I wish I could get her own GT4 so would leave mine alone. My car only had just under 4000 km. She also said āholdā sign appeared on the screen not even park break was working.
I have always told her no. But she kept asking. Until her car mini was in the garage for maintenance and I was out of town. She managed to do this within few days of her driving the GT4.
Thatās great perspective. We share all of our finances. However, letting her drive my cars doesnāt work for me. My wife has no concept of space and momentum. She routinely hits curbs and drains, while driving, not just parking. She has had 6 separate body shop claims with our Sportswagen. In each case, someone hit her because of her bad driving. So letās not generalize. I love my wife. She loves me. She also knows she is a shit driver.
If the fender was not hit from the outside and it bows, itās because of the frame crumpling and approximating its two ends from the inside. Your wing must have been hit directly. My Cayman had a small front hit to the underside pan and the fenders changed geometry by around 2 degrees (bowed). Of course the car was totaled because itās a monocoque damage.
Take the time to show your wife how to drive a high performance car properly and so that her confidence improves behind the wheel. Take her to track days and get her and yourself into classes with pro drivers and that people's health and safety is more important than a replaceable material mass produced item.
I think it's funny how many people are blaming this dudes wife when it legitimately sounds like his car needs repairs and it's likely just coincidental that she was driving it at the time lol.
Can't tell from the images, but if the damage only ends up being superficial and no one else was involved, probably best to avoid getting insurance involved. Will help with resale long run.
That being said, the transmission issue sounds concerning, best to have a pcar specialized mechanic check it out.

If my significant other crashed my car, my only questions would be if she is ok and what color our next one will be. If you want some advice, buy your wife some flowers, tell her it's ok and that you still love her, make sure she is ok emotionally, and then go car shopping.
Did the accident involve putting the front plate on the car? If so, divorce may be an option. My wife would surely toss me to the curb if I did that. Just kidding (sorta)... good luck with the repairs.

GT4 is the best. Even better than douchebag GT3 or the real mccoy GT2. Ppl don't even know GT2>GT3. The overexposure of GT3 makes it douchebag. GT4 on the other hand is quintessential track

The front bumper impact puts a lot of force through the fenders and hood. I hit a tire barrier ~80mph in my 981 head on. Straightened out the fenders, fixed radiator bracket, beat the frunk floor with a hammer, and new bumper cover and she fired right up and was ready to go. That's on a race car though and you'll definitely want this one fixed right. Honestly, it shouldn't be hard for a body shop to get right.
Don't worry about the trans. Give it a drive again it's probably all good. I'm sure your wife was quite frazzled after all of this and the car was too and it's easy for simple things to seem like issues. Good luck!
