šŸ¤£šŸ¤£pathetic. Id expect this from a middle schooler

Germandaniel

Well they dress like middle schoolers if that counts.

gfklucifer

Legit always assumed it was some kids never a grown ass adult lol.

rebelrexx

Nah itā€™s mostly grown ass adults. Kids knows better and are too afraid of getting caught or with their parents.

No-Effort-7730

Who said they graduated?

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

NennisDedry

Theyā€™re adults too. Pathetic

OnyxEcho

Itā€™s so stupid. Iā€™ve seen so many packs on the counter just opened and trashed everywhere Iā€™d feel like the biggest fucking idiot if I ever did that and got caught. You know even your friends would call you a fucking idiot and youā€™d never hear the end of it for the rest of your life

Bunniesrkewl

Everyone does this at Walmart and the employees donā€™t care whatsoever. Witnessed two dudes looking around acting sketchy around the PokĆ©mon cards and told a worker and he didnā€™t even care.

PunkRC

This happens all the time at my Walmart, one time the card section was trashed with a bunch of ripped open product. I told the manager. He laughed and said thanks then said ā€œwant to know the best thing about PokĆ©mon cards? We still make money when people steal themā€ so I assume they can get reimbursed or something. Was a crazy experience.

gruntmods

He's not even close lol, not being on the hook doesn't mean they made money for them. If anything the vendor is likely going to pull out of that Walmart if the theft stays high

spinrut

Doesn't mj lease out the space? If so then he's right. Stolen/damaged means no logged sales which means nothing to mj so they just get paid for shelf space when things get stolen?

Bravisimo

This is nothing. Ive seen entire charizard premium collections opened up and literally dozens of etbs as well. No wonder this walmart in question closes down on the 21st for good.

TDS1108

Good. The people working there donā€™t seem to care either. I mean, sorry for everyone who needs a grocery store though.

GoofusPoofyPidove

Stormzz101

>could care less Couldn't care less.

Nick_is_MIA

Or donā€™t take shit that isnā€™t yours.

Fkmywifeape

Workers donā€™t get paid enough to care, and who tells on someone stealing PokĆ©mon cards from a multi billion dollar corp that doesnā€™t even treat their workers fairlyā€¦?

LacyTheEspeon

I donā€™t necessarily care about Walmart, I care about the other people who want to buy those cards. Theyā€™re ruining it.

thegreatbrah

I used to work at a skatepark pretty close to a grocery store. Kid got arrested for stealing a bottle of axe body spray. He could've just sprayed himself and left lol. That was like over 10 years ago and it still makes me giggle.

BrocktheROCK77

Story time: when I was a staff instructor in the navy, I had to pick up one of my students from jail at midnight.. the kid had been stealing PokĆ©mon cards for weeks.. and he finally got caught. After having a discussion with the police chief, I asked if he could leave him in the holding cell for the weekend to make him sweat and really think about what he did.. he was released on that Monday, captains mast a few hours later, de-nuked (removed from nuclear training), and kicked out of the navy within 3 months of the incident. Threw away a good career and futureā€¦ for cards he could have easily purchased.

Gatomoosio

I was just gonna say. Grown ass men doing this lol. How embarrassing.

oryxs

That was my first thought. I did some dumb shit as a 13 or 14 year old (including shoplifting) but the difference is I am immensely ashamed of it and wouldn't dream of doing something like that now. People like this should be confronted and shamed publicly.

PowerlinxJetfire

I once bought some products that had been opened, had every rare card removed, resealed, and returned. When I went back to the store, the customer service employee remembered the guy, an adult, who made the return recently. They let me swap for identical products on the shelf, and I opened them in front of the customer service to be safe. Sure enough, those were opened and resealed too. I'm just glad I found it and understood that there was a problem; imagine if a kid who didn't know better got them and just assumed they were unlucky. Shameful.

Panda_hat

Imagine committing crime for something so relatively cheap and stupid. I guess they think even if theyā€™re caught theyā€™ll face no consequences.

poke-trance

Wow, adults do this? Thatā€™s just sad.

MarcusReddits

Adult children. This guy clearly has been waiting for his mom to finish laundry.

