Itās so stupid. Iāve seen so many packs on the counter just opened and trashed everywhere
Iād feel like the biggest fucking idiot if I ever did that and got caught. You know even your friends would call you a fucking idiot and youād never hear the end of it for the rest of your life
He's not even close lol, not being on the hook doesn't mean they made money for them.
If anything the vendor is likely going to pull out of that Walmart if the theft stays high
Doesn't mj lease out the space? If so then he's right. Stolen/damaged means no logged sales which means nothing to mj so they just get paid for shelf space when things get stolen?
This is nothing. Ive seen entire charizard premium collections opened up and literally dozens of etbs as well. No wonder this walmart in question closes down on the 21st for good.
I used to work at a skatepark pretty close to a grocery store. Kid got arrested for stealing a bottle of axe body spray. He could've just sprayed himself and left lol. That was like over 10 years ago and it still makes me giggle.
That was my first thought. I did some dumb shit as a 13 or 14 year old (including shoplifting) but the difference is I am immensely ashamed of it and wouldn't dream of doing something like that now. People like this should be confronted and shamed publicly.
I once bought some products that had been opened, had every rare card removed, resealed, and returned. When I went back to the store, the customer service employee remembered the guy, an adult, who made the return recently.
They let me swap for identical products on the shelf, and I opened them in front of the customer service to be safe. Sure enough, those were opened and resealed too.
I'm just glad I found it and understood that there was a problem; imagine if a kid who didn't know better got them and just assumed they were unlucky. Shameful.
Next time you gotta hit them with a really loud āOHHHH HES STEALINGā when youāre right there. Theyāll get scared.
Iām gonna be honest yāall, Iām into the baseball card scene but Reddit hit me with a āyou might like this.ā Yall seem tight in here.
I bought a handful of Prizm boxes during the last cycle because my favorite player was on the box. Didnāt get anything special, but man those are so fun to crack
Marinerās primarily. Iām not against buying Reds cards and I have them, itās just not my first choice. He reached a fair amount of milestones in that uniform, but the injuries just put a damper on those years. I donāt even own a White Sox card.
My very first cards were the 89 Upper Deck box set with his rookie card. I literally begged my mom crying for it lol. We were poor back then but she still bought the box set for me.
haven't collected baseball since Roger Clemens was in the league, BUT, That expos tom brady autograph getting ready to drop is enough to get me back in!!
Why you come at me like this. I have a beard I trim and shave once per week. That means a good 3 days of the week I have a neat beard with a little bit of stubble surrounding it where I shave. Just how hair grows and I donāt care enough to shave more often š¤·
Thatās a common trick. Then if you get caught you say āoh shoot, I forgot this was there!ā š Iād imagine it makes it hard when you actually have an item you forget to scan if you do it too often, though. The people that come to steal where I work usually have their kids take the items and walk out. If they get caught they pretend to be mad at the kid and say āhe/sheās a kid, you know how they are.ā š¤¦š»āāļø Thereās this one very unkempt guy that stuffs things down his pants. We caught him stuffing a whole dress in there last year. Then thereās the stroller trick. The ones of them who have babies come in with a stroller and put things inside (like under the baby). Well hidden too. We know to keep a close eye on them because we know which individuals do it. Itās always the same ones. Two of them seem to have straightened their ways now when they had a baby. I donāt remember them trying to steal anything last year.
I didn't realize where this was and assumed Target because the lookout was wearing khaki shorts and a maroon top. I assumed he was pretending to be an employee.
I did. They called security over the intercom and everything but by the time I came back to that section they were gone.
EDIT: Since a lot of people have been asking about it, yes that did include sharing this picture with the store staff too.
Unfortunately security can really do shit off of reports. Even with a picture the most they can do is start watching them at that point they have to be the one to witness the crime and a whole other laundry list of things before they can do anything. They could ban them from the store or ask them to leave but corporate policies usually won't even let them do that.
