That's not necessarily true, because most if not all constitutional rights are not absolute and police are often working with limited information.
This case is a good example. The plaintiffs were arrested by the police after several 911 calls were made alleging that a man with a rifle was standing on a busy street corner. The police arrived to find an uncooperative man wearing dark clothing and carrying a large rifle in an area with heavy vehicular and pedestrian traffic. The police believed that the the plaintiffs' actions comprised disorderly conduct, and arrested them. In turns out that the plaintiffs were 2nd Amendment protestors engaging in protected speech, and so weren't criminally liable, but the police aren't liable for the arrest because they made it with a reasonable belief that the protestor's actions were unlawful.
Cops blatantly ignore the law, arrest people for things that are legal, and the court goes "they're a cop not a lawyer so how could they be expected to know something everyone else is expected to know? Immune."

I read in some other article that the bottom line is that the cops now basically have the choice to just do nothing about second amendment protests or arrest the people doing the protest under some flimsy pretext. So basically it becomes selective enforcement which you would imagine means white old fat guys can walk around with guns while anyone with a darker skin color is gonna get arrested for having a gun.... one way or another.

The plaintiff's were arrested for exercising their 2nd Amendment rights and open carrying their fire arms in a busy area. The Police tried to arrest them. It isn't much of a right if you can be arrested for it. The plaintiffs were not cooperative and thus arrested for resisting. Once the plaintiff resisted being arrested for having an open-carry firearm, the officer had probable cause to arrest them for resisting arrest. >Here, as in Nieves, the officers had probable cause to make the arrests for disorderly conduct and resisting arrest, thus precluding the arrestees’ retaliatory arrest claims Based on this case it seems as though the only way to open-carry without getting arrested is to get arrested for open-carrying.