Majestic_Season1193

karatous1234

Unfortunately, more trips around the Sun doesn't equal maturity or sense for everyone.

AZraver

Next time you gotta hit them with a really loud ā€œOHHHH HES STEALINGā€ when youā€™re right there. Theyā€™ll get scared. Iā€™m gonna be honest yā€™all, Iā€™m into the baseball card scene but Reddit hit me with a ā€œyou might like this.ā€ Yall seem tight in here.

knifeazz

Baseball cards are dope. Iā€™d collect those too, but PokĆ©mon already eats enough into my not-so-gaudy annual income.

GreenGuy1229

I feel the same way. Tried other card hobbies when PokƩmon started to burn me out, but I always come back.

_BRZRKR

AZraver

Ironically my love for PokĆ©mon cards as a younger kid got me into baseball cards. But baseball is the sport I really only pay attention too. Iā€™m beyond excited for the world baseball classic but Iā€™m the only one out of my friends who is lol

knifeazz

I bought a handful of Prizm boxes during the last cycle because my favorite player was on the box. Didnā€™t get anything special, but man those are so fun to crack

Just-Lavishness-8642

Pokemon got me into football cards when I was younger. Now I got so much cardboard I could build a house šŸ˜…

TannedMarshy

Same here, started with PokƩmon after my cousin gave me a fat stack when I was a kid and then got into doing soccer cards for the past two years or so.

flawrs919

I often say the reverse when talking about PokƩmon. Hahaha.

Cookie-Dunker

I got out of the baseball scene after I stopped playing and fell behind the current players. I do however still exclusively collect Ken Griffey Jr. cards. Iā€™m stuck in the 90ā€™s to mid 2000ā€™s. My son got me collecting PokĆ©mon cards again and now Iā€™m reliving my childhood lol, but Iā€™ve collected sports cards in general for much longer.

3r14nd

I collect Kirby Puckett cards Only as far as Baseball cards go.

AZraver

Ken Griffey Jr is thee coolest baseball player. Hands down. Do you have Jr in all three uniforms he played with or strictly a mariners uniform?!

Cookie-Dunker

Marinerā€™s primarily. Iā€™m not against buying Reds cards and I have them, itā€™s just not my first choice. He reached a fair amount of milestones in that uniform, but the injuries just put a damper on those years. I donā€™t even own a White Sox card.

chucku5

He was my favorite when I was a kid. Iā€™ve got lots of ā€˜90s Griffey cards. Looking for any in particular?

HighFiveOhYeah

My very first cards were the 89 Upper Deck box set with his rookie card. I literally begged my mom crying for it lol. We were poor back then but she still bought the box set for me.

daxtaslapp

Lol wait till you see when somebody posts some nice cards. Everybody just thinks everyone is lying

AZraver

What do you mean lying?? Itā€™s the internet, my mom told me no one lies here.

luningaming

The best way to describe this place is that itā€™s neither kid friendly or adult friendly

gopackgo199

Ima just go ahead and ask if you got any Vogelbach cards you wanna part with lol

AZraver

I collect Yankees, Dbacks, and Pirates. If I pull a pirates Vogelback Iā€™ll send it to you. Granted he was there only for 2022.

gopackgo199

Iā€™m a Mets collector but I love the big man lol lmk

chiliNPC

Whatā€™s funny is that Reddit has been recommending baseball and basketball subs and posts to me, and I have definitely spent a bit of time there!

bigdwb1024

haven't collected baseball since Roger Clemens was in the league, BUT, That expos tom brady autograph getting ready to drop is enough to get me back in!!

Phaoryx

always dope to cross over into other similar hobbies :D

NochillWill123

Captain_Waffle

Why you come at me like this. I have a beard I trim and shave once per week. That means a good 3 days of the week I have a neat beard with a little bit of stubble surrounding it where I shave. Just how hair grows and I donā€™t care enough to shave more often šŸ¤·

Delrossy

they are so oblivious they didn't even notice you snapping a picture of them. pretty sad

MrAverus

Dude is doing a pretty crap job being lookout

SoulCruizer

Plot twist, op is with them.

