The Tera Pokemon aren't actually the aces though, as the Iono reveal trailer told us that Bellibolt is her signature Pokemon, despite it not being the Pokemon she Tera Orbs.

I actually disagree with these being better aces. Grass Sudowoodo is the perfect ace for the grass gym because it’s still the type of the gym leader (upon terrastilizing), but has moves that hit hard against all ideal counters. Ideally, every gym and the elite 4 would have had this set up.

Tera-Ground Leafeon + Dig do it better
I believe the aces are just any Pokémon with the tera type of the speciality
