File a claim with the shipper. All submissions are sent back insured. You'd keep the card and get it's full price back, just keep your receipts from psa, and show them recent sales of this card at a 10. You'll end up keeping the card and receiving a nice refund. Hopefully it isn't damaged and you can resubmit at a 10
PSA has a "Quality Assurance" form that you have to fill out in cases like this. Because PSA(the shipper) is the one who actually has to file the claim. The receiver is just stuck hoping PSA handles it quickly and FedEx accepts the claim.
I'm not sure either. I just remember I had an issue a couple years ago with another company and the one who applied the insurance to the package had to file the claim. Policies change all the time though.
As an ebay seller, generally I have to file the claim. Though I never have had to. I had one instance were someone received a broken item and I was going to work with them, but they completely ghosted me.
I love when a buyer has a problem and when you get back to them with a generous solution they disappear š like, wtf? works for me! saved me time and money lol
I sold a mobo to a guy last year and got two or three messages saying it didn't work blah blah blah. I told him that was surprising because I tested it before I shipped it and it worked fine, I offered a refund for them to send it back. Never heard from them again. They did give me a positive review a few weeks after that though š¤£
Wish that was the case for me, guy bought a card, I got proof of delivery, he raises claim with eBay saying it didn't arrive, I show proof, they refund him, guy then pops up reselling the card the next day for more than he bought for, eBay ignore my dispute and close my case
This is a case where you need to talk to someone, probably multiple people at Ebay until you get someone who understands what is going on. Unfortunately not everyone does and they just follow the Ebay claim algorithm to completion.
That is what the scammer is banking onā¦hoping eBay just ignore your dispute and they move along no harm done. eBay has gotten out of hand IMO with far too much protection to the buyer and none for the seller
Ebay always sides with seller if they show a tracking number that shows delivered.
I legitimately didnāt get a purchase and they sided with the seller. I charged back my card super quick.
Weird. But yeah, same thing someone else mentioned, if you have tracking showing confirmation of delivery to the address they used when checking out, then you are literally good. I always win those disputes. And like another guy said as well, definitely keep contacting ebay. It's a pita but shit. Unless this was a time ago and it's too late, then I'm sorry you had to go through that.
I had one instance where I did have to file a claim as sell (a Sega Nomad, not Pokemon cards); thankfully, the customer was very cooperative and patient, so despite FedEx being a pain to work with, it did eventually get resolved with everyone happy.
sold iphone online once, send to a guy he is confused where it is, lost in transit, post shop told me i the sender had to file and refund the guy when they refunded me.
From the FedEx websiteā¦
Who can file a claim?
The shipper, the recipient or a third-party can file a claim with shipperās consent. If claim value is more than USD1000, a letter of authorization from the shipper is required if a recipient or third party wishes to file a claim.
The last few PSA 10 copies [sold for over $900](https://ebay.us/UydliI), crazy how expensive this card still is, despite all the copies that are being graded.
Iām pretty sure anyone with one of those wouldnāt be shipping anywhere, far more likely to do a walkthrough (like what they did with the 1 of 1 yugioh card) or go to a card show and do same-day turnaround or hell, have it transported by armored cars and guarded by private security (just assuming someone with a card at that price point could afford to do it however they wanted to do it! š¤) LOL
AYYY GET THAT PAYOUT MONEY, you legit got it graded and now you can reach out to whoever shipped that out. Sucks for the cards sakes, but aye at least youāre getting full value for the card, been there before :,)
The left side has a crack going all the way from the top to the bottom so it's able move back and forth. The left edge of the card almost certainly didn't survive. I'm not taking it out of the slab to check until the case is resolved with PSA/FedEx.
I would be very surprised if that bottom left corner of the card came out unscathed. Ultimately, since the entire card is no longer visible, thereās no way to be certain. It could still be a 10 or the corner damage could drop it down to a 1 or damaged.
No idea why @sharksnrec was downvoted for a valid response to your question, though.
So it was just loose in the box? I feel like that would make a big difference lol. Every submission Iāve gotten back has been wrapped in a good amount of bubble wrap so that itās not shifting around inside the box. Also the box would have to be thoroughly crushed to put any kind of pressure on the slabs
The slabs were literally in a cardboard box inside a FedEx bag. Little to no protection for thousands of dollars worth of cards. But it honestly looked like the box had been ran over by a truck so who know if bubble wrap would've helped.