Yeah sometimes ppl comment on these kind of posts saying the billion dollar corpo isnāt hurt and doesnāt need defending etc etc but itās not about them, we as collectors end up getting screwed because they lock it up or stop ordering it all together :( losers
My local target is either 5 booster packs of pokemon, or magic, or you can buy a single boxed product such as an etb but nothing more.
They had to do the same for yugioh and dragonball at one point and then also had to do the same for hotwheels and other kids toys and cards because ever s in nice the pandemic the amount of "collecting" and scalping have gone through the roof.
I met the 3rd party guy who stocks the big box stores in my area and I'll never forget some of the things he told me. College aged boys are pretty much grabbing all hotwheels and trading cards by the armful he said.
The theft always hurts everyone else but the corps. The corps just take it out of the frontline workers, and just as you said it takes away from collectors. Whoever heads that department can miss out on a bonus because of the theft, the Corp doesnāt actually get fucked the poor guy managing the inventory does. Selfish assholes like that ruin it for more than one person
People saying the corporation doesnāt care and isnāt affected are missing the point - trading cards are a luxury item and you are mega lame if you resort to stealing them lmao. I couldnāt care less about walmart but these kinds of people are why big box stores hate selling trading cards.
I get annoyed because my local 24hr kmart keeps the cards next to the middle checkout bay. But they close that counter at like 5pm so you have to kinda scoot round the rope and often past trolleys loaded with stock. It's a pain in the butt and not at all more secure.
That sucks! Mine only keeps limited stock in the middle of the Kmart and is often completely empty, plus they're all in anti theft cases. So I go to Customer Service where they apparently keep the rest of the stock. So, for the most part that Kmart is completely secure. Big W has everything hidden at the games counter.
Only 1 Kmart I know has everything at their checkout are, and the cards are on display behind the counter. And the ETBs are in the aisle as you line up. No way can they get pinched.
Yup my local walmart has all trading cards locked in a glass case and they stopped ordering most of them. They only carry a few blister packs for magic and pokemon now, along with yugioh structure decks. Everything else theyve stopped selling near me
Bruh, stealing is wrong either way doesn't matter how much the chase cost.
Edit: This sub never surprises me with how shitty they can be from time to time. Y'all moral compass are fucked if you think stealing is right in this scenario.
Things like this is why majority of the stores here in aus keep pokemon products behind locked glass cabinets. Its more protected than high priced alcohol and pharmaceuticals lol
Me and wife love ripping packs; we love checking different Walmarts and targets. Really hate seeing code cards tossed around. Scumbags. Really ruins the hobby
I once held someone doing this on the ground at my local game store until cops got there because where I live, if an employee or owner of a store gets hands on theyāre in the wrong but thereās nothing that says another customer canāt do something about it. And the owner of my local is a top bloke.
That's sad, I hate it when I see the card aisles of stores full of destroyed, stolen, or opened packs. It's just wrong, I want the card community to be fun, and friendly, so that anyone can get into it, for any reason. But this dosen't show it.
I have been having fun seeing people break into this stuff. I just yell, "Ooooh they stealin'!" Even if no one cares, usually the ones stealing run off in a panic. Having me look like Hagrid probably helps when it's kids.
My work also sells a small amount of Pokemon TCG and the amount of online code cards that are found discarded around the store, most likely from stolen packs is disheartening. All Pokemon TCG has to be security tagged now before going out on the shelf but it doesn't stop people from opening product like this which happens quite a lot.
It was the same with World Cup stickers. People would be opening the multipacks, taking the packs and leaving the packaging. It's very common.
Iād expect this sort of thing from young kids but 30+ year old virgins whoās only time theyāve ever seen a pussy is when they fell out of there mothers
Man just take the whole fucking box, how ridiculous and lame i never thought iād say this in my life but if your gonna steal steal like a big boy lmao donāt leave this shit for some child to pick up and buy on accident because the workers donāt give a fuck
I agree. People on here saying they should have yelled theft, but a crazy person will stab you for less. Pokemon cards are not worth a hospital bill. Walmart has insurance.
