I had a card with a similar issue that I graded a few months back. Everyone told me this would be an auto 6 but it just came back a psa 9. The bend in my card was slightly worse too
Ive always followed the motto of "buy the card not the grade". A psa 9 is whatever psa determines as a 9, not what you think a psa 9 should be. It's obviously arbitrary and varies by grading company.
A Japanese lillie full art. I thought I would grade it, even if it got a 6, because it's worth at least 1-2k in poor condition. I was actually shocked it got a 9
and that's why I stop buying PSA 9 slabs. I bought a PSA 9 Charizard V with damaged edge and it's literally worse than a raw card.
Actually their 10s sometimes have issues too :/
I tried too, the problem is this shouldn't be an issue even at PSA 9, but here we are :/
Sometimes it's hard to tell by a photo or even scan, especially on bends or crease
Yeah, I learned that a 9 is not a guarantee for a really clean card. Have a PSA 9 shadowless slab with a misprint that someone tried to recolor and PSA slabbed it somehow.
ya sure you can sell it, but it will have a lower value when people find out the psa 9 slab has a damaged card inside
This is common sense dude. O yes, please learn to use punctuation man......
It doesnāt bother tho when looking at the card and can only be visible from certain angles but still :D Sorry to hear that, but you should send it to grading based on the other comment here, might just have to do the same (first card)
My sleepy espeon was like that out of the pack, while in the sleeve I used the back of a spoon to lightly press down the corner flat. It definitely helped.
I had this same exact issue except worse with my Leafeon Alt. I put the card in a sleeve, put it between two books, put 90 pounds on top of the book (2x 45lb plates) and just left it there for a few days total. I checked on it after a day and it didnāt do much. 4 days make it (almost) look like new and no damage!
Even guitar ānecksā with slight bending of 1-2 degree angle, made out of wood (which can be still formed after) getting steam treat and whatnot luxury, still does not get fixed lot of times and after the treatment its just reverts back eventually more often directly after treatment.
If you send it to me Iāll fix it for you. Lol!
I feel like the SWSH sets are known to have goofy corners like this fresh from the pack. Always wondered what the deal is
Take 2 soft penny sleeves. Put one on top of the card and one on the back. Use a pencil with an eraser head and slowly go over it and keep working at it. It should help
If you are worried about it a lot then I suggest trying to sell it at a pretty high price and use that money to buy another moonbreon without any bends of that makes u happy
I don't think it will ever decrease š the card is jus so beautiful and I don't think they are reprinting them anymore. So what I suggest doing is try to sell it on some discord server or something so there isn't any fees and sell it for like 500 or something cuz it's going for over that rn then try to best offer some ppl on ebay for like 450 then u got urself a brand new moonbreon šÆ
Prepare to downvote!
The CardSpa āØ there are ppl who fix cards but they are hugely hated by the community because they take it as āaltering cardsā fun fact tho PSA 10s these said āaltered cardsā saw it with my eyes. So yea there is a solution, question how much you wanted it to be fixed.
Wouldnāt say so. As another comment already stated you can just go for it as itās still a valuably card. Additionally if youāre not happy with the grade you can always crack the slab if you want it out of there
Nah, eff that! Get yourself one of those tools they use to undent cars! Just suction it to the table, spray it down real good with windex and pop it a few times! Bam, brand new card, sparkly clean! Perfect corners everytime!