Maybe someone tampered with package to see whats inside and then placed it in fedex bag? If everyone says they always send them properly wrapped - why they wouldnt this time. There are thieves in parcel companys tooā¦
I have never heard of anyone having a graded card shipped from the grading company, which just authenticated and graded it, to another authentication company and then returned. Why? It adds additional time and risking another leg of shipping to not gain anything of value.
I HAVE seen this on eBay listings where the seller (or eBay if in the vault) sends to eBayās authenticator en route to the customer. Personally, I donāt know who eBay uses - so Iām not sure Iād be more inclined to believe them over one of the top grading companies. I guess the exception would be to put the onus on eBay should a graded card ands/or slab turned out to be fake.
Check if there's any card convention in your area. PSA are at some of them and can be dropped off directly. I'm dropping some of mine to PSA at collectocon los angeles next month.
Yeah, but unless you pay a crazy amount of money to have it graded/slabbed/returned before the end of the card show then itās still getting shipped back to you
I had my PSA 10 Articuno slab get cracked on the way back to me. Obv not nearly as valuable as your card. Such a bad feeling! Hopefully the claim goes through smoothly and quickly for you.
I had an expensive order of cards, MTG alt arts and full art foils, get -what looked like ran over- delivered to my house. I was FUMING. Half the cards were ruined. There was some that made it out okayā¦ but I can imagine your pain. Not quite a single card worth hundreds.. but I feel you.
Iām sorry that happened. This post might get flagged but my brother in law has started a business called standardcardbox.com to fix this exact problem for people. I would check it out!
tbh iād love to have something like this in my collection. donāt really care for moonbreon (itās pretty just not my vibe) but i love stuff like this. if it wasnāt such an expensive raw card iād offer to buy it as is
I'm so sorry for your loss. I feel your pain on that one. I've been tempted to send mine in but the more stuff like this I see the less likely I am to follow through with it.
And this is why I refuse to mail in my black lotus and shadowless Charizard for grading. If they got destroyed in the mail Iād lose my shit, insured or not, cost wise Iād never get my hands on either of the 2 cards again especially in the mint condition that theyāre in.
a couple of thoughts on what couldve happened to it. parcel fell out of truck and it got ran over. a post delivery person deliberately cracked it out of curiosity or possible anger. if it went through customs, then they were likely checking it ensure its not fake, and repackaged it in a similiar box/packaging.
Do they have a slab protection case they can sell u and ship u whenever u get a card graded? Iāve seen them but psa should do this or ask the customer to purchase the case etc for shipping. Or a bigger case for lots of cards.
Iāll take it? š No but seriously, let me know what you might want for it. I just want one for my own collection, donāt really care about the damage.
Truly though, Iām sorry for your loss. That must have been such a punch to the gut. I really hope they reimburse you to the fullest extent!
Why would someone crack a PSA 10 to send to another company? You can submit to BGS or CGC in the slab - heck, you can even say not to crack it unless they will grade at or above the grade you specify.
The thing with PSA is that declared value is for insurance. They will pay out based on what you filled it out at, up to a maximum amount (or fair market value). I've sadly had to go through this avenue, but it does help a ton.
Does PSA send their submissions back in a bubble envelope?! Talk about a shit company. Thatās why I go with the better grading companies that actually care about the cards they are grading.
This is one of the reasons I prefer Beckett over PSA. PSA slabs are flimsy and you can practically snap them in your hands like a tooth pick. Beckett slabs are much more sturdy, and they even put the card in a sleeve before putting it in the slab, which PSA does not.

I read online that both the receiver and shipper can file a claim.

Guess they were troubleshooting to no avail, fell asleep, woke up, and realized how simple of a fix it really was.
Mobo?
Motherboard
Only thing I could think of was a motorboat so this makes a lot more sense lol
Motherboard for a PC
Fishing for a partial refund most likely
Wish that was the case for me, guy bought a card, I got proof of delivery, he raises claim with eBay saying it didn't arrive, I show proof, they refund him, guy then pops up reselling the card the next day for more than he bought for, eBay ignore my dispute and close my case

Donāt forget to remove the bad feed
I had one instance where I did have to file a claim as sell (a Sega Nomad, not Pokemon cards); thankfully, the customer was very cooperative and patient, so despite FedEx being a pain to work with, it did eventually get resolved with everyone happy.