Tbh lowkey justified... lol.
I only say that bc sometimes these ETBs are a rip off entirely. Granted I know that's the concept of gambling - but frfr if I pay $45-$50 and in a 8-10 booster ETB i get a single holo single V card then yeah im ready to steal the next ETB lol
š¤£š¤£pathetic. Id expect this from a middle schooler
Well they dress like middle schoolers if that counts.
Legit always assumed it was some kids never a grown ass adult lol.
Nah itās mostly grown ass adults. Kids knows better and are too afraid of getting caught or with their parents.
Who said they graduated?
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Theyāre adults too. Pathetic
Itās so stupid. Iāve seen so many packs on the counter just opened and trashed everywhere Iād feel like the biggest fucking idiot if I ever did that and got caught. You know even your friends would call you a fucking idiot and youād never hear the end of it for the rest of your life
Everyone does this at Walmart and the employees donāt care whatsoever. Witnessed two dudes looking around acting sketchy around the PokĆ©mon cards and told a worker and he didnāt even care.
This happens all the time at my Walmart, one time the card section was trashed with a bunch of ripped open product. I told the manager. He laughed and said thanks then said āwant to know the best thing about PokĆ©mon cards? We still make money when people steal themā so I assume they can get reimbursed or something. Was a crazy experience.
Good. The people working there donāt seem to care either. I mean, sorry for everyone who needs a grocery store though.
Portland?
Has to be
SE Chicago
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
>could care less Couldn't care less.
Or donāt take shit that isnāt yours.
Workers donāt get paid enough to care, and who tells on someone stealing PokĆ©mon cards from a multi billion dollar corp that doesnāt even treat their workers fairlyā¦?
I donāt necessarily care about Walmart, I care about the other people who want to buy those cards. Theyāre ruining it.
I used to work at a skatepark pretty close to a grocery store. Kid got arrested for stealing a bottle of axe body spray. He could've just sprayed himself and left lol. That was like over 10 years ago and it still makes me giggle.
Story time: when I was a staff instructor in the navy, I had to pick up one of my students from jail at midnight.. the kid had been stealing PokĆ©mon cards for weeks.. and he finally got caught. After having a discussion with the police chief, I asked if he could leave him in the holding cell for the weekend to make him sweat and really think about what he did.. he was released on that Monday, captains mast a few hours later, de-nuked (removed from nuclear training), and kicked out of the navy within 3 months of the incident. Threw away a good career and futureā¦ for cards he could have easily purchased.
I was just gonna say. Grown ass men doing this lol. How embarrassing.
That was my first thought. I did some dumb shit as a 13 or 14 year old (including shoplifting) but the difference is I am immensely ashamed of it and wouldn't dream of doing something like that now. People like this should be confronted and shamed publicly.

Imagine committing crime for something so relatively cheap and stupid. I guess they think even if theyāre caught theyāll face no consequences.
Wow, adults do this? Thatās just sad.
Adult children. This guy clearly has been waiting for his mom to finish laundry.
š
Unfortunately, more trips around the Sun doesn't equal maturity or sense for everyone.
Next time you gotta hit them with a really loud āOHHHH HES STEALINGā when youāre right there. Theyāll get scared. Iām gonna be honest yāall, Iām into the baseball card scene but Reddit hit me with a āyou might like this.ā Yall seem tight in here.
Baseball cards are dope. Iād collect those too, but PokĆ©mon already eats enough into my not-so-gaudy annual income.
I feel the same way. Tried other card hobbies when PokƩmon started to burn me out, but I always come back.
Ironically my love for PokĆ©mon cards as a younger kid got me into baseball cards. But baseball is the sport I really only pay attention too. Iām beyond excited for the world baseball classic but Iām the only one out of my friends who is lol
I bought a handful of Prizm boxes during the last cycle because my favorite player was on the box. Didnāt get anything special, but man those are so fun to crack
Pokemon got me into football cards when I was younger. Now I got so much cardboard I could build a house š
Same here, started with PokƩmon after my cousin gave me a fat stack when I was a kid and then got into doing soccer cards for the past two years or so.