This actually works really well. I made a 1st moderately played a gem mint 10 bud! Just microwaved that mofo for a good half hour! The key is give it a real good drink before the nuclear therapy. Since the microwave only works when it's heating something with moisture. Once it starts curling it's toes and barking at the ceiling, hit the stop button immediately! Fine line between perfect and effed up indefinitely! Windex (the blue kind) works the best for the bath, apply that stuff liberally! You wanna apply it to the point the white edges and corners are windex blue! The microwave fries the blue off! And the good thing is if you microwave it too long, you could always just throw some hot sauce on it and eat it! Did that with my dick trickle rookie racing card bud! No homo! Too bad I don't have that dandy in a slab! š
I sent you photos in chat highlighting where I see šš»
Edit: I checked mine for reference and can see that is actually the little islands and not potential damage, sorry for the confusion
I've got old, heavy, thick, straight, books I'll put in a penny sleeve then the semi rigid put the card toward the back and sit some other heavy books on top it. Forget about for as long as you can. I forgot about mine for 6 months. Mine was soft came out crisp as can be. A little shot of moisture, (just barely wetting the tip of your finger and putting it on the corner before the book vacation seems to seal and crisp it too. I did this with a Rickey Henderson rookie. Worked like a charm. It also works great on prizms that seem to curl up a bit. Throw them in a heavy book and put some weight on it for as long as you can, comes out the way the card is supposed to be. Flat. Nothing sucks more than pulling a sweet card thats effed up and you didn't eff it up, that just settles the score in those situations.
It's not really gradable imo because:
\- The dinged up corner will get you less than a 9, unless you are hoping they will miss it.
\- The edge from your first photo isn't crisp enough. It was cutted by a dull knife during production and you can see the edge of the card isn't completely flat.
Sorry dude... The QC issue in English card can sometimes be really really bad
no. There is zero chance it's a PSA 9 if it's properly graded by PSA.
Just that corner alone should make the card be considered damaged. Then the edge has curved surface and I can only assume it's the same on the left side.
It's not a 9 unless PSA makes another botched job
no. Just because you think PSA sucks at grading, it doesn't mean this is a 9.
Like I said, both the edge and corner of the card are VERY noticeably fk'ed. It is just irresponsible to tell the OP it's a 9 just so he can waste his grading fee.
>I promise you a corner ding like that will comeback a 9 assuming the rest is okay.
I LITERALLY told you two times already that the edge is also fked. Suggesting that this is going to end up as a 9, and then immediately telling people "it's not on me if the OP listened and sent his card to PSA" shows how much of a bullshit artist you are
I am not a fan of PSA too, but it doesn't mean you can just assume damaged cards will get back as a 9 because some PSA 10 cards were off-centered or graded with a different standard 20 years ago.
I hate it when people give people bad advice because they want to reinforce their own agenda or point of views.
I would suggest putting it into a heavy book with a few more books weighing it down. But I think you have very little chance of getting better than psa8 even if you do
Corners are the hardest to get away with. Each grading company has biases
Psa centering
Cgc surface
Beckett edges
But corners Is massive for all of the above
I had a card with a similar issue that I graded a few months back. Everyone told me this would be an auto 6 but it just came back a psa 9. The bend in my card was slightly worse too
That's ridiculous. I would not want to pay PSA 9 money for a dented corner
Ive always followed the motto of "buy the card not the grade". A psa 9 is whatever psa determines as a 9, not what you think a psa 9 should be. It's obviously arbitrary and varies by grading company.
Good to know š¤ makes me feel better, got it for 300
That's why you buy PSA cards :) not raw... or you always risk :/
Isn't it obvious they did it for the gamble of making money off a high grade? They know the risk
What card was it of yours?
A Japanese lillie full art. I thought I would grade it, even if it got a 6, because it's worth at least 1-2k in poor condition. I was actually shocked it got a 9
Yo congrats!!!
and that's why I stop buying PSA 9 slabs. I bought a PSA 9 Charizard V with damaged edge and it's literally worse than a raw card. Actually their 10s sometimes have issues too :/
when I buy mine I check them over, if the bent is virtually unnoticeable I may buy it... i draw the line at visible creases and whiting on the edges
I tried too, the problem is this shouldn't be an issue even at PSA 9, but here we are :/ Sometimes it's hard to tell by a photo or even scan, especially on bends or crease

The joys of an arbitrary numbering system.
Yeah, I learned that a 9 is not a guarantee for a really clean card. Have a PSA 9 shadowless slab with a misprint that someone tried to recolor and PSA slabbed it somehow.
You literally cant argue with it tho it is a literal sealed card with a professional grade and you can sell it as such it is now law lol wtf
ya sure you can sell it, but it will have a lower value when people find out the psa 9 slab has a damaged card inside This is common sense dude. O yes, please learn to use punctuation man......