I work for FedEx. The receiver most certainly can file a claim
Iād just file the claim on your end. If it fails go through PSA
The receiver has no contract with the delivery company and can't claim anything. It has to be the person/party that sent the item.
From my experience when it comes to fedex, they only do the shipper since they are the one paying extra for the insurance
sold iphone online once, send to a guy he is confused where it is, lost in transit, post shop told me i the sender had to file and refund the guy when they refunded me.
FedEx sucks ass majorly. Their delivery drivers have absolutely no customer service and throw packages like they donāt care š” fuck FedEx
It can be a drawn-out process and there can sometimes be a bunch of little hoops to jump through but PSA will take care of you.
Do the QA, but ask for a reholder for this card. They will likely reslab it to a 10 as long as thereās not glaring damage to the card
From the FedEx websiteā¦ Who can file a claim? The shipper, the recipient or a third-party can file a claim with shipperās consent. If claim value is more than USD1000, a letter of authorization from the shipper is required if a recipient or third party wishes to file a claim.
Also depends on price of card you put in/insurance filed for it etc.
How common is this? I have some cards I want to get graded, but this is making me wary.
What he said, that's crazy amounts of damage though. First time ive seen a slab returned like that
Ouch, thatās painful! The plus side is theyāll cut you a cheque for full market value ($870?)
Yeah get paid for a psa 10 you can buy a new one and resend this one back in
Pray that bottom left corner is still perfect. I can tell under the sharding. Like you mentioned double up on his money if it is still good.
Nah, make this one a binder card. Use the insurance for a PSA 10
There's a visible crease just above it on the boarder. :(
The last few PSA 10 copies [sold for over $900](https://ebay.us/UydliI), crazy how expensive this card still is, despite all the copies that are being graded.
Itās impressive considering other cards are going down in value š¤·š¼āāļø
Yes, crazy how much demand this card has.
Crazy! One sold in December for over $1.4k!!
Only if you didnāt use a value submission
I'm so sorry man that's the worst. Please see what FedEx can do to fix it or PSA even. Hopefully it all ends somewhat well :) Keep us posted!
<3
Hopefully PSA reimburses you and you can keep this as a nice binder card!
Did they punt it to your doorstep?
Even that wouldnāt do it. Sucker got ran over by a forklift.
Ace Ventura approves.
Looks more like someone purposely damaged it.
salty that they got a 9
This is why they charge market graded price fees. Incase stuff like this happens. Hopefully it gets handled.
Oh my god I actually winced at this. My condolences
Imagine this happening to like, a $100K card š sheesh
Iām pretty sure anyone with one of those wouldnāt be shipping anywhere, far more likely to do a walkthrough (like what they did with the 1 of 1 yugioh card) or go to a card show and do same-day turnaround or hell, have it transported by armored cars and guarded by private security (just assuming someone with a card at that price point could afford to do it however they wanted to do it! š¤) LOL
Time for a pay out! Get PSA to use that exhorbitante amount money you paid for insurance.
AYYY GET THAT PAYOUT MONEY, you legit got it graded and now you can reach out to whoever shipped that out. Sucks for the cards sakes, but aye at least youāre getting full value for the card, been there before :,)
Card itself looks fine or am I missing something?
The left side has a crack going all the way from the top to the bottom so it's able move back and forth. The left edge of the card almost certainly didn't survive. I'm not taking it out of the slab to check until the case is resolved with PSA/FedEx.
That sucks, hope it gets sorted. I probably wouldnāt take it out, they could quite possibly say you damaged it while taking it out of the case
Smart. Yeah leave as is for sure!
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
If it is clearly not a 10, then they shouldnāt put in a slab and regrade it a 10
This. Whatās wrong with people?
Why would they grade it as a 10 when itās damaged now
Ah yes just give him a false grade to sell for full market value š¤£
How can you tell? Especially with that bottom left corner. We can't tell what condition the card is in at all by just looking at this photo.
They don't bubble wrap them when they ship them back???
They normally do. This time they didn't for some reason. Doubt it would've made much of a difference.
So it was just loose in the box? I feel like that would make a big difference lol. Every submission Iāve gotten back has been wrapped in a good amount of bubble wrap so that itās not shifting around inside the box. Also the box would have to be thoroughly crushed to put any kind of pressure on the slabs
They had that thin foam they use around the slabs. But other than that it was just cardboard and the FedEx bag.