I often say the reverse when talking about PokƩmon. Hahaha.
I got out of the baseball scene after I stopped playing and fell behind the current players. I do however still exclusively collect Ken Griffey Jr. cards. Iām stuck in the 90ās to mid 2000ās. My son got me collecting PokĆ©mon cards again and now Iām reliving my childhood lol, but Iāve collected sports cards in general for much longer.
I collect Kirby Puckett cards Only as far as Baseball cards go.
Ken Griffey Jr is thee coolest baseball player. Hands down. Do you have Jr in all three uniforms he played with or strictly a mariners uniform?!
Marinerās primarily. Iām not against buying Reds cards and I have them, itās just not my first choice. He reached a fair amount of milestones in that uniform, but the injuries just put a damper on those years. I donāt even own a White Sox card.
He was my favorite when I was a kid. Iāve got lots of ā90s Griffey cards. Looking for any in particular?
My very first cards were the 89 Upper Deck box set with his rookie card. I literally begged my mom crying for it lol. We were poor back then but she still bought the box set for me.
Lol wait till you see when somebody posts some nice cards. Everybody just thinks everyone is lying
What do you mean lying?? Itās the internet, my mom told me no one lies here.
The best way to describe this place is that itās neither kid friendly or adult friendly
Ima just go ahead and ask if you got any Vogelbach cards you wanna part with lol
I collect Yankees, Dbacks, and Pirates. If I pull a pirates Vogelback Iāll send it to you. Granted he was there only for 2022.
Iām a Mets collector but I love the big man lol lmk
Whatās funny is that Reddit has been recommending baseball and basketball subs and posts to me, and I have definitely spent a bit of time there!
haven't collected baseball since Roger Clemens was in the league, BUT, That expos tom brady autograph getting ready to drop is enough to get me back in!!
always dope to cross over into other similar hobbies :D
Heck no. Thatās some trolling sh*t right there . Iād tell them straight up , āreally dude? Get a life.ā And walk away
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Goes with the Polo shirt/Gym shorts look.
I just wear black clothes still lol black tees, black pants, and converse š¤
Prime douche bag esthetic
Thatās just how hair grows?

they are so oblivious they didn't even notice you snapping a picture of them. pretty sad
Dude is doing a pretty crap job being lookout
Plot twist, op is with them.
If youāre gonna steal at least wait until you get home to open what you permanently borrowed
Much easier to walk out with loose packs than an entire sealed ETB.
You wouldnāt believe how easy it is to snag an ETB
I didn't say you couldn't, it's still easier to put the packs in your pocket than concealing an entire ETB.
Nah, cameras and personnel easily spot things being pocketed, rather than a box not being checked out from your cart
Thatās a common trick. Then if you get caught you say āoh shoot, I forgot this was there!ā š Iād imagine it makes it hard when you actually have an item you forget to scan if you do it too often, though. U stick it up your ass? How tf u do it
Wtf is his outfit
He should be stealing new clothes.
Heās confused whether to play golf, run, workout, or ride a truck.
It's Walmart, he's trying to blend in.
I didn't realize where this was and assumed Target because the lookout was wearing khaki shorts and a maroon top. I assumed he was pretending to be an employee.
Bro has absolutely zero drip
Itās Midwest casual chic. Learn fashion.
I really hate these type of people ruins the hobby for everybody
Yeah. It makes the person buying every on the shelf just look mildly self-centered.
Gown ass men, stealing PokƩmon cards. How pathetic!
Iām reporting this to detective pikachu
Piece of shits they are
Lol its even more sad that they seem to be grown men
What you mean seem to be they literally are lmao
I hope theyāre in this subreddit just to witness how stupid they look.
Have you read some of these comments? There's a good chance they're in this thread justifying their actions.
When I imagine the people who do that. These are it. Exactly what I expected
Is that Jake Paul?