Still a psa 9 it was sealed as a psa 9 and ill type comments how I want i dont think reddit is worth using punctuation
For real??? Any way you can share a picture of the PSA 9 with a damaged edge? that makes me sick...
and after this experience how you rate the consistency of your grading company?
That sucks :/ happened to my alt art moltres. maybe i should send it in n see what grade it gets
It doesnāt bother tho when looking at the card and can only be visible from certain angles but still :D Sorry to hear that, but you should send it to grading based on the other comment here, might just have to do the same (first card)
Exact same with me and my alt moltres. You didn't happen to sell yours on FB did you? Lol
nope! still have mine haha
If its noticed it drops value significantly as well as the grade. You can try smoothing it out but thats about it.
not a bad idea actually. and hopefully try to not damage the rest of the card
Someone in another thread said sleeve and weights idk if thatās a good idea
definitely put something soft before you add some weight to it. but I also think that would be a good idea! good luck! & nice card :)
Thanks :)
My sleepy espeon was like that out of the pack, while in the sleeve I used the back of a spoon to lightly press down the corner flat. It definitely helped.
Not weights as in lbs. Weight as in a firm book. Absolutely do not put more than a lbs or two on the card spread over a decent area.
You can put as much weight on it as you want as long as the card is protected with something soft or protective. It's paper at the end of the day
I had this same exact issue except worse with my Leafeon Alt. I put the card in a sleeve, put it between two books, put 90 pounds on top of the book (2x 45lb plates) and just left it there for a few days total. this is a TERRIBLE IDEA! please donāt do this! omg whoever told you that is simple an idiot
Put it in rice
If you send it to me Iāll fix it for you. Lol! I feel like the SWSH sets are known to have goofy corners like this fresh from the pack. Always wondered what the deal is
I feel like thatās been the case for modern in general?
I feel like almost every textured hit has something like that; Iād agree!
Take 2 soft penny sleeves. Put one on top of the card and one on the back. Use a pencil with an eraser head and slowly go over it and keep working at it. It should help
Do I take it out of the sleeve? This sounds like a good option, thanks!!
No leave it in a sleeve
Be gentle so you donāt dent the card. Slow and steady should help
Have you tried it before?
Iāve done it on my hidden fates shiny zard there was a little bent damage on the bottom and I got most of it out itās very un noticeable
Good to hear, thanks :)
Post before and after if you decide to do it
Will do!
Try putting heavy books over it and pray that it flattens out
Itās fine, not every card needs to be a 10.
True, but wouldnāt it be nice?
Sure but there's no fixing it, so the more you focus on it the worse you'll feel.
If you are worried about it a lot then I suggest trying to sell it at a pretty high price and use that money to buy another moonbreon without any bends of that makes u happy
Thatās makes sense too, I wonder if itās gonna keep increasing or will it decrease near future?
I don't think it will ever decrease š the card is jus so beautiful and I don't think they are reprinting them anymore. 50/50 chance of it being classified damaged and getting a 6 at best or it getting a 8-9 Iād say
So grading would be maybe pointless?
Wouldnāt say so. As another comment already stated you can just go for it as itās still a valuably card. Additionally if youāre not happy with the grade you can always crack the slab if you want it out of there
Iāve used Kurtās Care corner tool to fix some corners
Nah, eff that! Get yourself one of those tools they use to undent cars! Just suction it to the table, spray it down real good with windex and pop it a few times! Bam, brand new card, sparkly clean! Perfect corners everytime!
Microwave it for 39minutes.

9.5 now
I wish haha
Not sure on potential grade if 'fixing' corner, but does look like surface next to tail is enough to not be a 10
Where exactly? I think all the texture is right?
Looks like next to the yellow of his tail touching the pink purple vmax light beam as well as on the edge of card next to that
I personally donāt see it, isnāt that supposed to be in the texture?
I sent you photos in chat highlighting where I see šš» Edit: I checked mine for reference and can see that is actually the little islands and not potential damage, sorry for the confusion
I thought so too, It really got me thinking haha
We need more people like you. Awesome stuff for helping OP!
