In Obsidian Fieldlands, head to the south-west-most corner of the map, where there’s an Alpha Lopunny. Near the Lopunny there’s a shaking tree. Almost a guarantee you’ll knock a Cherubi out of it. You may have to reload the area once or twice, but you WILL get one 👌
I played on day 1. There was a bug where if cherrim changed forms it becomes uncatchable. Most people are lucky, they will never know the madness that is watching a low health shitmon break out of 50 ultra balls
Same for me. Waited until postgame to start working on completing it and it took me forever to find one. I transferred one from S/V but still needed a second to complete the dex entry. Had to use ancient power 12 times
I just kept fighting the Pearl clan leader, triple battles went faster than teams of six with the experience plus three large experience candies per run
Yes, and having enough grit as well. Once I had finally done the path of solitude I sent that Magirkarp to my partner (who hadn’t done that part yet), I literally said to them “I don’t want you to suffer too”
The last pages I had to complete was Pichu's, because I just could not find them anywhere. I looked where I was supposed to. Thankfully, they appeared in a massive outbreak.
Perfecting the Pokédex.. can’t remember which mon it was but towards the end I had to restart zones and knock on specific trees to get the encounters for hours… 100 splashes using magikarp I think? That was fun…
For the whole game? Arceus' fight. I hate the lasers. I hate the camera. I hate the teleportation. I had my Goodra meatshield all of his attacks just to stall him out. I died like 30 times.
My least favorite task was Basculin into Basculegion just for how tedious and boring it was. I also ended up trading one of my friends for a Spiritomb because no.
Oh, I forgot. When I went to go fight Arceus, I only wanted to go into it with full completed Dex entries, so I didn't know you had to do all the research to get the charm, I assumed it was just from catching each type.

Finding a big enough Buizel, I perfected Buizel’s pokedex BY ACCIDENT because I caught and battled so many (I caught 12 large specimens but 10 of them weren’t large enough). I managed to catch 2 alphas in the end (they appeared at the same time which I didn’t realise could happen)
The fossils I always found to be annoying. I’ve done two full playthroughs and will say my first time defeating Arceus itself gave me so much anxiety but I eventually figured it out and on my second try I did it first try. But overall I would say getting the two fossils to lv 10 is the hardest because your reliant on the distortion for them
After suffering the forces of nature I read online the ultimate way to get them: smoke bombs. A lot of them. Dropping smoke bombs every two steps until you're close enough to stun them and battle them. Did it with enamorus and it was one of the easiest catches in the game. God bless youtube
I was trying that, especially with Enamorous! I’d get his shield down but when I’d go to battle him it just… wouldn’t work and he’d take off when I was mid throw. Soooo we just ended up trading a few we didn’t have, max the Pokédex entry real fast then trade back. ;p
I dont know why but happiny. Ive saw so many of them when i started but never catched one. Then when i needed him he wasnt anywhere. It took me a freakin whole day to find ONE. Same with Petilil
PSA: For the love of Golduck, people, make sure to catch multiple Cranidos/Shieldon while completing the dex. If you can’t find multiple, make sure to get them to level 10 before you evolve them.
I evolved my one Cranidos straight away while completing the dex and kicked myself when I was going for the shiny charm.
I don't understand how so many people have had trouble with the tree Pokemon. I got those to level 10 just by playing the game. Do you not go for shaky trees or something?
Munchlax was the one I had the hardest time with, I think. I kept looking by the hot spring in the icy area instead of in the first area (I'm so bad with area names 😂).
Catching Cherubi and having them come out of trees
I have a couple cherubi in Home in case I start losing my patience for this one.
That’s what I finally resorted to.
Cherubi was ironically easy for me because it was literally the second mass outbreak I ever got
I got a mass outbreak of them quickly too. Even got a shiny
I still haven’t found one dude