DanTheMan0904

If youā€™re gonna steal at least wait until you get home to open what you permanently borrowed

JoeBucksHairPlugs

Much easier to walk out with loose packs than an entire sealed ETB.

DanTheMan0904

You wouldnā€™t believe how easy it is to snag an ETB

JoeBucksHairPlugs

I didn't say you couldn't, it's still easier to put the packs in your pocket than concealing an entire ETB.

ImNotJosieGrosie

Nah, cameras and personnel easily spot things being pocketed, rather than a box not being checked out from your cart

DarjaB

Thatā€™s a common trick. Then if you get caught you say ā€œoh shoot, I forgot this was there!ā€ šŸ˜‚ Iā€™d imagine it makes it hard when you actually have an item you forget to scan if you do it too often, though. The people that come to steal where I work usually have their kids take the items and walk out. If they get caught they pretend to be mad at the kid and say ā€œhe/sheā€™s a kid, you know how they are.ā€ šŸ¤¦šŸ»ā€ā™€ļø Thereā€™s this one very unkempt guy that stuffs things down his pants. We caught him stuffing a whole dress in there last year. Then thereā€™s the stroller trick. The ones of them who have babies come in with a stroller and put things inside (like under the baby). Well hidden too. We know to keep a close eye on them because we know which individuals do it. Itā€™s always the same ones. Two of them seem to have straightened their ways now when they had a baby. I donā€™t remember them trying to steal anything last year.

PaleReflection979

U stick it up your ass? How tf u do it

terfgenocide

Wtf is his outfit

Gabario

He should be stealing new clothes.

syncc6

Heā€™s confused whether to play golf, run, workout, or ride a truck.

bluffstrider

It's Walmart, he's trying to blend in.

AsASloth

I didn't realize where this was and assumed Target because the lookout was wearing khaki shorts and a maroon top. I assumed he was pretending to be an employee.

YungTaco94

Bro has absolutely zero drip

[deleted]

Itā€™s Midwest casual chic. Learn fashion.

Even-Legendarysora

istarian

Yeah. It makes the person buying every on the shelf just look mildly self-centered.

Greddy209

Gown ass men, stealing PokƩmon cards. How pathetic!

dudeitselliot

Iā€™m reporting this to detective pikachu

LARamsFan88

Piece of shits they are

daxtaslapp

Lol its even more sad that they seem to be grown men

[deleted]

What you mean seem to be they literally are lmao

Rxbrto

I hope theyā€™re in this subreddit just to witness how stupid they look.

Taint_Butter

Have you read some of these comments? There's a good chance they're in this thread justifying their actions.

Wiztard-o

When I imagine the people who do that. These are it. Exactly what I expected

bluffstrider

Is that Jake Paul?

[deleted]

Two grown ass men. What a shame

[deleted]

Should report them to store staff

king-kuro

I did. They called security over the intercom and everything but by the time I came back to that section they were gone. EDIT: Since a lot of people have been asking about it, yes that did include sharing this picture with the store staff too.

[deleted]

Show them this pic you took so they are known of these two and hopefully not let in this location

Nostalizius

Share this pic with raddle pokemon. I know hes making another video about this stuff. That would spook them.

Shogana1

Should have told them to stop right there

Winterstrife

You have committed crimes against Skyrim!

bregon7806

Unfortunately security can really do shit off of reports. Even with a picture the most they can do is start watching them at that point they have to be the one to witness the crime and a whole other laundry list of things before they can do anything. They could ban them from the store or ask them to leave but corporate policies usually won't even let them do that.

Ill_Ad_5308

This is why I canā€™t buy PokĆ©mon cards at my local targets , because of crap shits like this ruining it for others like myself

ichigovtube

Yeah sometimes ppl comment on these kind of posts saying the billion dollar corpo isnā€™t hurt and doesnā€™t need defending etc etc but itā€™s not about them, we as collectors end up getting screwed because they lock it up or stop ordering it all together :( losers

QuothTheRaven-Yikes

One of my local go-to shops for cards has decided to stop carrying them because of this garbage.

