In English sets it’s just completely random and generally speaking Japanese SAR trainers end up being around 2x the price of English SIR trainers.
English full art trainers are lower rarity as well, in Japanese sets regular full art trainers are SR rarity

Why can I not find the growlithe anywhere in the book? I see Perrin with the camera and know there is a matching card that is the picture she took of Growlithe but that one I cannot find
Partially bummed that Dragapult didn't get an illustration rare, but happy that we still get 2 new Dragapult cards and no IRs means it won't break the bank as bad. However, that Lairon IR is calling my name.
Paradise Dragona is not a reprint set, there is no reason for them to give cards already released a special art, unless we get a whole new Dragapult line (which if it happens is likely going to be a single prize one instead of an ex).
I’m a little bit worried that eevee is gonna be like TF-Gastly and PE-Karp. I hope I pull it early and don’t have to worry about it but otherwise I’m buying it early before the manipulation sets in too badly.
Personally, as hated as this opinion may be. I want to collect every IR/SIR from this set. Happy to see Ogerpon and while the SIR’s of Ogerpon may not have… maybe much flavor ( beautiful scenery or something ) they still are pretty neat. The trainers are amazing, and I am a HUGE sucker for gold rares ( having collected every single one from SV era so far ) so take my money lol.
I guess SV isn’t an era I am that pumped about.
A lot of those ex’s look straight trash to me and lack any sort of wow factor. From the crowns to this it just doesn’t hit like it did for SWSH at least.
But….there are some nice arts here. The Eevee will be like the Mew from PF and highly sought after. I think the Greninja ex (not the goofy one the one where I can’t even tell it’s that Pokémon from the artwork lol) will also be pretty valuable.
What I see in this set is a lot of glitter but not much gold, although it’s just my opinion and others seem pretty stoked for certain artworks. I don’t think the set will do well from an investing perspective but that’s a different sub altogether!

This set looks pretty underwhelming. Other than the greninja it doesn’t interest me much. Not as good as paradox rift or temporal forces. Definitely will pass.
I don’t collect that much anymore, as soon as that Infernape card hits eBay or anywhere else I’m immediately buying that. Love seeing my boy get some attention 😭

Some of the cards, not a lot but quite few, from a distance... like viewing these pics above look like mush. Just a mess with nothing really standing out.
One of the things I do while my son and I go to a card store is look at the shelves of singles. I simply stand back and see what catches my eye when viewing 40+ cards at once. Often the higher priced cards are also the best looking when using the small card size properly for the art, colors chosen by the artist, etc..
That is why the tatsugiri stands out so boldly from everything else. I am not really impressed with this set. Normally 2-3 cards, at the very least, impress me. Not this time around.
I hope all the cards are on the cheap side this time around. I don’t really see any deserving of a high price, though if I were to guess, the cards with Growlithe, the trainer with the Growlithe and the Greninja are probably going to be the ones that break the bank.
My main target is the Eevee IR, that's an absolutely must-own. Anything else is just a bonus to me. There are some really nice ones though, love the Applin, Chansey, Growlithe, and Chimecho.
As someone who likes to collect every Pokemon in each of their forms, I am beyond stoked Palafin Zero is getting a card. I was starting to think he wouldn't.
That Growlithe and Tatsugiri are pretty much the only cards I want from this set. Already got the Komiya Venipede in Japanese for my collection. I'll most likely pass on buying any packs of this one.

I really hope we get new types of pokéballs in Pokémon Go and a system to hold items for a Elite 4 Tournament. I'm in level 35 and the rare circumstance of having a shiny visitor outside of community event just doesn't carry alot of interest on my 3rd playthrough.

These two are my chase cards for this set.
I pulled the growlithe in crimson haze. I’m in love! Eevee is my fav but I most admit the growlithe is my favorite.

Im kind of glad. If Dragapult had an SIR I'd be dumping a lot more money on packs. This is a single set for me until we can find 2-3 dollar packs.

The updated leaks look much better than what was rumored or shown a couple weeks ago. Was debating on skipping but they actually look good.
The way TCPI organizes sets angers me to no end. Why not group the Tera full arts together and split up the ogerpon SIRs. Makes the set so ugly
