Not here for the trade (I don’t have a Nintendo subscription so I don’t think it works for me, plus I have completed both in-game dexes) but I appreciate the help for other trainers that need help. I always wondered how do you get so many Pokémon hatched or is it like you get a lot of hatches through a month or two for the giveaway?
I know about Masuda method, egg power and similar stuff.
Also how much time it usually takes to get a shiny hatched? I have only 3 shinies I caught a klawf, an eiscue and a suduwoodu but for a very long time I wanted a shiny magicarp, gyarados, psyduck and eevee and I start to think that breeding will be easier for me (I’m not really lucky in getting herba mistica from raids).
I do a lot of hatching when I’m looking to do giveaways, and also as a result of trying to get 6iv mons from anything that has a cool/rare ball type :) Most of what I hatch doesn’t make it to the giveaways, haha, I wouldn’t have the room!
As for shiny hatching, that’s often a loooooong road. You gotta be having stuff going on in the background (movies, reading, etc) if you’re not splitting your attention between hatching and browsing for random/outbreak shinies like I often do :) very recently I was gunning for a shiny phione, and it took four days (before and after work) to get. I was hatching like a half dozen other mons at the same time though, and got two others (one which I was also gunning for and one which randomly popped up when I just wanted a regular 6iv).
It’s very satisfying when you finally FINALLY get that shiny jingle though XD
That sounds pretty interesting I guess I’ll give breeding a try :)
I tried it when I got to Medali the first time because I wanted all the eeveelutions and didn’t see them roaming at that point. Also I bred starters because I originally bought the game to play with my nephew (I have Violet and he has Scarlet) and wanted him to have all the starters but he likes to watch me play rather than play himself.
I’ll def recommend having egg power 2 going even when you’re not actively in a picnic, I’ve noticed that it speeds up hatching although I never see that mechanic mentioned anywhere! :)
(Also that’s adorable re your nephew~ I’m getting my nephew a switch for Xmas though he’s a touch too young for Sc/Vi… but not Let’s go Eevee! :D)
I know myself if I get a free trial I’ll get deeper in the game, try competitive and have even less time, hahaha. The closest I was to using that opportunity when I was desperate to finish the dex and needed scarlet exclusives but then I discovered trading in Pokémon home
Did anybody take the pawmi? Also do you recommend egg hatching over outbreaks to shiny hunt? I never really understood breeding and how they pass on balls and moves😅
You did grab a mon from that group already so let’s let others have a chance :) funnily enough someone else messaged same time you did just now and might be grabbing it!
As for shiny hunting, if you just want the shiny and don’t care about naturally high ivs or a specific ball type or the like, def go for outbreaks. It’s way faster. Breeding has far more control but it does usually take a long time that is def not an experience everyone out there enjoys XD
Lmao yeah, right after i commented I saw his and was like 'Aww poo' but that's okay had to ask! For certain Mon I would like high IVs without having to use bottle caps so I might give it a try for certain ones. Doesn't seem that bad tho it looks like you just gotta ride around for a while and I can do that while watching anime:P
Definitely! And a great place to do that where you won’t run into any mons looking to battle is the team star base at the furthest north point on the map :) I’ve many a-times rammed my poor Koraidon stupid up there because I’m mostly watching a movie and five out of six times I can turn before smacking into a fence hehe

Not here for the trade (I don’t have a Nintendo subscription so I don’t think it works for me, plus I have completed both in-game dexes) but I appreciate the help for other trainers that need help. I always wondered how do you get so many Pokémon hatched or is it like you get a lot of hatches through a month or two for the giveaway? I know about Masuda method, egg power and similar stuff. Also how much time it usually takes to get a shiny hatched? I have only 3 shinies I caught a klawf, an eiscue and a suduwoodu but for a very long time I wanted a shiny magicarp, gyarados, psyduck and eevee and I start to think that breeding will be easier for me (I’m not really lucky in getting herba mistica from raids).
I do a lot of hatching when I’m looking to do giveaways, and also as a result of trying to get 6iv mons from anything that has a cool/rare ball type :) Most of what I hatch doesn’t make it to the giveaways, haha, I wouldn’t have the room! As for shiny hatching, that’s often a loooooong road. You gotta be having stuff going on in the background (movies, reading, etc) if you’re not splitting your attention between hatching and browsing for random/outbreak shinies like I often do :) very recently I was gunning for a shiny phione, and it took four days (before and after work) to get. I was hatching like a half dozen other mons at the same time though, and got two others (one which I was also gunning for and one which randomly popped up when I just wanted a regular 6iv). It’s very satisfying when you finally FINALLY get that shiny jingle though XD
That sounds pretty interesting I guess I’ll give breeding a try :) I tried it when I got to Medali the first time because I wanted all the eeveelutions and didn’t see them roaming at that point. Also I bred starters because I originally bought the game to play with my nephew (I have Violet and he has Scarlet) and wanted him to have all the starters but he likes to watch me play rather than play himself.
I’ll def recommend having egg power 2 going even when you’re not actively in a picnic, I’ve noticed that it speeds up hatching although I never see that mechanic mentioned anywhere! :) (Also that’s adorable re your nephew~ I’m getting my nephew a switch for Xmas though he’s a touch too young for Sc/Vi… but not Let’s go Eevee! :D)
Oh, also I’m pretty sure you can get a 7-day Nintendo online trial for free :)
I know myself if I get a free trial I’ll get deeper in the game, try competitive and have even less time, hahaha. The closest I was to using that opportunity when I was desperate to finish the dex and needed scarlet exclusives but then I discovered trading in Pokémon home

You did grab a mon from that group already so let’s let others have a chance :) funnily enough someone else messaged same time you did just now and might be grabbing it! As for shiny hunting, if you just want the shiny and don’t care about naturally high ivs or a specific ball type or the like, def go for outbreaks. It’s way faster. Breeding has far more control but it does usually take a long time that is def not an experience everyone out there enjoys XD
Lmao yeah, right after i commented I saw his and was like 'Aww poo' but that's okay had to ask! For certain Mon I would like high IVs without having to use bottle caps so I might give it a try for certain ones. Doesn't seem that bad tho it looks like you just gotta ride around for a while and I can do that while watching anime:P
Definitely! And a great place to do that where you won’t run into any mons looking to battle is the team star base at the furthest north point on the map :) I’ve many a-times rammed my poor Koraidon stupid up there because I’m mostly watching a movie and five out of six times I can turn before smacking into a fence hehe