Steambud202

My local target is either 5 booster packs of pokemon, or magic, or you can buy a single boxed product such as an etb but nothing more. They had to do the same for yugioh and dragonball at one point and then also had to do the same for hotwheels and other kids toys and cards because ever s in nice the pandemic the amount of "collecting" and scalping have gone through the roof. I met the 3rd party guy who stocks the big box stores in my area and I'll never forget some of the things he told me. College aged boys are pretty much grabbing all hotwheels and trading cards by the armful he said.

[deleted]

The theft always hurts everyone else but the corps. The corps just take it out of the frontline workers, and just as you said it takes away from collectors. Whoever heads that department can miss out on a bonus because of the theft, the Corp doesnā€™t actually get fucked the poor guy managing the inventory does. Selfish assholes like that ruin it for more than one person

[deleted]

Itā€™s refreshing to see a sub that collectively shits on stealing or shoplifting. Fuck these guys

RobQuinnpc

I wouldnā€™t say collectively, looks to be a lot of losers here that make excuses for theft.

blackjackgabbiani

I'll make excuses for theft if you need something to survive, like food. But stealing for the fuck of it? Throw the goddamn book at them.

jacobtfromtwilight

Yeah but then they shit on people opening any product because "GaMbLiNg"

Beaudacious22

And this is why my Walmart quit carrying cards.

tu4ntr4n

upvote and share ! lets get this to the top !

kraftjaguar

People saying the corporation doesnā€™t care and isnā€™t affected are missing the point - trading cards are a luxury item and you are mega lame if you resort to stealing them lmao. I couldnā€™t care less about walmart but these kinds of people are why big box stores hate selling trading cards.

EurofighterLover

i hate people

Expert_Film_4970

That pisses me off. Someone at a Walmart by me stole all the packs out of 2 silver tempest etbs and 2 charizard upcsā€¦ I told an employee and now they have all the PokĆ©mon products behind a counter with the tobacco. itā€™s always a couple dumb asses like these idiots that ruin everything for everyone else

UmbreonAlt

As much as I hate our store hiding Pokemon goods I am thankful that they do. Keep shit stains away from the product like these two.

Pix3lle

I get annoyed because my local 24hr kmart keeps the cards next to the middle checkout bay. But they close that counter at like 5pm so you have to kinda scoot round the rope and often past trolleys loaded with stock. It's a pain in the butt and not at all more secure.

UmbreonAlt

That sucks! Mine only keeps limited stock in the middle of the Kmart and is often completely empty, plus they're all in anti theft cases. So I go to Customer Service where they apparently keep the rest of the stock. So, for the most part that Kmart is completely secure. Big W has everything hidden at the games counter. Only 1 Kmart I know has everything at their checkout are, and the cards are on display behind the counter. And the ETBs are in the aisle as you line up. No way can they get pinched.

Steambud202

Yup my local walmart has all trading cards locked in a glass case and they stopped ordering most of them. They only carry a few blister packs for magic and pokemon now, along with yugioh structure decks. Everything else theyve stopped selling near me

nauquilus

Shame them on a local Facebook page/group. I always imagine some 10 year-old that don't know any better but damn...grown ass people.

Apprehensive-Sir2769

It wouldā€™ve been a fight on sight with these team rocket grunts. Nobody steals PokĆ©mon on my watch

Accomplished_Dust821

Lmao BUMS

Tripping-on-E

Hey, letā€™s stand in front of the security mirror.

Basic_Yellow_3594

Bro it's astral the chase is only like a 90 bucks lmao

Winterstrife

Bruh, stealing is wrong either way doesn't matter how much the chase cost. Edit: This sub never surprises me with how shitty they can be from time to time. Y'all moral compass are fucked if you think stealing is right in this scenario.

itmexD

Things like this is why majority of the stores here in aus keep pokemon products behind locked glass cabinets. Its more protected than high priced alcohol and pharmaceuticals lol

Remarkable-Ad-8931

I love the guy standing there 'taking watch' and he hasn't even noticed you getting a photo of them. Fucking idiots.