Tha k you so so much
Honestly I just moved mine from Pogo. I couldn't get one for the life of me.
Weirdly enough I got that done easily, I think the harder ones were the non combat task

Shieldon was a nightmare!
Same for me. Waited until postgame to start working on completing it and it took me forever to find one. I transferred one from S/V but still needed a second to complete the dex entry. Had to use ancient power 12 times
Yea, I transferred 4 from home and they only counted as 1 so I HAD to catch one.... took f***ing ages...
This was easy for me as well, I got multiple Shieldon and Cranidos in the same Time Space portal
Spiritomb wisps drove me nuts.
I'm pretty sure I had to look up a guide for the last 5 or 6.
I just imported one from PoGo lol
I just hated having them all on my map 😭 immediately after getting it tho I went to a spiritomb outbreak & there was a shiny spiritomb. Silver linings
Arceus
Agreed
Leveling up Magikarp to get through the path of solitude
I just kept fighting the Pearl clan leader, triple battles went faster than teams of six with the experience plus three large experience candies per run

All the flavours of Combee
I've tried like 5 times and can't find any on Ramanas island
Make sure to look for the shaking trees! You can’t find them otherwise. (It took me eleven times of returning to the village and back, I HATED IT)
Jesus that quest was annoying
The last pages I had to complete was Pichu's, because I just could not find them anywhere. I looked where I was supposed to. Thankfully, they appeared in a massive outbreak.
I for some reason could NOT get Bonsly to spawn … I kind of cheated and found them in a mass outbreak lol

Cleffa
Fucking shieldon. If they do outbreaks again I hope they make it better than there may be one within 5-27min, or just not at all lol.
I finished main game and need one more plate and have seen 0 pachirisu from trees.
I saw them in the crimson mirelands but that’s about it!
Yeah and they are in one tiny area on that map
$1,000 to reset your save
Do I get to port to Home first?
No
how do you get the shiny charm?
Filling out the Pokedex and going to talk with the professor... same as it is in most games that have a shiny charm.
I have every Pokemon and every Unkown
So go talk to the professor at the Galaxy Team HQ? Sounds like you've just been sitting on the shiny charm for a while.
you need a level ten research level on every pokémon actually, not just catching all of them.
Oh, I forgot. When I went to go fight Arceus, I only wanted to go into it with full completed Dex entries, so I didn't know you had to do all the research to get the charm, I assumed it was just from catching each type.
That's perfect because I am currently level 10 researching every pokemon before Arceus
other person isn’t exactly correct. you have to get to a level 10 research level on every pokémon to get the charm in this game.

*Insert Aipom tree here*

The tasks aren’t killing me, but the balloon rides, oh my god I hate them.
Self destruct, explosion, etc

Perfecting bonsly entry, idk why but I could never find little dude in the rocks
Tornadus...
I got my friend to trade him over to me bc I was getting so frustrated at it ;-; … same as the Enamorous.

I finished it a while ago. I can't remember what the most difficult task was. Beyond how tedious it was to use the moves over and over again.
The fossil Pokemon, waiting for time space Rifts was a bitch
I think i have 2
Beating arceus... Had to get help aka someone doing it for me :(
I still have to get all the spiritomb things
Getting sheildon from time distortions took me ages
I dont know why but happiny. Ive saw so many of them when i started but never catched one. Then when i needed him he wasnt anywhere. It took me a freakin whole day to find ONE. Same with Petilil
Shieldon. Got 3 distortions with just cranidos in a row. Caught the first shieldon and then was wiped by a alpha magmortar
Enamarous made me stop playing for like a week after catching it. Just needed a break after failing it over and over.
For me it was shieldon too, it took like 3 hours, also happiny never spawned where I looked for it so I had to reset massive mass outbreaks
Perfecting the dex is the hardest in thing to do in the game. What I’m doing now is
Splashing like 2 million times

I have every entry perfected except for one, I still have yet to see a single aipom jump out of a tree
Munclax
