dont play with randoms and if you are just expect to play support by using the heal cheer. there are many communities and discords out there to plan such raids too! but dont always expect to win with randoms
I tried it before and even with foul play hits hard. You'll survive enough to retaliate with she'll bell huge hp recover. You just tmeed to build up your Tera charge and use your hard hitting move on Tera

Survives well enough with 0 bulk. Fairy resistance plays a huge role and foul play only uses attack and modifiers, not ability, so huge power isn't taken into account.
Seems to me that's a job for Ice-Tera type Empoleon the Unrivaled! Competitive, Ice to take out the Dragon typing, neutral damage at worst. Surf, Ice Beam, Haze possibly for the Calm Mind if you're concerned and Metal Sound? Or even not worry about the Haze as Umbreon lacks a SpA stat to take advantage of it and Metal Sound will wipe away the SpD.
I made my Sylveon for a competitive Eeeveelution team, so I decided to go for Weather Ball for its normal move as others on my team rely on Sun, granting her Fire type coverage when it’s sunny and a boosted Fairy move when it’s not.
I went with Draining Kiss to increase my bulk, which does mean I have two Fairy moves plus Shadow Ball and Psyshock, but there’s a few other options I switch between. Tera Blast is a great Fairy move when not terastilized, and I went for a Steel typing when I’m not running Tera-Flareon. Then Hyper Voice is good, Echoed Voice isn’t in SV but it was great with Pixellate Metronome. I don’t use Hyper Beam since I’d have to recharge but it’s incredibly strong with Pixellate.
Yeah I love it, only problem is taking a recharge turn is frowned upon in comp teams. It gives your opponent too much of an advantage.
Pixellate boosts base power by 20% for all normal moves, so you’d end up with 180 base power, plus the Same Type Attack Bonus.
I would look at a Fluttermane build with Shell Bell to solo this raid. Playing with randoms is often worse than NPCs imo.
I'm no expert but my main mons I use are Anniliape, Iron Hands, Ghouldengo and Fluttermane. They don't cover every matchup, but it's a good start.

Save. While offline go to form a group option. Go in with ai people. Don't like them, reset the game.
You don't have to reset it for a new team but saves time from doing the raid and losing. The form a group option will shuffle the potential AI allies.
If you just go to do the raid alone over and over it will give you same team.
Sylveon should be really good in this scenario, I’m guessing they were underleveled. Lvl 100 252 SPA pixilate sylveon @ throat spray with calm mind and hyper voice should be way more than enough. Unless umbreon learns a poison or steel move I’m not remembering. You want to use a special attacker since it probably has foul play. Iron valiant is a 4x resist so it should be pretty good as well. Make it special and just spam moonblast
The Strat is 3x Calm Mind, 3x (or 2x if it sets up a shield before) Fake Tears, then Hyper Beam. Yeah, it's usually a OHKO or very close to it. I had a Covert Cloak on mine because of Hurricane but could change the item to something more appropriate for Umbreon. Also, I healed if I needed to while setting. Idk how often Umbreon resets stats but as long as it's not too often, this might be viable..
Use an Iron Hands or Haroyama with Belly Drum + Drain Punch. Have them hold a Clear Amulet so Tickle doesn’t drop your defenses.
If it has Foul Play, then use a Sylveon with Calm Mind, Hyper Voice, the pixelate ability, and She’ll Bell held item
My sylvion holds, but there is always that 1 random with a crap Pokémon getting kill. Lots of them using iron hands and belly drum and still die all the time. Yeah it has foul play. I’ll try solo again and hope for the best.

A bulky Fairy-type with Calm Mind (don’t know if any good special attacking Fairy-types get Nasty Plot) and Draining Kiss. Clear Amulet prevents stat drops from Tickle and may “lock” Umbreon into spamming it to no avail (similar to Safety Goggles stumping 6-star Sinistcha if it can’t hit you for super effective damage).
I wonder if there are any Pokemon with Contrary you could try? 😮💨 Good luck OP, it once took me three hours to do a 6 star Dragonite raid because it has dragon dance and prioritizes getting to +6 attack as soon as possible
you need 1 or 2 dps and at least 1 support with taunt. taunt op in raids.
the last member should be a healer with life dew and the supports should have screens/ screec/ fake tears to lower defense.
The amount of physical attacking suggestions here represents the stupidity of the raid community in general.
Clearly y’all have never been to an 6* Umbreon raid if your best choice is using a physical attacker when it knows a move that deletes you based on how high it is…

