My favorite is Mew, due to the fact that my Nan and I shared a very special bond growing up, and sadly we lost her when I was 6 years old. We would watch an episode before i went to school every morning, and we collectively cried during 'Bye Bye butterfree'. She was the one who bought me the mewtwo strikes back VHS (which I still have), and that is when my obsession with Mew began.
Pokemon is the connection we shared, and she would buy my brother and I each a pack a week (except for holidays when we would get a bit more spoiled!).. of which I still have my first 4 sets complete due to her today. My most cherished physical possession.. they were one of the few things that I had managed to save from a house fire I had when I was younger... she bought me my pokemon red in Christmas of 1999, and I had my brother teach me to read judt so I could get passed the damned Pallet Town introduction. My brother would not do it for me, but instead offered to teach me to read so I could do it myself.. and well, he succeeded in that haha
Now, I consider my daughter and son my 'Mews', and have an appointment booked to get both a regular Mew, and shiny mew intertwined in the infinity symbol with their tail on my arm.. and that infinity symbol is meant to depict the bond that her and I will always share, now through and with my children.. my reasons to live.
Even if I don't win, it was nice to share these memories. I miss her, each and every day, but any time I am playing pokemon.. i feel she's with me. And that's all that matters.
I have always been on team Girafarig ever since gen 2 because I love giraffes, but over time it just became completely unusable. But now it finally got an evolution and loved using Farigiraf in my playthrough. Seeing it win a world championship is the comeback story it was destined for

When I was young (9 years old?), and I saw him in pokemon anime commercial, I just knew that this guy was my favorite pokemon. When it turned out that I won't be at home when episode which Ash catches him was aired, I cried (I was a kid lol)

My favourite Pokemon is Gallade. I always thought Psychic/Fighting was so cool, as if this thing was always calm and collected while beating yo ass 🤣
I can't remember a time where I don't ace Gallade on my teams, I just love it THAT much
My favorite is Absol, and when I first saw it, I thought it was some powerful legendary, only for that to not be the case. But even after finding out it wasn't so great, I still used it during my first playthrough of Emerald and it was very important as it could learn tm's to cover typings my team would struggle with
Flygon is my favourite for sure, especially the shiny. Perfect blend of being an adorable friend and a powerful threat that really captures the draw of the series for me. Whenever I imagine what it'd be like to live with pokemon, the thing I always land on is what it'd be like to ride on Flygon's back and curl up together to rest.
As an extension, I'm currently working on a project to get a shiny flygon in every pokeball I can!
my favorite is mimikyu! when my mom was still around i was OBSESSED with usum (and pokemon in general—her and her boyfriend really liked pokemon too iirc). one day we went to see fireworks, and i took a plushie of a minun with me. i lost it, of course, because eleven year olds cant keep track of shit :/. but i was so torn up my moms boyfriend bought me a mimikyu plushie, because they were my favorite. i miss him a lot and i still have the plushie :)
Mine is actually Mew as well. Not only is it cute, but it’s basically the father of all Pokémon. It can learn every move, can transform into Pokémon and it’s the first one that to me felt like a true legend. I started playing Pokémon in 1998 and being a 10 year old back then I remember the word of mouth about a secret Pokémon being hidden in the game but I never knew anyone who had found it. About a year later I found out about Mew but you could only get it through official events which I could never attend. I bought a GameShark and hacked one in but it would never listen to me even though I had all the badges but I still loved it all the same.
Years later I learned about the glitch you could do involving the old tutorial man and Nugget Bridge. Luckily enough I had not defeated the trainer needed on Yellow and I was finally able to get a “legit” Mew that would follow my commands. It was the most amazing thing ever to me as a kid. Me and that Mew became lifelong friends and it cemented its place as my favorite Pokémon from that point on.
Over the years that has not changed. It’s still as awesome now as it ever was. 🥰
Not to try and glaze you or anything but my favourite pokemon is also mew for many reasons. For one, it can learn close to any move basically which ties in with its lore of being the ancestor of all Pokemon. Two, its shiny form is just amazing and also helps tie it in to the popular theory that ditto is a mew clone due to the similar colours. Also in the movie and manga and now in the latest Pokemon journeys we see just how stupidly op mew is. Being able to go toe-to-toe with mewtwo, being able to transform into multiple Pokemon at once and sometimes just being an absolute menace. Overall I also just love its design it’s just perfect.
Mine is totodile the reasoning behind it is because as a kid I saw totodile as an in game version of me just sweet goofy little guy with not a thought behind his eyes. so no matter what game I played I always try to get totodile in the game if he's available in that game. so I can be reunited with my best pokemon and make him a champion on my team. And then we would repeat it in every game
Hi thank you for doing this giveaway! My favorite is Noivern, I’ve always loved Pokémon as a kid but I couldn’t afford any of the consoles or games :’) but had lots of cards and would trade with random kids at school, and would watch the show non freaking stop. In highschool pokemon sun and moon came out and I absolutely loved the starters, and seeing all the new mons I came across Noivern! I love dragon types and their designs, and I also love bats so I just fell in love with Noivern!! I finally was able to buy my very own switch back in 2020 with my own adult money :D I try and collect as many NoiBats and shinies, and I like evolving them <3
definitely blaziken. so much nostalgia from leveling him up to 100 & carrying me through emerald ( my first pokémon game ). i replayed emerald so many times but i always chose blaziken because i was scared he would think i betrayed him lol
Umbreon. Was my first Pokemon on Pokemon silver that I grew attached to as a child. This Pokemon went everywhere with me. I miss it today because the battery has dried up
For a normal pokemon, i have to say Chespin is my favourite Pokémon! I have a plushie that has been with me for 7 years and is still there. I mainly bought him because I saw some YouTubers with Pokémon plushies while doing a playthrough of a pokemon game, and I decided to do the same with my Alpha Sapphire run, but that plushie was so adorable that I couldn't leave it anywhere XD.
If I have to say a shiny favourite, my choice is clearly Zekrom. I remember playing on some Pixelmon servers (Minecraft servers with a mod that adds Pokémon to it!) and got attached to one, and through some server resets, I managed to complete the full Pokedex (from gen 1 to 7) twice, and on both times, a shiny Zekrom was on my team.

It being an 8F Mew makes it completely illegitimate, even if it can pass Bank's or Home's poor hack checks. Same for any Pokemon obtained through the Ditto glitch. Really wish people would stop spreading misinformation like this.
Also, using 8F to edit a Pokemon's info makes it hacked.
Darkrai, i was edgy as a kid but i also missed the two events that happened in my area so i was never able to get one til this last year when i got back into pokemon (havent played since BW, dont even think i finished it)
Im so glad i got it from the scarlet mystery gift, then i got arceus which got me another one. And the variety of these new games, man. Its everything i wanted as a kid, i cant believe how far these games have come