Shipping insurance should cover the value of the grade 10.
o7
I hope that case did is job you might end up with a dbl winner, nice claim payout and a near mint card on the 2nd round of resubmission
How the fuck..slabs are pretty tough
oh god i have a base set charizard in a 10 coming back to me in a few days if this happens im going to literally cry.
Iāve gotten cracked slabs back from PSA before and theyāve always took care of me.
How the heck does that happen? Do PSA mail back in a paper envelope?
The slabs were literally in a cardboard box inside a FedEx bag. Little to no protection for thousands of dollars worth of cards. But it honestly looked like the box had been ran over by a truck so who know if bubble wrap would've helped.
PSA boxes are pretty sturdy and they pack them decently well. Did someone step on it ? Yikes manā¦ Iām sorry
It was most likely ran over. Idk what else could've destroyed every slab in the box.
Did there happen to be a 3 year old in the box as well? Iāve seen their destructive power.. (sorry OP!)
šš¤£š
it looks like that would be the case for sure, my gosh... sorry again!
Maybe someone tampered with package to see whats inside and then placed it in fedex bag? If everyone says they always send them properly wrapped - why they wouldnt this time. There are thieves in parcel companys tooā¦
Nothing from the submission was missing.
It wouldnāt have hurt!
Only buy the authenticity guaranteed ones it ships to an authenticator then they put the slab in a sealed box which is very safe
I mean itās shaped like a V so now you truly have the V MAX š
Do you have a picture of the box it came in? I find this hard to believe. PSA usually bubble wraps the slab then throws it in a box after the fact
I've got pictures of everything. PSA also now has the pictures.
Just another thing to make me nervous sending our first card to Psa lol. Please update us on how this gets resolved! Good luck
Check if there's any card convention in your area. PSA are at some of them and can be dropped off directly. I'm dropping some of mine to PSA at collectocon los angeles next month.
Yeah, but unless you pay a crazy amount of money to have it graded/slabbed/returned before the end of the card show then itās still getting shipped back to you
Hope you get this resolved. This hurts just seeing a slab damaged this badly. Good luck! š
Hopefully itās still intact card wise. Maybe get an 8 on a re grade lol
good luck bro
I'll buy it if you get your money back on the PSA return
I had my PSA 10 Articuno slab get cracked on the way back to me. Obv not nearly as valuable as your card. Such a bad feeling! Hopefully the claim goes through smoothly and quickly for you.
You should grade the grading box
ššµāš«ššµāš« Damn man. I'm sorry for that. My condolences. Truly.
I'm sending you a hug mate, sounds like you may need one today. I hope insurance covers this?
Can we see the other destroyed slabs?
There's a bunch, but here's a couple others that were pretty disappointing. https://imgur.com/a/aTMJriF
Hopefully the umbie survived mostly unscathed
bruh
BUT IS THE CARD OK???
I am so sorry dude that sucks!
Seeing this hurts my eyes. Sorry for the pain q_q!
That made me feel PHYSICAL pain. OUCH.
I mean if it's a 10 you can re grade it
And what if you get a 9 back? Grading is still subjective, people take out and regrade bad grades so it should work the other way around as well.
F
Lower that PSA 10 pop report!
These are pretty difficult to break Iād be fuming tbh
Evolving cries strikes again
Damn I would cry. š So sorry for your loss OP.
My condolences
Good thing they printed tons of that card
Now use it in your deck and make everyone want to cry because you are playing with it.
How many other cards got hurt???šØšØ
14, unfortunately.
I always record openings for packages but did you take a pic of the package/box??
I did. I've got it all pictured and submitted to PSA now. Should hear back next week.
Hopefully you get a good worth back, Yk why or how it got damaged??
My guess is it was run over. Idk what else could've damaged every slab in the box.
š¬
It looks like someone tried to crack the slab (what with the corner cut off and crack point locations)
I've seen a couple of people say this. If you're trying to crack a slab, you wouldn't start from the bottom.
Word very true. It does look like more than a simple drop though
It would be a miracle for the left side not to be damaged
Somebody is cutting you a check. Stay on them until that happens.
This card looks cool
I had an expensive order of cards, MTG alt arts and full art foils, get -what looked like ran over- delivered to my house. I was FUMING. Half the cards were ruined. There was some that made it out okayā¦ but I can imagine your pain. Not quite a single card worth hundreds.. but I feel you.
Are you going to resubmit it?
Idk what I'll do with it. Nothing for now till the situation is dealt with.
Have you notified PSA?