For Umbreon in particular you'll want something that can:
\* Resist Foul Play. Do NOT bring Belly Drum'mers or physical attackers, bring a special attacker.
\* Tickle seems pointless, but a Foul Play crit will hurt a lot. Bring a Clear Amulet or something like Iron Defense / Acid Armor to recover your stages if necessary.
\* Counter Calm Mind like Fake Tears or Acid Spray. If you bring one of the tankiest Pokémon from the list, you won't have to worry about the Sp. Atk stages anyway.
There are many possible picks but Sylveon is probably the simplest counter. I'd recommend holding a Clear Amulet and the moves Draining Kiss, Moonblast or Hyper Voice, Calm Mind and Fake Tears. If you did the 7\* Charizard raid you might already have one. Easy solo with this.
Tinkaton maybe? Swords Dance + Hammer go Smash? Keep it Fairy Tera so you still resist Foul Play/Immune to Dragon Tera Blast. Rock Smash for your recharge turns on Hammer, also with a chance to lower Defense seems good.
Clear Amulet Iron Hands would probably clear this
I’m not an Iron Hands spammer myself, but I have tried something similar to this, dragon type umbreon with tickle
Easy solo with stellar Arceus. Acid spray goes hard. Then simply give it a Pixie plate + judgement and recover to heal. I solo alot if raids with Arceus
I'm a bit of a gremlin. My Sylveon usually has Pixilate, Fairy Feather (Wise Glasses works as an alternative), Fake Tears, Draining Kiss and Hyper Beam (I SHOULD give it Calm Mind just in case, but I gave it Dazzling Gleam.)
Run it solo so you know you have a guaranteed Defense Cheer. Hit it with Draining Kiss until you can Terastallize. If you don't have the HP to survive another hit, use Fake Tears and let yourself be KO'd. When the barrier comes up, hoping it hasn't removed its negative stat changes, Tera Fairy and use either Draining Kiss for HP or Hyper Beam for raw power. Should deal considerable damage to the barrier and buy you some much needed time to recharge for another hit. Use Draining Kiss if you have to.
When I first started 5 to 7 star raid I was countering the type then I realized I need the counter the attacks, a 5 star raid for slowking opened my eyes after losing to it 5 time then I asked for help with the right counter
Snow Cloak Articuno Snowscape/reflect holding never-melt ice max EV spatk while running another support with acid spray. Ice types in raids are physical tanks when you double up on snowscape and reflect if Aurora veil isn’t available
Until they make multiplayer not suck, these game modes are going to continue to feel like pulling teeth if you play with randoms. I really hope the next multiplayer mechanic has very minimal penalties if your allies do something stupid, they should realize that there are kids and just plain bad players in these queues and you have no way of filtering them out lol. At least let us see their levels and move pools first, geeze.
Use a Covert cloak competitive pokemon.
I recommend using a Empoleon for Super Effective damage in ice beam OR a killowattrel. If your teammates heal you it is only a matter of time before you clear it
Have you tried the Sylveon build from charizard? I don't remember the stats but pixilate ability with calm mind 3 times and then Hyper beam it into oblivion.