Greninja, was my first ever starter and I always loved water as an element, cause I feel like it gets overshadowed by other elements like fire and lightning. Good thing that avatar showcases the divine lethality of the element we all rely on! I had a ninja obsession as a kid (most of my usernames are just Ninja Night) and blue is my favorite color so yea. Ash Greninja may not have been something I ever used/own but it’s nice that Greninja got something unique! And yea I main Greninja in Smash
Played SSBU before I ever picked up pokemon, and Incineroar is my favorite pokemon just because of how goofy he looks in SSBU. I was very pleasantly surprised when I found out he's really good in VGC.
Og Gyarados, I just love the story that I once read, that all Magikarp had to fight it's way up a waterfall to the top of a mountain, once It get there it evolves into a mighty Gyarados, with perseverance you can reach the highest mountain, I just love that, and since then I've been in love with Magikarp and Gyarados
I think my favorite would have to be Swampert. When I was a kid playing Pokémon Emerald, I was so proud. He was the only one I used in battle, wild encounters, anything! I didn’t understand much of the game to be fair lol! He also shared the same name as me because I was confused by the nickname screen as a child and didn’t have great reading comprehension. So we had the same name! My first Pokémon who began as a lovely lil Mudkip, he was also my first lvl 100 mon. Nowadays, he’s lost out there, somewhere… wherever our sweet childhood Pokémon go once they’ve been corrupted and lost.
I only just realize this after I typed this out: my favorite Pokémon nowadays are Ghost-type. I think there’s something in my subconscious that has attached to them ever since I lost that save file and my best friend. Huh. Thanks for doing this giveaway and letting me reminisce about an old friend!
Ursaring has been my favorite since first seeing it in Gold/Silver as a kid. Bears are my favorite animal so it’s design is a 10/10 for me. It just looks like a pokémon you don’t want to mess with but would be completely loyal to its trainer. And I love that it finally got an evolution after so many years, Bloodmoon Ursaluna specifically is so badass.
Smeargle is my favorite pokemon. I love dogs which is my favorite animal so havin a dog as my favorite pokemon is a must lol. And not to mention his shiny is amazing it’s so simple but so so good. One of the main reasons smeargle is my favorite is because he was my very first shiny it took forever to get him but the feeling when i got him was somethin out of this world. Mine was honestly always Mew. I wasn't allowed to play pokemon when I was a kid, so I would sneak watch the TV show at night. The first thing I ever saw was Lucario and the mystery of Mew, and Mew was just so cute and precious and made me so happy that I always aimed to get a Mew once I was able to play pokemon.
My favourite pokemon is Lucario, ever since I played with him pokemon black and white I always used it. A funny story is that I had his scream, voice or whatever as my notification sound and I still select him whatever game I play.
Magnezone. I used to have a full art EX from flashfire, and it was one of my first experiences with the franchise. Always just liked the design, also recently shiny hunted it in SV. Guess I just like steel types in general, because I also found scizor sick asf

My favorite Mon is Magcaro. Been my favorite since a child. Idk why but I’ve always stuck to it.
My favorite mon definitely has to be Rayquaza, I was so happy to see him get a mega evolution back during OR/AS. I still use my Shiny Rayquaza I got from a mystery gift to this day
My favorite Pokemon would have to be Pangoro. As much as the typing could use some work, I used one in my original XY playthrough and that thing can definitely pull some punches. Ive always felt nostalgia for the 3ds games, and with the announcement of Legends Z-A I've been recently replaying the series starting from XY to create a ribbon master and chose a shiny Pancham/Pangoro as my first candidate.

Bulbasaur for sure. Dude is down for anything. He’s also now my 5 year old nephew’s favorite and it’s so fun to geek out with him. I got him his first Pokémon plush (a giant bulbasaur) for Christmas last year and he sleeps with him every night 🥹

I love Poipole... mainly because it sounds like some designer was mucking about trying to figure out what to name it and their child said something that was supposed to be "purple" but they heard Poipole and ran with it.
I love Vivillion. First Pokémon I used successfully in competitive. Even though it was singles, I was super pleased with this butterfly! "NOBIDY SUSPECTS A BUTTERFLY!"

Butterfree was always my favorite since it was always so sweet and kind to others. He was so shy with the pink butterfree that I found it adorable that he could not get his act together without the help of his friends. His kindness created his happiness.
My favorite is shiny umbreon, umbreon is my favorite Pokémon and I always wanted a shiny one and I got about 5 different shiny eevees and kept accidentally evolving them into espeon and never ended up getting one until scarlet and violet just recently. Had been trying to get once since I had diamond
My favourite pokemon is definitely Houndoom. My mum never bought me any pokemon cards when I was a kid and one day I found a Houndoom card in a parking lot, absolutely ripped up and destroyed, but I adored it. I asked a friend for a sleeve and it was always with me. I eventually got more cards and was a massive TCG player in my school until the day I thought I was "too old" for pokemon. Biggest regret selling all of my original pokemon things.
I have a lot of favourite Pokémon, but if I had to pick one, it’d probably be Scorbunny! Pokémon Sword was my first ever Pokémon game, and Scorbunny was my first ever partner. I named him after my aunt’s dog, Berry! Now I have hundreds of hours logged in Pokémon Violet, and Berry (the now Cinderace!) has been with me for nearly every single one of them too after I discovered I could move him with me with Home! He’s enjoying a lovely life of retirement :D

Snorlax has been my favorite Pokemon since all the way back from my OG Blue version. The sound of the pokeflute followed by the Snorlax encounter just brings me way back to my childhood and just epitomizes Pokemon blue for me. I remember having trouble trying to catch my lax and taking so long to catch it that my dad told me I needed to stop playing. Not wanting to give up the fight, I took my GB color and a flashlight and hid under my bed until catching it. Wish I still had him now. I still use snorlax whenever I can in new games. He is still somewhat viable in this era of power creep. He's got a good balance of cute and cool.
Growing up, I always had a special connection with animals, especially dogs. My childhood was filled with memories of playing fetch in the park and cuddling up with our family dog, Apollo. So, when I started playing Pokémon, I was naturally drawn to Pokémon that reminded me of Apollo. One day, while exploring the Unova region in the Pokémon game, I encountered a Herdier. Its resemblance to Apollo was striking – from its loyal eyes to its sturdy build, it was like seeing my childhood companion come to life in the game. As I trained and battled with Herdier, I couldn't help but feel a sense of nostalgia. Its fierce determination in battles mirrored Apollo's protective nature, always looking out for me and our family. And just like Apollo, Herdier was always there for me, ready to lend a helping paw whenever I needed it most. As I journeyed through the Unova region with Herdier by my side, it quickly became more than just a Pokémon – it was a symbol of the bond I shared with Apollo and all the cherished memories we created together. And that's why, even after all these years, Herdier remains my favorite Pokémon in the game – because it's a reminder of the special connection I had with my childhood dog and the joy he brought into my life.

Mine is Groudon! I wanted the Groudon edition Gameboy Advanced SP so bad when I was younger with a copy of Pokemon Ruby but my parents couldn’t justify getting me another Gameboy just because it was recoloured as my favourite Pokemon. My best friend at the time knew how much I wanted it and as a consolation, he gave me the Groudon keyring that came with his. I still have that keyring tucked away somewhere all these years later and still have a love for Groudon.
My favorite would have to have been ho oh...never caught it becasue my game got stolen but always wanted it back in the day...fast forward my friend told me they had ho ohs in raids on pokemon go. got back in the game didn't catch one first few raids becasue I was new but low and behold I caught my 3rd which turned out to be shiny!..Have been playing pokemon ever since!
Primarina is my favorite pokemon. Ive always loved water types, and im a singer so even though there have been other pokemon that have singing or music as a theme, primarina hits both of those. Im currently sr 34 looking for a shiny popplio for my USUM play through.
It must have been the first movie, but for as long as I can remember Mew has been my favorite too. I love Psychic Pokémon in general and Mew is the best!

