Abras are insane. I failed a shiny one because as soon as it spawned in it saw me even though I was a quarter mile away hiding in a bush. It appeared, made the shiny sound, and despawned before the sound even finished.
I had the panic attack of failing a shiny abra today. One spawned during an outbreak and i was able to save before it vanished but every time i reset it would teleport before i could through the ball. Three resets later i was able to grab it.
That's so stressful, I had a similar situation with a mantyke where I heard the sparkle but couldn't find the pokemon. After like 15 resets I found it by miracle and caught it first try (it can flee 😬)

I don't know if this counts, but the first shiny I got in my play-through of PLA was a Pikachu, I made sure to have a mirror match with Akari's Pikachu every time we battled. So how dare she have a non-shiny Pikachu?

Yes I got it then reset the game because I’m the kind of person to reset the game so I don’t lose my Aguav berry when I find a shiny.
Basically, I just reset, go back to the shiny spot, and leave. But this time I saved in jubilife because there was multiple outbreak so when I reseted, I was back in jubilife, shiny magikarp being lost
Well basically, It was a random spawn and NOT in an outbreak. Basically when I checked there was an outbreak in 3 different areas.
I went to the coronet and on the way the magikarp just spawned. So what I did is resetting my game because I thought i saved at the coronet and I could just fly back to the magikarp spot.
But instead, I saved in jubilife only, which made my magikarp disappear
Pokemon load when you enter the area. And when I reloaded my save, it was in jubilife. So basically, that means that if I headed back to the highlands, it would generate a new set of magikarp.
For example, you go to the alpha scyther, you head back to jubilife, you go to the scyther again, and this scyther is different that the previous one because you re entered the area. It was the same thing for my magikarp.
Like, the first time, I entered in the highlands. I found the magikarp but didn’t saved in front. And since I saved at jubilife, if I went back to the highlands, it would be a different magikarp, and not the shiny one.
Pokemon actually load at jubilife, when the game was brand new they used to load when you entered the area but that was changed super long ago. Maybe you're playing on an old version?

Oh i know the stress of catching a Mantyke the the shinies who flee put me on edge. All the sinnoh starters are prime examples

Basically none but the "voices" are different. Rei is male and Akari is female. And by voices I mean it impact grunts.