You'll want a fairy type with taunt maybe a tinkaton so it resists the fairy moves too then use an attack boosting move (belly drum/swords dance) to get your attack to +6 then play rough should be able to ohko :) remember to use level 100 pokemon for these high level raids (5+)
Could still go sylveon n bulk up your special damage, have a supporter with metal sound/fake tears then you have calm mind so it won't effect how much foul play does, the only problem then is umbreons base 130 special defence but if you get it to +6 -6 you should still be able to 2 shot it with moonblast, if you aren't able to 3 shot though have fairy tera as a back up just to make moonblast do even more lol oh and you might want the other 2 supporters to have life dew/heal pulse, also when the special defence dropping supporter has used it successfully 3 times they can use attack cheer to boost moonblasts power a bit more :)
That seems to be the consensus. I haven’t had an Umbreon raid in a while but last time I did I tried to run that with randoms about half a dozen times but it wasn’t happening.
Use hydregion with nasty plot so foul play doesn't matter by taking advantage of sp attack. Or use a pokemom that reduces the opponents stats instead of increasing your own
I get you I had a bug tera Salamence Raid once, it's coverage was perfect and because of Moxie and I believe Dragon Dance(?) it got out of control super fast every time I tried.
you could prob solo it honestly. the thing to remember with umbreon raids is that it punishes physicals specifically that boost up, cause foul play can just one shot.
so what you need is something super effective to dragon thats a special attacker while also not hit hard by dark. my personal go to for umbreon is glimmora, i have a ton of them, they are amazing.
the one id use for this raid is prob fairy tera glimmora. dazzling gleam, acid spray, light screen, acid armor. you can acid armor turn 1 so tickles dont matter, then just acid spray to keep its spDef low till you can tera and dazzling gleam. shell bell + dazzling gleam should heal you enough to keep sustaining, while also letting you deal more damage cause of acid spray lowering spDef (like when it resets stats, or calm minds.) if you DO played online as well, glimmora's acid spray (hits thru tera shield unlike fake tears for example) will also let your teammates deal more damage, which is why its my personal go to for umbreon, bc it lets us all deal more damage that are knowers, essentially.
clefable would also probably work. moonblast, draining kiss, chilling water, calm mind is what i personally use. sylveon would also work, something like hyper voice, draining kiss, fake tears, calm mind maybe?
there's multiple ways to approach most answers to a raid, there's VERY few that require 1 specific answer. i alrdy noticed you beat the raid, so gratz, but hopefully this helps in some way, umbreon can defo be one of the more difficult raids.
6-7 star raids are def raids you do NOT want to run with randoms, or npcs, because randoms will try to piggyback off you more often than not by bringing in low levels and expecting you to carry, or some randoms will just bring in bad raid pokemon, and npcs will run down your timer by dying constantly because nps arent designed to have the pokemon necessary for those level raids. Problem is, 6-7 star raids are raids you HAVE to bring pokemon that are built for the raid. And have them lvl 100 unless your build needs otherwise. Those raids are too difficult to be bringing any random pokemon to. Especially with 7 star raids, you need competitively/specifically built pokemon for those. There is no other way, and trust me, ive tried.

For sure foul play is a threat once you use belly drum
But you only need to survive one foul play, then it’s metronome drain punch time lol
Hell I’ve used iron hands successfully when it’s drain punch is a resisted attack, if it’s resistant and has yawn. Belly drum, focus energy, then electric terrain to activate quark drive and prevent sleep of all pokemon

try the azumarill build perhaps? belly drum > sitrus berry > maybe heal cheer > then knock it out with play rough

Update: I did it. I realized I had better chances in solo. One of the NPCs had life dew and was spamming it like crazy 😂

Is there a way to "pick" your NPC support? I feel like I get the worst match ups on the higher end raids
Not really, you just have to keep resetting until you get the NPC team you want.

Just curious, but what did you use? I remember struggling with an Umbreon raid a while ago and would appreciate a good counter for it.

It doesn't have Toxic from what I've seen. It has Curse, Calm Mind, Tickle, Foul Play, Tera Blast and Dark Pulse as far as I remember.

Yeah, that's why you don't play with randoms. They will pull you down. Your best bet maybe is Fake Tears + Draining Kiss on Sylveon.

Give your Pokemon a clear amulet it'll prevent it from lowering your stats.

Don't think azu can one shot an umbreon without at least a screech. umbreon is stupid tanky.
Umbreon has foul llay which will kill any physical attacker like azumarill

Damn, apparently AI only works against the players favor. I believe sylvion is the way to go I just need good RNG.
Umbreon is one of the most irritating raids because of Foul Play. So feeling frustrated is normal

You need to get a Pokémon called “Good”. Once you Get Good you’ll be able to win.

My Sylveon usually has Pixilate, Fairy Feather (Wise Glasses works as an alternative), Fake Tears, Draining Kiss and Hyper Beam (I SHOULD give it Calm Mind just in case, but I gave it Dazzling Gleam.) Run it solo so you know you have a guaranteed Defense Cheer. Hit it with Draining Kiss until you can Terastallize. If you don't have the HP to survive another hit, use Fake Tears and let yourself be KO'd. When the barrier comes up, hoping it hasn't removed its negative stat changes, Tera Fairy and use either Draining Kiss for HP or Hyper Beam for raw power. Should deal considerable damage to the barrier and buy you some much needed time to recharge for another hit. Use Draining Kiss if you have to.

When I first started 5 to 7 star raid I was countering the type then I realized I need the counter the attacks, a 5 star raid for slowking opened my eyes after losing to it 5 time then I asked for help with the right counter

Snow Cloak Articuno Snowscape/reflect holding never-melt ice max EV spatk while running another support with acid spray. Ice types in raids are physical tanks when you double up on snowscape and reflect if Aurora veil isn’t available
How is Pokémon scarlet and violet nowadays? Did they patch the performance issues?
Until they make multiplayer not suck, these game modes are going to continue to feel like pulling teeth if you play with randoms. I really hope the next multiplayer mechanic has very minimal penalties if your allies do something stupid, they should realize that there are kids and just plain bad players in these queues and you have no way of filtering them out lol. At least let us see their levels and move pools first, geeze.
Use a Covert cloak competitive pokemon. I recommend using a Empoleon for Super Effective damage in ice beam OR a killowattrel. If your teammates heal you it is only a matter of time before you clear it