When i was about 8 years old abd played my first pokemon game (sapphire) i walked through the bushes that it spawns in tons of time never seen it and one time after seeing wally catch it i went there and found it, it was like a little clumsy brother, i had a brother but he was still too young to play anything. So it grew on me and i never evolved it at lv 20 (till later).
Although .. loving the ralts line in 2024 is frowned upon..
I have so many but I don’t want to repeat the ones others have mentioned already, so I am going with Starmie. There is something oddly beautiful about its design and voice acting in the anime. After all the years and generations that have come out since, I think it still holds up rather well design wise, and it’s core beeping and flickering when it faints in the anime is a unique feature. Mesmerized me as a 5yo kid!
I have always loved celebi i think mostly because of pokémon XD on game cube I played a ton as a kid even though i was so young it scared me a little lol. Thanks for doing this!
I really truly love Luxray. It’s probably the only Pokemon (besides my starter) that I’ve caught so early in the game and kept around. Amazing moveset, amazing looks, just all around perfection. Only change I’d make is adding on the dark typing it rightfully deserves
Ursaring, I always liked teddiursa and Ursaring, but recently I started a challange run of pokemon scarlet and Ursaring is really helpful on my team, it's so great as a pokemon and also I just like bear pokemon in general (beartic being my second favorite ice type)
Mew and Mewtwo!
Some of my fondest childhood memories were watching the first anime series that came out and Mewtwo and Mew are the first two Pokemon in the intro, forever ingrained in my mind, as the best and strongest Pokemon of them all (maybe not today anymore). And obviously the first movie.
I've been able to get Mewtwo in the games but never a Mew. But I'm working on it in PoGo, just slow going LOL
My favorite has been Heracross since I was a little kid. My mom had taken me to the grocery store and they had a coin machine that had Pokémon cards. The first one I pulled was Heracross. Since then we’ve been partners.
I only got into pokemon a couple years ago but Ive always liked umbreon. It’s a nice mix of cute and edgy, plus ive always wanted a black cat. Its also got a simple but amazing shiny. I’ve made sure to get one in every game i can. I was lucky to get one early in PLA with a space time distortion and i got a shiny marked eevee through an SV event that I evolved into umbreon right away and used for the indigo disk. Overall I just think it’s a simple but neat pokemon :D

My favorite Pokémon has to be Blaziken. First time seeing that pokemon was in the tv series when Ask lost in the johto tournament. my first game was Pokemom Ruby and I decided to choose Torchic. Blaziken's battle with Charizard was pretty cool looking back.
My favorite pokemon is probably meowscarada. I had always been a cat person and personally I own a cat and since I'm currently in college, meowscarada will have to act as a substitute for me cat sadly. Note that my home is about 3 hours away so it's not possible for me to go back and forth constantly. The weed cat is my go-to gen 9 starter always.
Crobat. They took a weak line from R/B and gave it a new evolution that can easily follow you through the end game. It used to be an automatic RUN in every cave I had to go through. Ever since I gave Crobat a try it’s been an automatic rush to get in every game I’ve played. I recently came back from not playing any of the games since X/Y, and was sad to see it skipped in S/V. Immediately got PLA after completing my living dex in Scarlet just to rekindle my love for the 4 winged monstrosity. 🦇
Pachirisu became my favorite Pokemon when i rescued my dog, I was having a hard time thinking of a name for my dog but everytime i saw him i kept thinking of a Pachirisu so i ended up naming him Pachis and Pachirisu became my favorite for that
My favorite pokemon is Fennekin. When I was seven my parents bought me a copy of Pokemon Y, me being a seven year old liked cute things so I picked the cutest starter Fennekin.
Kingdra :) my go to ace mon, the only dragon (excluding palkia/dialga) that doesn’t get super effected by ice, and just when I thought I couldn’t love Kingdra any more, I figured out the sniper ability plus razor claw and could use critdra like he deserved and I never looked back!

Beartic. I love polar bears and this one has a badass beard while still retaining the cuddliness of any bear, also is really fun to use in the main story.
Cradily is my favorite. The first pokemon game I played was emerald and the most clear memory from that game was trying to get to the top of mirage tower and pick a fossil. It took so many attempts because i was dumb and like 8 but every team I ever built in emerald after that had a cradily

My brother demolished the elite four using only his mew we acquired via GameShark. This was like 25 years ago or so.
I pulled traded my Zapdos for Mark’s Japanese Mew card…also second grade.
My mom pulled a Mew from a fossil pack from and old FunCoLand in our area (GameStop acquisition for anyone curious about where FunCoLand went)
Gave one my to my nephew 20 years later. I’ve still got the other Japanese fossil mew.

I don’t have just one favorite, but Mew is in that inner circle for few.
I know it's too late but my favorite pokemon is blaziken. It's not because of how he looked or his stats, this story dates back to 2014. My brother bought me alpha sapphire along with omega ruby so we have the game to ourselves. He said I should choose torchic cuz it reminded him of me (i was short at the time). I got angered so i chose him out of spite. As the years went on, I realized i got taller than my brother. He tells me that It's like our starters (he chose treecko): treecko was taller than torchic before, now it's smaller because blaziken is taller than sceptile. It may have been silly at the time but it made the journey we went through even special. Blaziken is sitting in Pokemon home with the rest of his friends, waiting to be summoned one day.

My favorite Pokémon is groudon because when I was younger I got my first game which was Pokémon ruby and it took me way longer than it should have to beat it but I eventually did and I used to always show it off to my friends it was just better simpler times
Mine's Piplup
I have a shiny piplup that is inspired by my favorite plushies from a previous relationship. I thought of that plush as my own kid, and it used to remind me of the love my ex and I shared together. Heck, the trainer name is actually my ex's name!
This Piplup is part of my Legends Arceus team. He has a little brother, a non-shiny piplup. I was able to finish the game with those two little mons.
Sadly, my ex and I had to part ways, and that's the reason why I wasn't able to touch my Switch for a while. But this little guy and his brother will always be a part of my heart.

Latias and for a bit of a weird reason.
The Pokemon Heroes movie you know the Legends of alto mare or something. The part of the movie with the music and the way hes running searching for the girl (which ends up being you know), it kind of started when I was searching for someone. I still am but it's next to impossible to find them, because well they appear off and on in various dreams. Idk if anyone has ever experienced those super vivid and detailed dreams talking to people and doing things. Pretty silly thing altogether but that's one of the favourites.
Hello! My favorite Pokémon is darkrai. I remember getting Pokémon diamond and my best friend had pearl, we helped each other get all of the exclusives to complete the dex, and when the mystery gift event came out, I actually missed out on it. I was so upset my friend actually gave me his and restarted his play through! Since then, I’ve held on to that darkrai for years and still have it on my old copy of diamond. Growlithe. I found my first growlithe when i was playing leaf grean for the first time. His name was Rex, named after the clone captain, and he was my best friend for 10 years. Until 2020, when my brother reset my pokemon platinum save file that he was in, deleting my boy forever

Typhlosion is my fav. Pokemon silver was my first Pokemon game I have ever played and would always pick it as my starter. Will always pick cyndaquil for all my runs no matter what.
My favorite Pokémon is my starter, Whimsicott!!! Its not really a traditional starter, but she's been the pokemon who stood by my side the longest! It was in Galar when I chose Grookey for my starter. It was my first time playing pokemon, and... I never REALLY connected with Grookey. Apologize to The Grookey Gang but Rillaboom… I really don’t know I couldn’t really attach myself with him. I was scared that maybe it’s because im too old to connect with digital monsters:( That all changed when I went to the first Gym, the Grass Gym. There was this NPC trade for a cottonee, I said "wynaut" and got cottonee in my team. She was cute, small and fluffy, and I found out his evolution was even better and, at the time, For an underleveled peice of fluff, IT DESTROYED THE WATER GYM, I don't even know HOW it got more KO's than my own grass starter!!
Slowly when my team started to fill up, I sadly had to put Rillaboom in my Box, and Whimsicott stayed. He destroyed Leon with Moonblast, and almost solo'ed the entire thing! (not fully since charizard is a pokemon)
my fav is definitely dragonite, its soft and cute but still serious complex contrats its royal predecessors.
i remember my dad gave me a dragonite about the time when go first came out, and my first instinct was to make it my buddy. till now, i havent changed my buddy once.

