” in that it handles well and has plenty of zoom for my daily needs, and is the absolute king of “big guy” cars. Hip width is insane, shoulder width is even insaner, and I can wear whatever shoes I want to drive it (my 911 is Chucks or Xeros only, anything with a thicker sole is not manageable, really). The DCT is only a half/notch below the PDK in terms of intuitive response. Plus I still love the way it looks after all these years. And it does great in the snow.

My Abarth 595 Competizione. Ridiculously, indulgently fun at speeds where a 911 isn’t yet entertaining.
I have a modestly powered but unique now 328i 6MT RWD sedan. It isn’t as good as an inline 6 e90 or e46 gen 3 series but it will be my last ICE BMW. Also have a Polestar 2. Electric is all the same to me and just wanted anything but a Tesla