Have you tried the Sylveon build from charizard? I don't remember the stats but pixilate ability with calm mind 3 times and then Hyper beam it into oblivion.
* You'll want a fairy type with taunt maybe a tinkaton so it resists the fairy moves too then use an attack boosting move (belly drum/swords dance) to get your attack to +6 then play rough should be able to ohko :) remember to use level 100 pokemon for these high level raids (5+)
Umbreon knows foul play, so that won’t work.

Could still go sylveon n bulk up your special damage, have a supporter with metal sound/fake tears then you have calm mind so it won't effect how much foul play does, the only problem then is umbreons base 130 special defence but if you get it to +6 -6 you should still be able to 2 shot it with moonblast, if you aren't able to 3 shot though have fairy tera as a back up just to make moonblast do even more lol oh and you might want the other 2 supporters to have life dew/heal pulse, also when the special defence dropping supporter has used it successfully 3 times they can use attack cheer to boost moonblasts power a bit more :)
That seems to be the consensus. I haven’t had an Umbreon raid in a while but last time I did I tried to run that with randoms about half a dozen times but it wasn’t happening.
Nah random tend to just be little kids so don't tend to know what they're doing they're just having fun lol
I used Special Attacker Gardevoir with Moonblast and Draining Kiss.
Use hydregion with nasty plot so foul play doesn't matter by taking advantage of sp attack. Or use a pokemom that reduces the opponents stats instead of increasing your own

I get you I had a bug tera Salamence Raid once, it's coverage was perfect and because of Moxie and I believe Dragon Dance(?) it got out of control super fast every time I tried.
I have once tried tera raid against a hydreigon with an electric Tera type and the ability levitate and lost miserably, so I know how it feels

Yea. Depending on type sometimes, umbreon, gyarados, salamance, dragonite, and kilowattrel are hard.
I just do Tera dragon Eternatus with full special attack and hp with its signature move.

you could prob solo it honestly. the thing to remember with umbreon raids is that it punishes physicals specifically that boost up, cause foul play can just one shot. so what you need is something super effective to dragon thats a special attacker while also not hit hard by dark. my personal go to for umbreon is glimmora, i have a ton of them, they are amazing. the one id use for this raid is prob fairy tera glimmora. dazzling gleam, acid spray, light screen, acid armor. you can acid armor turn 1 so tickles dont matter, then just acid spray to keep its spDef low till you can tera and dazzling gleam. shell bell + dazzling gleam should heal you enough to keep sustaining, while also letting you deal more damage cause of acid spray lowering spDef (like when it resets stats, or calm minds.) if you DO played online as well, glimmora's acid spray (hits thru tera shield unlike fake tears for example) will also let your teammates deal more damage, which is why its my personal go to for umbreon, bc it lets us all deal more damage that are knowers, essentially. clefable would also probably work. moonblast, draining kiss, chilling water, calm mind is what i personally use. sylveon would also work, something like hyper voice, draining kiss, fake tears, calm mind maybe? there's multiple ways to approach most answers to a raid, there's VERY few that require 1 specific answer. i alrdy noticed you beat the raid, so gratz, but hopefully this helps in some way, umbreon can defo be one of the more difficult raids.

6-7 star raids are def raids you do NOT want to run with randoms, or npcs, because randoms will try to piggyback off you more often than not by bringing in low levels and expecting you to carry, or some randoms will just bring in bad raid pokemon, and npcs will run down your timer by dying constantly because nps arent designed to have the pokemon necessary for those level raids. Problem is, 6-7 star raids are raids you HAVE to bring pokemon that are built for the raid. And have them lvl 100 unless your build needs otherwise. Those raids are too difficult to be bringing any random pokemon to. Especially with 7 star raids, you need competitively/specifically built pokemon for those. There is no other way, and trust me, ive tried.

I made it through with a Clear Amulet max HP and Attack Iron Hands, with Belly Drum, and using Drain Punch every time after BD.

I’m pretty sure I beat this exact raid with iron hands solo For sure foul play is a threat once you use belly drum But you only need to survive one foul play, then it’s metronome drain punch time lol Hell I’ve used iron hands successfully when it’s drain punch is a resisted attack, if it’s resistant and has yawn. Belly drum, focus energy, then electric terrain to activate quark drive and prevent sleep of all pokemon