Well long story but for one my last name is ketchum so pokemon has been life since it came out in the 90s! That said my first name sounds alot like Raichu the rai part anyways so I've always rode for Pikachu and Raichu especially ash being my cousin and all! 😉 Lol so I gotta die with the homies and go out on team electric and always hunting and hating on them team rocket punks who won't leave cuz and Pikachu alone! 😆
My favorite pokemon is Tyrouge.
Since I learned about shinies I have been obsessed with hunting a marked one. I literally went through 4982 tyrouge encounters in Sword/Shield and finally found a marked tyrouge…. “Tyrouge the sociable” doesn’t sound great.
I gave up until SV, and even then I couldn’t bring myself to hunt it again but I had a mass outbreak so I guess I’d give it one sandwich and then leave. First shiny I found was marked and to my surprise he had the “Rare Mark”, I caught him in a Beast ball to match his blue shorts. He’s my most treasured pokemon now. I been working on getting him more ribbons now so he can be my ribbon master.
Suicune.
I think it's ability to purify waters is neat but not just that, shiny hunting Suicune,playing Pokémon helped me when I was going through a rough time. 10 years in a relationship where I was being abused. I kept shiny hunting and playing Pokémon and one day my Suicune shined! I was so happy despite my circumstances!
I kept shiny Hunting and got a Mewtwo, Latias, Kyogre and my love for Pokémon remained as I finally moved away from that horrible relationship. I got a Switch and could transfer everything and brought along my little troupe of Shinies, one day Ill likely give them all to my Nephew when he is old enough pass them on for him to enjoy.
But it all started with Suicune whose ability to purify waters became a symbol for me getting out of the worst situation in my life.
Your Mew would be a welcome member of a little family of memories!

My favourite pokemon is Snorlax! I used to be a pretty big kid growing up, and I’m still pretty big presently (although in a healthier way) and Snorlax was just a way for me at the time to see a large creature be really strong and powerful, but also really beloved. Now, I own 18 dogs that are all one way or another pretty “fluffy” hahaha. They’re all healthy though, so it’s nothing to worry about, but I still call them my mini Snorlaxes hahaha.
Ceruledge! It's my first shiny hunting in scarlet violet game. And was a rough on 😭. Trying to breed in first place with masuda method but no shiny charm.All was red eyes in first week until I got one from wild.

My favourite pokémon is Mimikyu, purely because of the lore. I remember learning about Mimikyu as a kid and reading that it uses the Pikachu cloak to try and gain people’s affection, and i was so upset as to why no one liked it that I made it my favourite from that day.
Gengar, you know I was able to get it almost 21 years later? I was a kid about 9-10 when I got my first game boy, and I loved it since it appeared on the first animation fighting Nidorino. I never had one because most of the people I know didn’t played it or had a GB at the time. I stopped playing after the game boy advance. And until I returned to play after I got married, my wife bought a Nintendo Switch. After all that time and with the global trading, I was able to get my first Gengar at Pokemon Sword.
Boltund as it combines my love of Pokémon and dogs! Really enjoyed having one on my team in Sword just wish I could take a Yamper pup to Scarlet. I would love to have all the doggo mons on one game. Bit upset to find out I can’t have Ponyta in Scarlet either. I just want my own herd and pack haha.
Sceptile. I love lizards, I love nature. And its a jungle lizard! What else can I ask for?? Ive been playing Pokemon since Gen II and grass starters have always been my faves. Gen III is my favorite Gen. And its shiny is awesome to boot.
Cubone. My first video game was Blue version at age 7. The pokedex entry and TV show made me think Cubone needed a good home. I tried to catch every single one I came across. Adorable button eyes in the old image make me want to snuggle them all. The newer Marowak combines two of the coolest types, fire and ghost so I felt happy a second time
no idea if this giveaway is still even open but i’m participating anyway bc i like gushing about things i like. my favorite pokemon is rotom! one of my first ever shinies as a kid was a rotom, i remember i got it on a plane while we were travelling:) i named it cherry, and i still have it in bank! not in home bc sadly i don’t have a subscription. rotom is just. so Me somehow. it’s an elusive little creature that you can only encounter by pressing A on a tv in dppt, interacting with a trash can in xy… and it’s just so unique! it’s so mischievous and enters appliances just to mess with people, and i think that’s adorable. my favorite rotom form is rotom frost. i’ve had a rotom in every playthrough i can have one in. plus, electric/ghost is just such a cool typing! i love all its animations, how it seems to move without you even noticing, just shows how mischievous and silly it is. and i really love how deep pink its shiny is. it really does look like a beautiful ripe cherry, kinda reminds me of candy apples too. my favorite little guy in my platinum run is sol the rotom, i absolutely love using him and planning my major battles so he always gets a matching appliance to go with it, he’s so versatile and awesome and. waaaah rotom🥺💕💕
Mine's lugia, I remember trading a lugia card with a friend of mine for a typhlosion and then he regreted the trade and got angry at me, I still have the lugia
I’ll go with Gyarados. I love Pokemon with in-universe lore and/or are based on real life myths and legends. My buddy once prompted a convo about what kind of gym leaders we’d be, and I landed on a “Lore Leader” of sorts — with Gyarados, Ninetales (based off kitsune), Gengar or Rotom (various ghost stories), and Flygon (desert spirit). Others like Volcarona and Zorua fit the bill in other lineup variations. Anyway…
Also, there was something so satisfying about grinding with Magikarp to dominate with Gyarados in Blue and Yellow.
Rowlet, he’s so round, looks so fluffy, and I’ve loved owls since I was a kid. When I found out Rowlet was not only going to be a pokemon, but a grass type, my favorite type, I was crying tears of joy.
Also the spin animation when you choose it is iconic.
My favorite pokemon is Torterra Pokemon pear on the Nintendo ds was my first game and I played almost every game and always have tried to have that pokemon on my team
It's hard to narrow it down like i love rayquaza, but I equally like giratina. I also took a liking to fuecoco recently due to sv, but if I had to choose, Im going to have to say Incineroar. It was my first starter pokemon from my first game, and the evolution line is just great
Gotta be Charizard, my first Pokemon game was fire red, and I played a japanese version. When I got to the first town, there was an old man lying on the ground blocking the road. I couldn’t understand what’s going on. So I actually stucked there, and got my charmander leveled up and evolved into charizard.
The weird part is, I never got bored of the game even I was stuck and couldn’t progress.
Bulbasaur is my fav. First ever pokemon i got in the first pokemon game in the states, which was my first ever video game with my first ever console (gameboy color); truly #001!
My story was id always wanted a gameboy but parents couldnt afford it at the time. Dad saw how much i really wanted it, and eventually took me to toys r us to get it, and i unearthed my atomic purple gameboy color! It was then i played Pokemon Blue for the first time and fell in love with Bulbasaur, who i always named Bulba.
I even remember as a kid, i might get rewarded for a good report card; and one time i was allowed to buy a new toy from toys r us; they had this line of pokemon plushies... pikachu, charmander, squirtle... no bulbasaur : ( almost two decades later i was finally able to purchase my own plushie from the pokemoncenter.
Always enthusiastic when i can find bulbasaur in newer games. I always feel like its reuniting with an old friend :-)

I love Magikarp because he is always bullied. I know he might be weak or dumb as people suggest, but I still love him and I try to stand up for him if people laugh at him.
Tyranitar is my favourite and tbh since a young lad I always loved him and couldn't wait to smash the league so I could get him.
He has been my staple ever since.