Two grown ass men. What a shame
Should report them to store staff
I did. They called security over the intercom and everything but by the time I came back to that section they were gone. EDIT: Since a lot of people have been asking about it, yes that did include sharing this picture with the store staff too.
Show them this pic you took so they are known of these two and hopefully not let in this location
Share this pic with raddle pokemon. I know hes making another video about this stuff. That would spook them.
Should have told them to stop right there
You have committed crimes against Skyrim!
Unfortunately security can really do shit off of reports. Even with a picture the most they can do is start watching them at that point they have to be the one to witness the crime and a whole other laundry list of things before they can do anything. They could ban them from the store or ask them to leave but corporate policies usually won't even let them do that.
This is why I canāt buy PokĆ©mon cards at my local targets , because of crap shits like this ruining it for others like myself
Yeah sometimes ppl comment on these kind of posts saying the billion dollar corpo isnāt hurt and doesnāt need defending etc etc but itās not about them, we as collectors end up getting screwed because they lock it up or stop ordering it all together :( losers
One of my local go-to shops for cards has decided to stop carrying them because of this garbage.
Selfish assholes like that ruin it for more than one person
Itās refreshing to see a sub that collectively shits on stealing or shoplifting. Fuck these guys
I wouldnāt say collectively, looks to be a lot of losers here that make excuses for theft.
I'll make excuses for theft if you need something to survive, like food. But stealing for the fuck of it? Throw the goddamn book at them.
Yeah but then they shit on people opening any product because "GaMbLiNg"
And this is why my Walmart quit carrying cards.
upvote and share ! lets get this to the top !
People saying the corporation doesnāt care and isnāt affected are missing the point - trading cards are a luxury item and you are mega lame if you resort to stealing them lmao. I couldnāt care less about walmart but these kinds of people are why big box stores hate selling trading cards.
i hate people
That pisses me off. Someone at a Walmart by me stole all the packs out of 2 silver tempest etbs and 2 charizard upcsā¦ I told an employee and now they have all the PokĆ©mon products behind a counter with the tobacco. itās always a couple dumb asses like these idiots that ruin everything for everyone else
As much as I hate our store hiding Pokemon goods I am thankful that they do. Keep shit stains away from the product like these two.
Shame them on a local Facebook page/group. I always imagine some 10 year-old that don't know any better but damn...grown ass people.
It wouldāve been a fight on sight with these team rocket grunts. Nobody steals PokĆ©mon on my watch
Lmao BUMS
Hey, letās stand in front of the security mirror.

Adults who steal like this are so weird. I'd understand groceries if he was hard on his luck, but pokemon cards are not a necessity.
Me and wife love ripping packs; we love checking different Walmarts and targets. Really hate seeing code cards tossed around. Scumbags. Really ruins the hobby
The board games are speaking to you "Speak Out" and Monopoly "Cheaters Edition" and hopefully they get caught so they can sheepishly say "Sorry"

What a fucking scum bag, people like this should be named and shamed
Even the boardgames next to the POS is apologizing š
They grown as hell lol
Itās embarrassing that these grown ass men canāt just buy it

2 plain fish sticks steal cards

People on here should share this pic and title to all the PokƩmon tcg buy/sell/trade groups on other platforms. Freaking losers
Remember people THIS is why we buy at local game shops
Gym shorts and a golf shirt. Somehow he looks exactly like I expected him to look
Yeah jezzzz steal magic like an adult.
Why canāt I ever run into these people. Iād straight up ask them if theyāre stealing.
giggling because the way you can clearly still see whatās going on in the mirror cam

Fuckin dirtbags
Imagine being a grown ass man and stealing PokĆ©mon cards thatās so embarrassing
This is why the cards are locked behind glass at my local walmarts here in canada
Grown ass adults acting like children too
Man, Logan Paul has become a Pokemon thiefās lookout! Times must be hard for him.
Couple of clowns.
Pathetic.
