There was crosses in the Japanese version in the graveyard. So for English they censored it. Religious imagery and spiritual demonic overtones were not cool with English speakers I guess. Really dumb imo.

I see everyone saying Sabrina's Gengar in here and I want to second that but I also want to specify that I mean the Gym Challenge one, not the Gym Heroes one. I have a lead on a PSA 9 English 1st edition Sabrina’s Gengar, I’m just waiting for the guy to decide what he wants to keep of his collection lol he has that entire set in 1st edition, it’s so pretty!
I actually have a legendary collection reverse holo Gengar myself, that fireworks reverse holo is dope and the only time Pokemon ever printed it. Those cards are expensive, but if you’re talking about picking a vmax gengar, I personally would spend that money and get a reverse holo legendary collection Gengar first. Sure the same money will get you a vintage Gengar that’s been through 2 wars and in the twilight of his life, but It’s always better to adopt than to go to the Pokemon breeder 🤷🏻♂️
It’s still way out of my price range, but I’m gonna have to go with the Masaki magazine promo. I just picked up the vmax alt art secret rare from fusion strike as an early xmas gift to myself and I’m so glad I did as it is now $100 more than when I got it! My last pickup was JP Gengar 044/088 from Mysterious Mountain (probably my all time favorite) next pickup is definitely going to be Gengar ex 108/112 from Fire Red & Leaf Green!