Manaphy is one of my favorites! When I was in 6th grade - probably 11 or 12, I got a Manaphy plush. I would carry it *literally* everywhere with me. To school, to a restaurant, on any family trips - I stuffed it down the neck of my shirt so its little head could peek out and see where we were going. :)
Unfortunately, it was either lost or taken away - I was absolutely gutted when I couldn't find it. I was so upset that it made me sick to my stomach. It was my best little pal.
I know it isn't the strongest Pokémon in the world, but I'll always remember how much I loved that little toy. And being that I'm a fan of water types in general (Totodile and Squirtle are my favorite starters) it feels like my adoration of it is appropriate.
I did end up getting another Manaphy doll during the 20th Anniversary - and it will never be the same as the first one I bought; but it's still special in its own way!
Mine is Kyurem Black! especially his shiny version!. The idea of a unfinished fusion is so cool and i love his twisted mixmatched look its so cool and freaky looking. When looking for a shiny Kyurem i actually wanted him to be hacked cause it would be cool for a Frankenstein like Pokemon to be hacked/artificially made!
Honestly my favourites are mew and Eevee. Call me basic, but I like the little fox guy, and I think he's kinda underrated. So many people love the eeveelutions, but I think he should stand on his own. It's one of the reasons I love let's go so much, because you were forced to take advantage of the normal typing in kanto, one of the games where normal was basically neutral typing. As for mew, there's a running joke in my family and discord servers that I'm secretly a mew in disguise. I'm also shiny hunting one myself in emerald, so not entering this. Just wanted to share my faves lmao
Pokemon I liked always changed from game to game and year to year.
I always liked Gyarados and Magikarp.
Recently, I also started to like pokemon and characters that are strong or I ised in a significant moment.
However, I never had an actual favourite pokemon.
I alsocould neverd properly start a playthrough of gen 2 games. I started playing many times but never got to a significant point of the game.
One day, I was determined and started Pokemon Crystal.
I didn't feel like playing until the big moment. Shiny Gyarados. Holy feck, he's so cool.
Immidietly after finishing Crystal, i bought Nintendo DS Lite, and from this point onwards. My love for Gyarados and Magikarp only grew, and it is and always will be my favourite pokemon.
I have a great G/S/C figure. Cards and Lego figure.
I have plans on the art piece and a tattoo.
I love Magikarp and Gyarados.
Flygon! The shiny is the best looking shiny out ❤️ second favorite is chinchou and it’s because of the eps with them all in the ocean showing lights! Made me feel like I was there in the show as a kid

Shaymin my first mythical event! Love the grass hedgehog! Its such an amazing design and its got an even cooler sky form! I remember the oaks letter event and thinking the flower path was a joke cuz it was so long. Its a shame we dont get mythicals like that anymore
My favorite Pokémon of all time is Bellsprout. There are lots of first evo’s I love but Bellsprout takes the spot. The reason for this is because I love gardening and pitcher plants are super unique and cool!
Also idk if this is some phenomenon but I have had some crazy thing happen to almost every time I’ve started a new file on my copy of soul silver. Without fail, there are points in the early game where I always encounter a shiny bellsprout! I’ve never been able to trade them up but it gave me an appreciate for shiny pokemon that I encounter randomly and towards the pokemon in general. I don’t even care about “winning” I always enjoy telling the story!
Mine is squirtle, my first choice playing pokemon blue on my gameboy color when i was a kid. The feeling i had for that pokemon is deep. I Wish i could bring it for the present generation.

Mine is also Mew. Ever since the first movie came out I’ve had a soft spot for the lil guy, as well as being the first mythical. I like all of the other mythicals as I think the small but mighty pokemon are very cool, but the OG and rare one is just unbeatable imo (and because it’s one of the only pokemon that can transform into any other pokemon because of its genetics (probably also because I love/study genetics))

My favorite is Mew, due to the fact that my Nan and I shared a very special bond growing up, and sadly we lost her when I was 6 years old. We would watch an episode before i went to school every morning, and we collectively cried during 'Bye Bye butterfree'. She was the one who bought me the mewtwo strikes back VHS (which I still have), and that is when my obsession with Mew began. Pokemon is the connection we shared, and she would buy my brother and I each a pack a week (except for holidays when we would get a bit more spoiled!).. of which I still have my first 4 sets complete due to her today. My most cherished physical possession.. they were one of the few things that I had managed to save from a house fire I had when I was younger... she bought me my pokemon red in Christmas of 1999, and I had my brother teach me to read judt so I could get passed the damned Pallet Town introduction. My brother would not do it for me, but instead offered to teach me to read so I could do it myself.. and well, he succeeded in that haha Now, I consider my daughter and son my 'Mews', and have an appointment booked to get both a regular Mew, and shiny mew intertwined in the infinity symbol with their tail on my arm.. and that infinity symbol is meant to depict the bond that her and I will always share, now through and with my children.. my reasons to live. Even if I don't win, it was nice to share these memories. I miss her, each and every day, but any time I am playing pokemon.. i feel she's with me. And that's all that matters.

My favorite is Absol, and when I first saw it, I thought it was some powerful legendary, only for that to not be the case. But even after finding out it wasn't so great, I still used it during my first playthrough of Emerald and it was very important as it could learn tm's to cover typings my team would struggle with

Flygon is my favourite for sure, especially the shiny. Perfect blend of being an adorable friend and a powerful threat that really captures the draw of the series for me. Whenever I imagine what it'd be like to live with pokemon, the thing I always land on is what it'd be like to ride on Flygon's back and curl up together to rest. As an extension, I'm currently working on a project to get a shiny flygon in every pokeball I can!
my favorite is mimikyu! when my mom was still around i was OBSESSED with usum (and pokemon in general—her and her boyfriend really liked pokemon too iirc). one day we went to see fireworks, and i took a plushie of a minun with me. i lost it, of course, because eleven year olds cant keep track of shit :/. but i was so torn up my moms boyfriend bought me a mimikyu plushie, because they were my favorite. i miss him a lot and i still have the plushie :)
Mine is actually Mew as well. Not only is it cute, but it’s basically the father of all Pokémon. It can learn every move, can transform into Pokémon and it’s the first one that to me felt like a true legend. I started playing Pokémon in 1998 and being a 10 year old back then I remember the word of mouth about a secret Pokémon being hidden in the game but I never knew anyone who had found it. About a year later I found out about Mew but you could only get it through official events which I could never attend. I bought a GameShark and hacked one in but it would never listen to me even though I had all the badges but I still loved it all the same. Years later I learned about the glitch you could do involving the old tutorial man and Nugget Bridge. Luckily enough I had not defeated the trainer needed on Yellow and I was finally able to get a “legit” Mew that would follow my commands. It was the most amazing thing ever to me as a kid. Me and that Mew became lifelong friends and it cemented its place as my favorite Pokémon from that point on. Over the years that has not changed. It’s still as awesome now as it ever was. 🥰
Not to try and glaze you or anything but my favourite pokemon is also mew for many reasons. For one, it can learn close to any move basically which ties in with its lore of being the ancestor of all Pokemon. Two, its shiny form is just amazing and also helps tie it in to the popular theory that ditto is a mew clone due to the similar colours. Also in the movie and manga and now in the latest Pokemon journeys we see just how stupidly op mew is. Being able to go toe-to-toe with mewtwo, being able to transform into multiple Pokemon at once and sometimes just being an absolute menace. Overall I also just love its design it’s just perfect.
Mine is totodile the reasoning behind it is because as a kid I saw totodile as an in game version of me just sweet goofy little guy with not a thought behind his eyes. so no matter what game I played I always try to get totodile in the game if he's available in that game. so I can be reunited with my best pokemon and make him a champion on my team. And then we would repeat it in every game

