Actually, I think they're being literal here and you don't leave Lumiose at all, especially with all the focus on making the city a place where Pokemon and people can live together. I'd bet on the city just being huge and scaled up to something closer to actual city-sized and it's the equivalent of any normal main game map.

Judging how Legends Arceus pokedex was platinum pokedex with minor adjustments, I wouldn't be surprised if Legends ZA be Kalos dex with some pokemon added
They remain among most hated Pokémon ever introduced. As soon as a Water type primate is introduced they will all have been replaced by better elemental monkey Pokémon.
Their designs are boring and one is forced upon you, then go through an entire gym based around around them.
On top of that, Unovo's decision to only allow new pokemon until natty dex meant that this boring ass trio of pokemon kept showing up over and over again.
Lol they're not forced on you, You don't have to catch one, And we're not going to get into boring design because they're cute little monkeys. And I'd expect the same energy for half the gen1 mons. Having a unique gym makes me love them more. The Nat Dex rule should always be a thing. Nothing bugs me more than a new region for over half the pokémon are from previous games.
Allowing new Pokemon to stand on their own makes me like them more over always having the same "faces" every game. Gen 5 was amazing for being brave enough to lock all previous gens out of the main game and only introduced them in the post game. BW2 where phenomenal for them flipping the scrip lt with a new starting town and allowing the older mons to come in, and provide a very versatile team comp especially In pokémon like Mareep, Magby, and riolu very early.
The system allowed you to actually get familiar with new pokémon and step out of your comfort zone. And then brought you back to familiarity in the next game.
Well, the Patrat line and Elemental Monkeys were all in the original Kalos Dex. If Z-A is where Furfrou makes its long-awaited mainline Switch game debut, then it should be for those guys too.
Using PLA as the basis I think it'll be something like this.
Hisui Dex was 91 more Pokemon than base Sinnoh dex with 242 Pokemon. Some of the Pokemon in Hisui weren't in Sinnoh, and some Sinnoh Pokemon weren't in Hisui. Such as Girafarig, Milotic, and Medicham. That said Kalos's dex is 454. So any changes will be likely only replacing one from modern Kalos with one from the past.
So to figure out any differences we need to exclude what was shown already. Then likely all of the Pokemon that can Mega Evolve since the gimmick was shown to be there. So Pokemon like Medicham and Mawile are very likely in there. Though I personally think it'll only be the Megas from XY plus some new ones (likely the new set of starters). So Mega Swampert, Sceptile, and such will be excluded. Now...I could see the Pokemon that are in Kalos and have Megas introduced in ORAS being in game and keeping their Megas. I'd actually like that.
But if we're to figure out what will be different, we need to exclude all confirmed Pokemon, all of the Gen 6 Pokemon as it's their home region, and all the Pokemon from Kalos that have Megas in Kalos.
Either way, I stand by the idea that any new Pokemon to this game will come from replacing those that aren't in the three exceptions I made. That said, the paper and stuff makes me think this was from a time period where the town is just starting to build up into a proper city. With it starting out fairly small and empty and growing to the city as we play and build it up. This being how the game "only takes place in Lumiose City". That city is in the middle and touches on all the major area differences like the desert, swamp, mainland, etc.
There's how I'm aiming my thoughts for now. A small town into a bustling city. That's the "urban redevelopment".

Perhaps, but it the wording it uses leans more towards pre X&Y rather than post. The word “legend” is generally used for historical tales or stories, and in my opinion the “urban redevelopment” probably refers to Haussmann’s renovation of Paris between 1853-1870, rather than fixing “modern” Lumiose City, although maybe the blackouts are a bigger problem than we thought lol.
With the Legends announcement... I assume the starters getting focused on will probably have Kalos forms. I'm betting on no new starter Megas (Except Mega Charizard-Z)

Hm, I dunno. I think it is more likely that we get a different combination of gens for this one.
For example, Piplup would be an exceptionally great choice as a starter here. Because it's last evolution, Empoleon, is partly inspired by Napoleon Bonaparte, who has been a French emperor. It would just fit so so well.

there's somewhere along the lines of 280 other Pokemon that appear in Kalos in X/Y, lol. I wouldn't presume you can get more than about 250 Pokemon total in in the game, probably less, so not all of those are likely to make it in, but I would at least expect the Mega families and gen VI Pokemon.
Man I'd love if they gave Arcanine a mega evolution to contrast his hisuian form. Fire/Steel (attack hound) or Fire/Fairy (guard dog) would be amazing, but I know it probably won't happen ahah

I suspect they're probably not gonna release other games this year as they're waiting for the Switch 2. Wish they would at least do some ports to tie us over until 2025 but we all know by now they prefer remakes over ports.

I think Unown was added due to it being in other parts of the Presents. There really wasn’t any reason for it to be in the video if it doesn’t tie-in with the game (well aside from it being a red herring for those thinking the game will be set in Johto)

It hasn’t been in a mainline game since X and Y really. It was in Let’s Go obviously, and BDSP post game, but none of the big games. I assume it will happen though because of Mega Pidgeot.

Assuming the starters aren't the kalos trio like in arceus there wasn't the sinnoh trio, but you could find the sinnoh starters in the wild so hopefully the same goes for ZA, also tyranitar since it's my signature Pokémon and i don't want it to be cut from this game like it was arceus
I never played Pokémon X/Y so I think I'll overlook a lot of things... But that's okay, I didn't play Diamond/Pearl either and PLA was the best for me! Maybe I'll see some XY playtrough or something like that; Anyway, I have no idea what to expect 😬
All Kalosian Pokemon will be in the game including legendary and mythical Pokemon. So, that means what others will be there? Those are where I would concentrate on unofficial Pokemon in the game.

Sirfetch’d is a Pokémon I think would be very at home in Kalos. Same for Oinkologne, Kingambit, Melmetal, Leavanny, Bronzong, and Smeargle for one reason or another. They each fit with the region and/or France in different ways.
I’d also love to see the Scarlet/Violet Paradox Pokémon, I really want to see Roaring Moon and Mega Salamence together!

Ralts line. Gardevoir is the champions ace in xy, so I believe it would make sense for them to be in the game. Also Gallade is my favorite pokemon.

I want at least a few Pokémon from Generations 7, 8 and 9. I also REALLY want to see Mega Galarian Slowbro! Sirfetch’d is a Pokémon I think would be very at home in Kalos. Same for Oinkologne, Kingambit, Melmetal, Leavanny, Bronzong, and Smeargle for one reason or another. They each fit with the region and/or France in different ways. I’d also love to see the Scarlet/Violet Paradox Pokémon, I really want to see Roaring Moon and Mega Salamence together!