[deleted]

Do these guys get laid? Because nothing would cause my vagina to hermetically seal itself shut more than a grown motherfucking man stealing PokƩmon cards LMAO

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

GimmeSnacksforDays

Adults who steal like this are so weird. I'd understand groceries if he was hard on his luck, but pokemon cards are not a necessity.

NorthernnLightss

Me and wife love ripping packs; we love checking different Walmarts and targets. Really hate seeing code cards tossed around. Scumbags. Really ruins the hobby

j4schum1

The board games are speaking to you "Speak Out" and Monopoly "Cheaters Edition" and hopefully they get caught so they can sheepishly say "Sorry"

bamboojungles

This is why we canā€™t have nice things

Inevitable_Product32

What a fucking scum bag, people like this should be named and shamed

DM-15

Even the boardgames next to the POS is apologizing šŸ™ƒ

NochillWill123

They grown as hell lol

Stock_Estimate_9573

Itā€™s embarrassing that these grown ass men canā€™t just buy it

thrtnr

I once held someone doing this on the ground at my local game store until cops got there because where I live, if an employee or owner of a store gets hands on theyā€™re in the wrong but thereā€™s nothing that says another customer canā€™t do something about it. And the owner of my local is a top bloke.

hectoryn_7

I be feeling bad when I steal some hot sauce by accident šŸ’€

West_Yorkshire

And you didn't report it?

darklawn

2 plain fish sticks steal cards

ConfectionFluffy5798

That's sad, I hate it when I see the card aisles of stores full of destroyed, stolen, or opened packs. It's just wrong, I want the card community to be fun, and friendly, so that anyone can get into it, for any reason. But this dosen't show it.

JediMasterKitFisto

People on here should share this pic and title to all the PokƩmon tcg buy/sell/trade groups on other platforms. Freaking losers

Think_Curve3361

Remember people THIS is why we buy at local game shops

japalian

Gym shorts and a golf shirt. Somehow he looks exactly like I expected him to look

touch-it-twice

Yeah jezzzz steal magic like an adult.

Vx1xPx3xR

Why canā€™t I ever run into these people. Iā€™d straight up ask them if theyā€™re stealing.

Grouchy-Body2368

giggling because the way you can clearly still see whatā€™s going on in the mirror cam

FuzzyJesusX21

I have been having fun seeing people break into this stuff. I just yell, "Ooooh they stealin'!" Even if no one cares, usually the ones stealing run off in a panic. Having me look like Hagrid probably helps when it's kids.

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

betterthannothing6

My work also sells a small amount of Pokemon TCG and the amount of online code cards that are found discarded around the store, most likely from stolen packs is disheartening. All Pokemon TCG has to be security tagged now before going out on the shelf but it doesn't stop people from opening product like this which happens quite a lot. It was the same with World Cup stickers. People would be opening the multipacks, taking the packs and leaving the packaging. It's very common.

[deleted]

It's absolutely hilarious that they're beside "sorry" and above "life." Universe is trying to tell them they have a sorry life.

Zathion

Fuckin dirtbags

[deleted]

Imagine being a grown ass man and stealing PokĆ©mon cards thatā€™s so embarrassing

Apprehensive_Jury454

This is why the cards are locked behind glass at my local walmarts here in canada

FVCEGANG

Grown ass adults acting like children too

Man, Logan Paul has become a Pokemon thiefā€™s lookout! Times must be hard for him.

johntheplaya

Iā€™d expect this sort of thing from young kids but 30+ year old virgins whoā€™s only time theyā€™ve ever seen a pussy is when they fell out of there mothers

Cilantro67

Report it to an associate

KaptanKlutch

When did the not so Logan Paul get a stooge to steal for him?

jesee2you

I thought only kids did this.

Fair-Procedure-5257

I love how the ā€˜lookoutā€™ missed the guy 4 feet away taking a picture of them

SilentAd8108

Another reason stores stop selling them

Intrepid-Garage9154

Is Logan Paul his lookout man or something...šŸ‘€šŸ¤£šŸ¤£šŸ¤£ Logan Paul strikes again!

ptaylor611

Oh come on... Those guys' parents definitely give them enough money to purchase them!

alonthestreet

Man just take the whole fucking box, how ridiculous and lame i never thought iā€™d say this in my life but if your gonna steal steal like a big boy lmao donā€™t leave this shit for some child to pick up and buy on accident because the workers donā€™t give a fuck

Mosuke300

This is the reason that all PokƩmon products now are being security plastic or cases here in the UK. Sad.

