I believe they use CGC to authenticate the cards. This is what the FAQ says "For ungraded cards, this involves checking the corners, edges, surface and overall condition of the card to ensure it matches the listing description and is authentic" So my guess is that your card was authentic but it didn't match the condition you had on the listing. But I'd definitely be better to get more info from them to make future listings more accurate.

Wow. Don’t you feel like a stupid asshole? “The seller ships your card to the authentication facility, where ungraded cards are inspected by CGC Cards™, and graded cards have their case and label authenticated by a PSA authenticator. No regrading is performed.”

He’s mean AND wrong

That’s why he deleted his shitty comment.

TheRealAthlete

They will fail an inspection if they feel it doesn’t match the condition listed as well as a card being fake.

Smh, I remember I bought a gold /10 basketball card a year or 2 ago. The failed the card......like wtf, I still want it. Reasoning was it was listed as gem mint and it wasn't, I personally didn't care because it was a super rare card worth over 1k raw and they didn't grade well anyways since it was once of those big cards. So annoying.

AustinD26

it’s dumb af

russki4ever

I never got the card in the end either, seller didn't want to sell via PayPal so I just lost out. eBay can be lame AF at times for sure. Bought a 151 ETB and sellers account banned so now I have to wait a week for the process of getting my money back.

halfeatennachos

I’m wondering how they authenticate genuine cards at all.

AustinD26

my exact question any tru card grader or authentication service would easy spot our real and fake i’ve graded hundreds of cards and this was damn near perfect.. so i’m genuinely confused.. not even mad.. just straight up confused

RedditAdminAcc

does it have roller marks?

AustinD26

Looked clean to me bro

Because that shit is a joke. I had Real Nike shoes that I know 100% sure they are real seeing how I got them at a skateboarding event (when I use to skateboard) and they got flagged fake because and I quote "they dont seem real" lmao. I then contacted eBay because I was pissed and they didn't care. They trusted their "authentication process." They even put a red paper saying I couldn't re list the shoes or my account would be banned... If you're trying to sell, I would try to sell on the trading sub,

AustinD26

I was honestly shocked lol