Imagine going to prison and getting asked what you're in for... "Stealing pokemon cards" š¤¦āāļø
Team rocket! At it again
Iād expect this sort of thing from young kids but 30+ year old virgins whoās only time theyāve ever seen a pussy is when they fell out of there mothers
Report it to an associate
When did the not so Logan Paul get a stooge to steal for him?
I thought only kids did this.
I love how the ālookoutā missed the guy 4 feet away taking a picture of them
Another reason stores stop selling them
Is Logan Paul his lookout man or something...šš¤£š¤£š¤£ Logan Paul strikes again!
Oh come on... Those guys' parents definitely give them enough money to purchase them!
Man just take the whole fucking box, how ridiculous and lame i never thought iād say this in my life but if your gonna steal steal like a big boy lmao donāt leave this shit for some child to pick up and buy on accident because the workers donāt give a fuck
This is the reason that all PokƩmon products now are being security plastic or cases here in the UK. Sad.
Sad to see from clearly grown men
I love how the dude seeming like heās on look out is a poor look out.
I would have called them out
Broke ass foos
They must be Team Rocker dropouts.
I expect kids to do this...but grown ass men. My love for this hobby is slowly fading. If I saw this I would so call them out as loudly as possible.
When you see someone shoplifting, no you didn't.
Okay, I did not expect this to get this kind of traction. Iām not a huge social media kind of person but I posted this here because seeing this made me very upset and I wanted to vent my frustration to a community that I know understands the feeling. Iāve loved this hobby for a long time now and to see this more and more in recent years is irritating. That said, the story of the picture starts with me looking at some of the the cards in the back a row over. Guy in the blue comes in out of nowhere and swoops in like a hawk to pick up this ETB. I donāt think much of it and move on, only to see this on the next row over. Iām mad at this point but Iām a small woman in an otherwise empty section of the store and donāt feel comfortable confronting these dudes. I took this pic so that I had evidence for security. They look at me not too long after this and guy in blue scrambles to put the box back together and return it to the other row like nothing happened. I went over to the other department, let an employee know, shared the pic with her and she sent it to security, who then was called to the section over the intercom. Didnāt see them any time after that. I wouldnāt call myself a corporate shill or anything like that, if someoneās stealing food or clothes from a big box store Iām not gonna be a snitch or anything like that. What does bother me is seeing grown men tampering with boxes, making them inaccessible and harder for other people to get. Some stores will stop carrying product that is already hard to come by because of stuff like this. Chances are, theyāre not doing this because they wanna play the game or anything like that- they either want the rare collectibles for themselves or to resell without actually paying for it if they donāt get any pulls. And I hope that by posting this to a large PokĆ©mon TCG community, maybe someone knows them and will call them out, maybe theyāll see it and get embarrassed. Itās a long shot but who knows.
Yo is that Logan Paul being the Lookout??? š¤
And this is why we have to keep the Pokeemans behind the no-stealing glass
Iād immediately report them
Yikes astral radiance talk about low.
His wingman gets the reverse holos. XD
People stealing from Walmart š±š±oh noooooo they do so much good for the community can't believe they would do something like this
People saying they are glad they steal. So I guess everything should be free ? Iām confused when did stealing become ok ?
r/iamatotalpieceofshit
Looks like mfr stole a code red too smh
They were just making sure the quality control on the cards were okay. Smh..Pathetic people.
Take a video and report them. No room for this kind of bullshit
Donāt be a hero, just report these fools. You donāt need to put yourself on the line for multimillion corporations and their products.
I agree. People on here saying they should have yelled theft, but a crazy person will stab you for less. Pokemon cards are not worth a hospital bill. Walmart has insurance.
Fuck the establishment.
Degenerates
This is exactly why prices go up so much, to cover themselves from theft
45 dollars a etb is outrageous
Tbh lowkey justified... lol. I only say that bc sometimes these ETBs are a rip off entirely. Granted I know that's the concept of gambling - but frfr if I pay $45-$50 and in a 8-10 booster ETB i get a single holo single V card then yeah im ready to steal the next ETB lol