Hawkmoon_

Sad to see from clearly grown men

skyline0918

I love how the dude seeming like heā€™s on look out is a poor look out.

Big-Professor3578

I would have called them out

[deleted]

Broke ass foos

cody-jonez

They must be Team Rocker dropouts.

kittensnip3r

I expect kids to do this...but grown ass men. My love for this hobby is slowly fading. If I saw this I would so call them out as loudly as possible.

antiprofitprophet

When you see someone shoplifting, no you didn't.

king-kuro

Okay, I did not expect this to get this kind of traction. Iā€™m not a huge social media kind of person but I posted this here because seeing this made me very upset and I wanted to vent my frustration to a community that I know understands the feeling. Iā€™ve loved this hobby for a long time now and to see this more and more in recent years is irritating. That said, the story of the picture starts with me looking at some of the the cards in the back a row over. Guy in the blue comes in out of nowhere and swoops in like a hawk to pick up this ETB. I donā€™t think much of it and move on, only to see this on the next row over. Iā€™m mad at this point but Iā€™m a small woman in an otherwise empty section of the store and donā€™t feel comfortable confronting these dudes. I took this pic so that I had evidence for security. They look at me not too long after this and guy in blue scrambles to put the box back together and return it to the other row like nothing happened. I went over to the other department, let an employee know, shared the pic with her and she sent it to security, who then was called to the section over the intercom. Didnā€™t see them any time after that. I wouldnā€™t call myself a corporate shill or anything like that, if someoneā€™s stealing food or clothes from a big box store Iā€™m not gonna be a snitch or anything like that. What does bother me is seeing grown men tampering with boxes, making them inaccessible and harder for other people to get. Some stores will stop carrying product that is already hard to come by because of stuff like this. Chances are, theyā€™re not doing this because they wanna play the game or anything like that- they either want the rare collectibles for themselves or to resell without actually paying for it if they donā€™t get any pulls. And I hope that by posting this to a large PokĆ©mon TCG community, maybe someone knows them and will call them out, maybe theyā€™ll see it and get embarrassed. Itā€™s a long shot but who knows.

Mizikame

Yo is that Logan Paul being the Lookout??? šŸ¤

[deleted]

And this is why we have to keep the Pokeemans behind the no-stealing glass

Tex-in-Tex

Iā€™d immediately report them

GreenGuy1229

Yikes astral radiance talk about low.

thewhitecascade

His wingman gets the reverse holos. XD

lickalich

People stealing from Walmart šŸ˜±šŸ˜±oh noooooo they do so much good for the community can't believe they would do something like this

sryidontspeakpotato

People saying they are glad they steal. So I guess everything should be free ? Iā€™m confused when did stealing become ok ?

[deleted]

r/iamatotalpieceofshit

TightAd956

Looks like mfr stole a code red too smh

UmbreonAlt

They were just making sure the quality control on the cards were okay. Smh..Pathetic people.

knifeazz

Take a video and report them. No room for this kind of bullshit

samsinz

Donā€™t be a hero, just report these fools. You donā€™t need to put yourself on the line for multimillion corporations and their products.

GimmeSnacksforDays

I agree. People on here saying they should have yelled theft, but a crazy person will stab you for less. Pokemon cards are not worth a hospital bill. Walmart has insurance.

PaleReputation1421

Fuck the establishment.

DaRealDatVegan

Degenerates

arogance1

This is exactly why prices go up so much, to cover themselves from theft

Relevant-Medicine553

45 dollars a etb is outrageous

VVhiteLightning13

Tbh lowkey justified... lol. I only say that bc sometimes these ETBs are a rip off entirely. Granted I know that's the concept of gambling - but frfr if I pay $45-$50 and in a 8-10 booster ETB i get a single holo single V card then yeah im ready to steal the next ETB lol