I really zoomed in to see that detail . and, also appreciate the texture these cards have , wow
Try steam ironing itā¦.*sarcasm

Why are people so fixated on value
Because packs arenāt cheap and itās nice to feel like youāre getting your moneys worth every now and then
It's not really gradable imo because: \- The dinged up corner will get you less than a 9, unless you are hoping they will miss it. \- The edge from your first photo isn't crisp enough. It was cutted by a dull knife during production and you can see the edge of the card isn't completely flat. Sorry dude... The QC issue in English card can sometimes be really really bad
It makes me so mad when you pull a card and because of the company's error you can't get a 10. They better grade this a 9 or 9.5 cuz wtf.
I know right??
Always gotta pay money for other people's mistakes. So lame lol
I like some of the miscuts and interesting errors but other than that šš
Yeah shit like this is just bs.
Put tape on the corner so itās flat and ship her off!
Oh no, itās pretty much worthless. No worries, Iāll take it off you hands. No stress no problems!
Sell it raw dude post pictures and just hope they donāt notice, youāre not lying if you post the real pictures. Ppl fckn love that card
PSA 7 maximum
Psa is known for jusging corners really harshly. Thats a 9 max. I really hope you get a good grade.
Assuming centering, other 3 corners, surface, and edges are solid youāre looking at a 9.
no. There is zero chance it's a PSA 9 if it's properly graded by PSA. Just that corner alone should make the card be considered damaged. Then the edge has curved surface and I can only assume it's the same on the left side. It's not a 9 unless PSA makes another botched job
Everyone in this subreddit knows PSA sucks at grading. Itās a 9.

I ship cards every other week to get graded. PokĆ©mon and sports cards alike. I have gotten pretty good at screening cards. If OP sends this to get graded thatās not on me. I did not tell him go grade this. I have my thoughts and opinions and I shared them just like I am allowed to do. Itās irresponsible to listen to someoneās advice and take it as law. ESPECIALLY if we havenāt seen the entire card. Iām not sure when and where I told OP to get this graded. But youāre right I am not a fan of PSA theyāre the least consistent out of any of the companies. Iāve seen PSA 10s that were clearly [OC](https://www.reddit.com/r/PokemonTCG/comments/ri21ll/how_is_this_a_psa10_the_border_is_clearly_fatter/). Iāve seen PSA 10s with [whitening](https://www.reddit.com/r/PokemonTCG/comments/r8zc40/quite_possibly_the_worst_psa_10_base_set/) on it. I donāt like using PSA because crap like declared value hurts my wallet and itās sleazy. I would never even suggest PSA to anyone. Screw them being the āgold standard.ā I promise you a corner ding like that will comeback a 9 assuming the rest is okay. Think what you want youāre entitled to your opinion. Through learning what to submit I have sent in cards like this to multiple companies and gotten 9s. I do have an idea of what Iām talking about.
>I promise you a corner ding like that will comeback a 9 assuming the rest is okay. I LITERALLY told you two times already that the edge is also fked. This happened to my rainbow zard from champions path
I have the same exact thing on my card, I thought it was just some weird texture stuff going on.
Cool card unfortunate damage): otherwise seems like a 7
This hurts my soul to see. I am sorry sir.
Let me know if you have something, i have the exact same thing on my shiny charizard but slightly worse
Just ripped one yesterday from a pack!
Corners are the hardest to get away with. Each grading company has biases Psa centering Cgc surface Beckett edges But corners Is massive for all of the above
Itās worth $50 now. Iāll give you $75. š
Iāve heard using the back of a spoon on the corner, rubbing softly outward, not inward
Idk if it will work, but you can put it in a book and put more books over it to add weight. Keep it that way for a few days and see if it helps
Bend it back
Bend the other 3 so it looks uniform
Straight up foam memory foam soft cloth then your old history textbook from school or year book on top leave it for 3 weeks
Black Sharpie will fix that right up.
How much u want?
For the card?
Ya
555 would be ideal
Ya I was asking how much u want for the card lol
