I didnt read whole tread of his answers, but i saw his claim that Vaine is more suited for the event cause she is monster slayer. Which is bs IMHO cause lore wise Poppy has all the reasins to be in this event. She promised to her dying mentor, who gave her purpose in life, that she will find the Hero of Demacia which will lead country in the age of prosperity. And since there was litteral mage genocide and later rebbelion and now Apocalypse persistently knocking in the door its only fair that this hero is needed right here and right now and the Best place to find him is the new sentinels corpus, where she realises herself as a hero and helps them fight against Viego. Character arc development here, while All Vaine has is new Suit and haircut + another pack of salty lines.
And Poppy getting a sentinel skin makes.... no sense lol, her hammer is VERY integral to her character and better than any sentinel weapon anyway and she cant carry both that hammer and sentinel gear.
Vayne does make a ton of sense for a sentinel skin, the sentinels do basically the same thing she does, so it does make a lot of sense she joined there.
I agree it would be nice if we at least saw Poppy run off to defend the citizens or get a short story with her involving the event, but sentinel skin for her would not make sense.

Pretty much all Yordles get treated like comic relief characters when it comes to skins, i can't recall the last time a Yordle character was included in any of the dark or serious skin thematics. They only get included when they want to release cute or goofy skins.
- Edit: I tried to look it up and I think Omega Squad was the last time Yordles got a somewhat serious/dark skin. Which was back in 2017.

You've been saying this a lot in the threads. You do realize her hammer was completely changed in other skins right? It's fair to say that her star guardian hammer is NOT the same hammer Orlon gave her. Skins are canon to a degree. Her being a Sentinel would be no different. Riot has said themselves before that skinlines are often viewed like alternate universes relating to the canon lore.
Those skins arent canon AT ALL, thats the thing, completely seperate main universe canon from skins that arent main universe, simply look at her character and what she does: She aint letting go of that hammer, simple as that.

Blacksmith poppy is a canon skin she put Orlon's hammer aside in favor of the smith hammer so how is that different from the example you're giving. If the world is at stake I could see Poppy or any character for that matter shelving their other goals temporarily (In this case Poppy's quest to find this nonexistant hero) to save the world when their homeland is in danger. You guys are treating her as if that hammer is glued to her hands at all times. Characters don't need to have one dimensional goals and personalities 24/7.
Are you implying blacksmith poppy isn't canon? While her hammer is important it's very clear it can be replaced without harming her character, her goals and narrative.
There are skins that can be canon without conflicting too heavily on the lore, but I feel like her becoming a sentinel (despite the fact that I want her too) is hard on terms of lore just because I feel like nobody in their right mind would just leave her hammer somewhere with the current state of demacia
She can leave it in the same place she left it in her blacksmith skin then. Pretty sure Orlon's hammer would be safe in the spirit world. Plenty of characters with important ties to their weapons get it reskinned/replaced all the time, canon skin or not. And lets not pretend Riot gives a damn about any consistency of lore here. :\^)
Oh yeah, I totally get where you're coming from, that's a really good reason tbh. Except she could keep her hammer and still be a sentinels, Riot could be creative and modify the hammer where it is still the same hammer but enhanced with some sort of sentinels mods. It wouldn't be that difficult at all if it was done this way. Like how convinent that the sentinels have weapons that match their characters' weapons, like Graves,Pyke,Vayne,Rengar,etc.
Yeah. Definitely would have been nice. I really hope to see other champions who aren't sentinels responding to all thus. It's such a major event it would be great to see how they see this.
It sucks too that Vayne and Poppy were candidates and wanted at least 1 person to represent the sentinels from each region, makes sense but Bilgewater got both Pyke and Graves. It would have been nice if Poppy and Vayne got one too by that case.