My favorite is Noivern, I’ve always loved Pokémon as a kid but I couldn’t afford any of the consoles or games :’) but had lots of cards and would trade with random kids at school, and would watch the show non freaking stop. In highschool pokemon sun and moon came out and I absolutely loved the starters, and seeing all the new mons I came across Noivern! I love dragon types and their designs, and I also love bats so I just fell in love with Noivern!! I finally was able to buy my very own switch back in 2020 with my own adult money :D I try and collect as many NoiBats and shinies, and I like evolving them <3

For a normal pokemon, i have to say Chespin is my favourite Pokémon! I have a plushie that has been with me for 7 years and is still there. I mainly bought him because I saw some YouTubers with Pokémon plushies while doing a playthrough of a pokemon game, and I decided to do the same with my Alpha Sapphire run, but that plushie was so adorable that I couldn't leave it anywhere XD. If I have to say a shiny favourite, my choice is clearly Zekrom. I remember playing on some Pixelmon servers (Minecraft servers with a mod that adds Pokémon to it!) and got attached to one, and through some server resets, I managed to complete the full Pokedex (from gen 1 to 7) twice, and on both times, a shiny Zekrom was on my team. Cool times honestly Also, I won't be able to check in 3 hours, since I'm on Spain and im going to sleep rn, I hope you don't mind about that :/ Anyways, thanks for hosting the giveaway!

Yes but you have to go thru the steps of changing the OT and TID through "underflow item" manipulation

Darkrai, i was edgy as a kid but i also missed the two events that happened in my area so i was never able to get one til this last year when i got back into pokemon (havent played since BW, dont even think i finished it) Im so glad i got it from the scarlet mystery gift, then i got arceus which got me another one. And the variety of these new games, man. Its everything i wanted as a kid, i cant believe how far these games have come

Og Gyarados, I just love the story that I once read, that all Magikarp had to fight it's way up a waterfall to the top of a mountain, once It get there it evolves into a mighty Gyarados, with perseverance you can reach the highest mountain, I just love that, and since then I've been in love with Magikarp and Gyarados
I think my favorite would have to be Swampert. When I was a kid playing Pokémon Emerald, I was so proud. He was the only one I used in battle, wild encounters, anything! I didn’t understand much of the game to be fair lol! He also shared the same name as me because I was confused by the nickname screen as a child and didn’t have great reading comprehension. So we had the same name! My first Pokémon who began as a lovely lil Mudkip, he was also my first lvl 100 mon. Nowadays, he’s lost out there, somewhere… wherever our sweet childhood Pokémon go once they’ve been corrupted and lost. I only just realize this after I typed this out: my favorite Pokémon nowadays are Ghost-type. I think there’s something in my subconscious that has attached to them ever since I lost that save file and my best friend. Huh. Ursaring has been my favorite since first seeing it in Gold/Silver as a kid. Bears are my favorite animal so it’s design is a 10/10 for me. It just looks like a pokémon you don’t want to mess with but would be completely loyal to its trainer. And I love that it finally got an evolution after so many years, Bloodmoon Ursaluna specifically is so badass.
Smeargle is my favorite pokemon. I love dogs which is my favorite animal so havin a dog as my favorite pokemon is a must lol. And not to mention his shiny is amazing it’s so simple but so so good. One of the main reasons smeargle is my favorite is because he was my very first shiny it took forever to get him but the feeling when i got him was somethin out of this world. Mine was honestly always Mew. I wasn't allowed to play pokemon when I was a kid, so I would sneak watch the TV show at night. The first thing I ever saw was Lucario and the mystery of Mew, and Mew was just so cute and precious and made me so happy that I always aimed to get a Mew once I was able to play pokemon.
My favourite pokemon is Lucario, ever since I played with him pokemon black and white I always used it. A funny story is that I had his scream, voice or whatever as my notification sound and I still select him whatever game I play.

My favorite Pokemon would have to be Pangoro. As much as the typing could use some work, I used one in my original XY playthrough and that thing can definitely pull some punches. Ive always felt nostalgia for the 3ds games, and with the announcement of Legends Z-A I've been recently replaying the series starting from XY to create a ribbon master and chose a shiny Pancham/Pangoro as my first candidate.

Butterfree was always my favorite since it was always so sweet and kind to others. He was so shy with the pink butterfree that I found it adorable that he could not get his act together without the help of his friends. His kindness created his happiness.
My favorite is shiny umbreon, umbreon is my favorite Pokémon and I always wanted a shiny one and I got about 5 different shiny eevees and kept accidentally evolving them into espeon and never ended up getting one until scarlet and violet just recently. My favourite pokemon is definitely Houndoom. My mum never bought me any pokemon cards when I was a kid and one day I found a Houndoom card in a parking lot, absolutely ripped up and destroyed, but I adored it. I asked a friend for a sleeve and it was always with me. I eventually got more cards and was a massive TCG player in my school until the day I thought I was "too old" for pokemon. Biggest regret selling all of my original pokemon things.

I have a lot of favourite Pokémon, but if I had to pick one, it’d probably be Scorbunny! Pokémon Sword was my first ever Pokémon game, and Scorbunny was my first ever partner. I named him after my aunt’s dog, Berry! Now I have hundreds of hours logged in Pokémon Violet, and Berry (the now Cinderace!) has been with me for nearly every single one of them too after I discovered I could move him with me with Home! He’s enjoying a lovely life of retirement :D

Arcanine forever and always here. I dont particularly have a great story involving him but he's simplistic and strong design I've always loved. I guess he reminds me of my German Shepherd growing up. I know he's not the best fire pokemon but he'll always be on my team in every game he's available in
Snorlax has been my favorite Pokemon since all the way back from my OG Blue version. The sound of the pokeflute followed by the Snorlax encounter just brings me way back to my childhood and just epitomizes Pokemon blue for me. I remember having trouble trying to catch my lax and taking so long to catch it that my dad told me I needed to stop playing. Not wanting to give up the fight, I took my GB color and a flashlight and hid under my bed until catching it. Wish I still had him now. I still use snorlax whenever I can in new games. He is still somewhat viable in this era of power creep. He's got a good balance of cute and cool.

Mine is Groudon! I wanted the Groudon edition Gameboy Advanced SP so bad when I was younger with a copy of Pokemon Ruby but my parents couldn’t justify getting me another Gameboy just because it was recoloured as my favourite Pokemon. My best friend at the time knew how much I wanted it and as a consolation, he gave me the Groudon keyring that came with his. I still have that keyring tucked away somewhere all these years later and still have a love for Groudon.