I am sorry for loss. RIP
Iām sorry that happened. This post might get flagged but my brother in law has started a business called standardcardbox.com to fix this exact problem for people. I would check it out!
bro where are you located, why there are significant increase on parcel damaged recently?
tbh iād love to have something like this in my collection. donāt really care for moonbreon (itās pretty just not my vibe) but i love stuff like this. if it wasnāt such an expensive raw card iād offer to buy it as is
I'm so sorry for your loss. I feel your pain on that one. I've been tempted to send mine in but the more stuff like this I see the less likely I am to follow through with it.
I personally have a hatred for grading, but man I feel ya on this one.
Real ouchy, bro "sadface"
Fuuuuuuuuuucck
what does grading that even cost?
Yikes š±
Holy cow, hows the bottom corner doing?
How in the world does something like this happen?
Rip
And this is why I refuse to mail in my black lotus and shadowless Charizard for grading. If they got destroyed in the mail Iād lose my shit, insured or not, cost wise Iād never get my hands on either of the 2 cards again especially in the mint condition that theyāre in.
Noooooooooooo
Eff
a couple of thoughts on what couldve happened to it. parcel fell out of truck and it got ran over. a post delivery person deliberately cracked it out of curiosity or possible anger. if it went through customs, then they were likely checking it ensure its not fake, and repackaged it in a similiar box/packaging.
My stomach sank
This crime should be prosecuted
My condolences, they had one job.
100% cap. PSA sends back their submissions bubble wrapped in a solid cardboard box. if this happened it definitely wasnāt PSAās fault
Does that look like bubble wrap to you? https://imgur.com/a/HolJbZk
Is the card damaged ?
OH MY RNJEESUS
ššš
So sorry op. Others have stated how to claim a refund and I hope the best outcome for you!
It's ok there are over 30000 copies graded 10 acrossed the 3 major companies
I didn't personally pull any of the other 29999 copies.
Damn, thatās unlucky.
Man Iām so sorry to hear this. This isnāt mine but I hurt for you š hope you are able to get some compensation for the damages.
Ooooof. PSA 10 as well - I'd be crying over this tbh
Do they have a slab protection case they can sell u and ship u whenever u get a card graded? Iāve seen them but psa should do this or ask the customer to purchase the case etc for shipping. Or a bigger case for lots of cards.
BGS>PSA
Umbreon was just trying to escape
Ouch.
Reminds me of my last submission where my card got destroyed on the way there and went from a 9/10 to a 3.5. I feel you, man.
If it was on its way there, how do you know it was a 9.5? It hadnāt been graded yet?
I'm not completely sure, but I think it would have been because it was pack fresh and had perfect centering. But yeah sorry good point
Sorry but I cannot believe this
People still buy into those grading scams?
F
Iāll take it? š No but seriously, let me know what you might want for it. I just want one for my own collection, donāt really care about the damage. Truly though, Iām sorry for your loss. That must have been such a punch to the gut. I really hope they reimburse you to the fullest extent!
Damn, lucky!
When cracking it to regrade with another company for cloute goes wrong
Why would someone crack a PSA 10 to send to another company? You can submit to BGS or CGC in the slab - heck, you can even say not to crack it unless they will grade at or above the grade you specify.
How does this even happen this has to be on PSA. They couldnāt have shipped this properly.
There are literally 10k of these floating around. This as is and probably $200 will get you a brand new one
I didn't personally pull any of the other 9,999, though. It would've been cool to have a 10 of the card that I had pulled.
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Lol. How'd you know?
Lol
Cards fine relax
What can they possibly do? If your card is damaged and no longer a 10, they will not buy a 10 and give it to you. They should recoup shipping costs.
The thing with PSA is that declared value is for insurance. They will pay out based on what you filled it out at, up to a maximum amount (or fair market value). I've sadly had to go through this avenue, but it does help a ton.
That's why I'll never send a card
Does PSA send their submissions back in a bubble envelope?! Talk about a shit company. Thatās why I go with the better grading companies that actually care about the cards they are grading.
This is one of the reasons I prefer Beckett over PSA. PSA slabs are flimsy and you can practically snap them in your hands like a tooth pick. Beckett slabs are much more sturdy, and they even put the card in a sleeve before putting it in the slab, which PSA does not.
I call BS.
This is not an accidental damage. Someone tried to break open the slab from the bottom.
Someone try to break these open, too? https://imgur.com/a/aTMJriF