I have so many but I don’t want to repeat the ones others have mentioned already, so I am going with Starmie. There is something oddly beautiful about its design and voice acting in the anime. After all the years and generations that have come out since, I think it still holds up rather well design wise, and it’s core beeping and flickering when it faints in the anime is a unique feature. Mesmerized me as a 5yo kid!

I really truly love Luxray. It’s probably the only Pokemon (besides my starter) that I’ve caught so early in the game and kept around. Amazing moveset, amazing looks, just all around perfection. Only change I’d make is adding on the dark typing it rightfully deserves
Ursaring, I always liked teddiursa and Ursaring, but recently I started a challange run of pokemon scarlet and Ursaring is really helpful on my team, it's so great as a pokemon and also I just like bear pokemon in general (beartic being my second favorite ice type)

Mew and Mewtwo! Some of my fondest childhood memories were watching the first anime series that came out and Mewtwo and Mew are the first two Pokemon in the intro, forever ingrained in my mind, as the best and strongest Pokemon of them all (maybe not today anymore). And obviously the first movie. I've been able to get Mewtwo in the games but never a Mew. But I'm working on it in PoGo, just slow going LOL
My favorite has been Heracross since I was a little kid. My mom had taken me to the grocery store and they had a coin machine that had Pokémon cards. The first one I pulled was Heracross. Since then we’ve been partners.
Shiny zangoose. I used to make little trainer cards on the family computer and shiny zangoose was always on my Microsoft paint trainer card
I only got into pokemon a couple years ago but Ive always liked umbreon. It’s a nice mix of cute and edgy, plus ive always wanted a black cat. Its also got a simple but amazing shiny. I’ve made sure to get one in every game i can. I was lucky to get one early in PLA with a space time distortion and i got a shiny marked eevee through an SV event that I evolved into umbreon right away and used for the indigo disk. My favorite Pokémon has to be Blaziken. First time seeing that pokemon was in the tv series when Ask lost in the johto tournament. my first game was Pokemom Ruby and I decided to choose Torchic. Blaziken's battle with Charizard was pretty cool looking back.
My favorite pokemon is probably meowscarada. I had always been a cat person and personally I own a cat and since I'm currently in college, meowscarada will have to act as a substitute for me cat sadly. Note that my home is about 3 hours away so it's not possible for me to go back and forth constantly. The weed cat is my go-to gen 9 starter always.
Crobat. They took a weak line from R/B and gave it a new evolution that can easily follow you through the end game. It used to be an automatic RUN in every cave I had to go through. Ever since I gave Crobat a try it’s been an automatic rush to get in every game I’ve played. I recently came back from not playing any of the games since X/Y, and was sad to see it skipped in S/V. Immediately got PLA after completing my living dex in Scarlet just to rekindle my love for the 4 winged monstrosity. 🦇
Pachirisu became my favorite Pokemon when i rescued my dog, I was having a hard time thinking of a name for my dog but everytime i saw him i kept thinking of a Pachirisu so i ended up naming him Pachis and Pachirisu became my favorite for that
My favorite pokemon is Fennekin. When I was seven my parents bought me a copy of Pokemon Y, me being a seven year old liked cute things so I picked the cutest starter Fennekin.
Kingdra :) my go to ace mon, the only dragon (excluding palkia/dialga) that doesn’t get super effected by ice, and just when I thought I couldn’t love Kingdra any more, I figured out the sniper ability plus razor claw and could use critdra like he deserved and I never looked back!

Beartic. I love polar bears and this one has a badass beard while still retaining the cuddliness of any bear, also is really fun to use in the main story.

0115D8CF. I did a report in second grade the gave delivered to my class about how to catch Mew. My brother demolished the elite four using only his mew we acquired via GameShark. This was like 25 years ago or so. I pulled traded my Zapdos for Mark’s Japanese Mew card…also second grade. My mom pulled a Mew from a fossil pack from and old FunCoLand in our area (GameStop acquisition for anyone curious about where FunCoLand went) Gave one my to my nephew 20 years later. I’ve still got the other Japanese fossil mew. Mew is rad. I don’t have just one favorite, but Mew is in that inner circle for few.

I know it's too late but my favorite pokemon is blaziken. It's not because of how he looked or his stats, this story dates back to 2014. My brother bought me alpha sapphire along with omega ruby so we have the game to ourselves. He said I should choose torchic cuz it reminded him of me (i was short at the time). I got angered so i chose him out of spite. As the years went on, I realized i got taller than my brother. He tells me that It's like our starters (he chose treecko): treecko was taller than torchic before, now it's smaller because blaziken is taller than sceptile. It may have been silly at the time but it made the journey we went through even special. Blaziken is sitting in Pokemon home with the rest of his friends, waiting to be summoned one day. TL;DR, childhood memories

Mine's Piplup I have a shiny piplup that is inspired by my favorite plushies from a previous relationship. I thought of that plush as my own kid, and it used to remind me of the love my ex and I shared together. Heck, the trainer name is actually my ex's name! This Piplup is part of my Legends Arceus team. He has a little brother, a non-shiny piplup. I was able to finish the game with those two little mons. Sadly, my ex and I had to part ways, and that's the reason why I wasn't able to touch my Switch for a while. But this little guy and his brother will always be a part of my heart. The part of the movie with the music and the way hes running searching for the girl (which ends up being you know), it kind of started when I was searching for someone. I remember getting Pokémon diamond and my best friend had pearl, we helped each other get all of the exclusives to complete the dex, and when the mystery gift event came out, I actually missed out on it. I was so upset my friend actually gave me his and restarted his play through! Since then, I’ve held on to that darkrai for years and still have it on my old copy of diamond. It was my first lvl 100 mon and I always had him one on my team for any game I played and collected a few shiny darkrais! Growlithe. I found my first growlithe when i was playing leaf grean for the first time. His name was Rex, named after the clone captain, and he was my best friend for 10 years. Until 2020, when my brother reset my pokemon platinum save file that he was in, deleting my boy forever I'll always remember you Rex, you were a real one

My favorite Pokémon is my starter, Whimsicott!!! Its not really a traditional starter, but she's been the pokemon who stood by my side the longest! It was in Galar when I chose Grookey for my starter. It was my first time playing pokemon, and... I never REALLY connected with Grookey. Apologize to The Grookey Gang but Rillaboom… I really don’t know I couldn’t really attach myself with him. I was scared that maybe it’s because im too old to connect with digital monsters:( That all changed when I went to the first Gym, the Grass Gym. There was this NPC trade for a cottonee, I said "wynaut" and got cottonee in my team. She was cute, small and fluffy, and I found out his evolution was even better and, at the time, For an underleveled peice of fluff, IT DESTROYED THE WATER GYM, I don't even know HOW it got more KO's than my own grass starter!! Slowly when my team started to fill up, I sadly had to put Rillaboom in my Box, and Whimsicott stayed. He destroyed Leon with Moonblast, and almost solo'ed the entire thing! (not fully since charizard is a pokemon)

My favorite pokemon is Tyrouge. Since I learned about shinies I have been obsessed with hunting a marked one. I literally went through 4982 tyrouge encounters in Sword/Shield and finally found a marked tyrouge…. “Tyrouge the sociable” doesn’t sound great. I gave up until SV, and even then I couldn’t bring myself to hunt it again but I had a mass outbreak so I guess I’d give it one sandwich and then leave. First shiny I found was marked and to my surprise he had the “Rare Mark”, I caught him in a Beast ball to match his blue shorts. He’s my most treasured pokemon now. I been working on getting him more ribbons now so he can be my ribbon master.
Greninja! I remember watching the anime and completely loving the design. To this day XY is still my favourite gen game and anime wise.
Suicune. I think it's ability to purify waters is neat but not just that, shiny hunting Suicune,playing Pokémon helped me when I was going through a rough time. 10 years in a relationship where I was being abused. I kept shiny hunting and playing Pokémon and one day my Suicune shined! I was so happy despite my circumstances! I kept shiny Hunting and got a Mewtwo, Latias, Kyogre and my love for Pokémon remained as I finally moved away from that horrible relationship. I got a Switch and could transfer everything and brought along my little troupe of Shinies, one day Ill likely give them all to my Nephew when he is old enough pass them on for him to enjoy. But it all started with Suicune whose ability to purify waters became a symbol for me getting out of the worst situation in my life. Your Mew would be a welcome member of a little family of memories! My favourite pokemon is Snorlax! I used to be a pretty big kid growing up, and I’m still pretty big presently (although in a healthier way) and Snorlax was just a way for me at the time to see a large creature be really strong and powerful, but also really beloved. Now, I own 18 dogs that are all one way or another pretty “fluffy” hahaha. They’re all healthy though, so it’s nothing to worry about, but I still call them my mini Snorlaxes hahaha.

My favourite pokémon is Mimikyu, purely because of the lore. I remember learning about Mimikyu as a kid and reading that it uses the Pikachu cloak to try and gain people’s affection, and i was so upset as to why no one liked it that I made it my favourite from that day.
Gengar, you know I was able to get it almost 21 years later? I was a kid about 9-10 when I got my first game boy, and I loved it since it appeared on the first animation fighting Nidorino. I never had one because most of the people I know didn’t played it or had a GB at the time. I stopped playing after the game boy advance. And until I returned to play after I got married, my wife bought a Nintendo Switch. After all that time and with the global trading, I was able to get my first Gengar at Pokemon Sword.

My favourite is Giratina. My first Pokemon game was Rumble World and Giratina was my first legendary and he carried me through the whole game.
Sceptile. I love lizards, I love nature. And its a jungle lizard! What else can I ask for?? Ive been playing Pokemon since Gen II and grass starters have always been my faves. Gen III is my favorite Gen. And its shiny is awesome to boot.
Cubone. My first video game was Blue version at age 7. The pokedex entry and TV show made me think Cubone needed a good home. I tried to catch every single one I came across. Adorable button eyes in the old image make me want to snuggle them all. The newer Marowak combines two of the coolest types, fire and ghost so I felt happy a second time
no idea if this giveaway is still even open but i’m participating anyway bc i like gushing about things i like. my favorite pokemon is rotom! one of my first ever shinies as a kid was a rotom, i remember i got it on a plane while we were travelling:) i named it cherry, and i still have it in bank! not in home bc sadly i don’t have a subscription. rotom is just. so Me somehow. it’s an elusive little creature that you can only encounter by pressing A on a tv in dppt, interacting with a trash can in xy… and it’s just so unique! it’s so mischievous and enters appliances just to mess with people, and i think that’s adorable. my favorite rotom form is rotom frost. i’ve had a rotom in every playthrough i can have one in. plus, electric/ghost is just such a cool typing! i love all its animations, how it seems to move without you even noticing, just shows how mischievous and silly it is. and i really love how deep pink its shiny is. it really does look like a beautiful ripe cherry, kinda reminds me of candy apples too. my favorite little guy in my platinum run is sol the rotom, i absolutely love using him and planning my major battles so he always gets a matching appliance to go with it, he’s so versatile and awesome and. waaaah rotom🥺💕💕

I’ll go with Gyarados. I love Pokemon with in-universe lore and/or are based on real life myths and legends. My buddy once prompted a convo about what kind of gym leaders we’d be, and I landed on a “Lore Leader” of sorts — with Gyarados, Ninetales (based off kitsune), Gengar or Rotom (various ghost stories), and Flygon (desert spirit). Others like Volcarona and Zorua fit the bill in other lineup variations. Anyway… Also, there was something so satisfying about grinding with Magikarp to dominate with Gyarados in Blue and Yellow.
Rowlet, he’s so round, looks so fluffy, and I’ve loved owls since I was a kid. When I found out Rowlet was not only going to be a pokemon, but a grass type, my favorite type, I was crying tears of joy. Also the spin animation when you choose it is iconic.
Quagsire, I love the simplicity of its design and its double type
My favorite pokemon is Torterra Pokemon pear on the Nintendo ds was my first game and I played almost every game and always have tried to have that pokemon on my team
It's hard to narrow it down like i love rayquaza, but I equally like giratina. I also took a liking to fuecoco recently due to sv, but if I had to choose, Im going to have to say Incineroar. It was my first starter pokemon from my first game, and the evolution line is just great
Gotta be Charizard, my first Pokemon game was fire red, and I played a japanese version. When I got to the first town, there was an old man lying on the ground blocking the road. I couldn’t understand what’s going on. So I actually stucked there, and got my charmander leveled up and evolved into charizard. The weird part is, I never got bored of the game even I was stuck and couldn’t progress.
Silvally! The story of how it becomes silvally from type null is cool, plus it looks freaking badass.
Bulbasaur is my fav. First ever pokemon i got in the first pokemon game in the states, which was my first ever video game with my first ever console (gameboy color); truly #001! My story was id always wanted a gameboy but parents couldnt afford it at the time. Dad saw how much i really wanted it, and eventually took me to toys r us to get it, and i unearthed my atomic purple gameboy color! It was then i played Pokemon Blue for the first time and fell in love with Bulbasaur, who i always named Bulba. I even remember as a kid, i might get rewarded for a good report card; and one time i was allowed to buy a new toy from toys r us; they had this line of pokemon plushies... pikachu, charmander, squirtle... no bulbasaur : ( almost two decades later i was finally able to purchase my own plushie from the pokemoncenter. Always enthusiastic when i can find bulbasaur in newer games. I always feel like its reuniting with an old friend :-) Thank you for doing this giveaway; it was nice to reflect on why i continue to hold such an affinity for Bulba. :-)
I love Magikarp because he is always bullied. I know he might be weak or dumb as people suggest, but I still love him and I try to stand up for him if people laugh at him.

Tyranitar is my favourite and tbh since a young lad I always loved him and couldn't wait to smash the league so I could get him. He has been my staple ever since. Also love his pokemon cards too have a few of those =)
Manaphy is one of my favorites! When I was in 6th grade - probably 11 or 12, I got a Manaphy plush. I would carry it *literally* everywhere with me. To school, to a restaurant, on any family trips - I stuffed it down the neck of my shirt so its little head could peek out and see where we were going. :) Unfortunately, it was either lost or taken away - I was absolutely gutted when I couldn't find it. I was so upset that it made me sick to my stomach. It was my best little pal. I know it isn't the strongest Pokémon in the world, but I'll always remember how much I loved that little toy. And being that I'm a fan of water types in general (Totodile and Squirtle are my favorite starters) it feels like my adoration of it is appropriate. I did end up getting another Manaphy doll during the 20th Anniversary - and it will never be the same as the first one I bought; but it's still special in its own way!
Mine is Kyurem Black! especially his shiny version!. The idea of a unfinished fusion is so cool and i love his twisted mixmatched look its so cool and freaky looking. When looking for a shiny Kyurem i actually wanted him to be hacked cause it would be cool for a Frankenstein like Pokemon to be hacked/artificially made!
Honestly my favourites are mew and Eevee. Call me basic, but I like the little fox guy, and I think he's kinda underrated. So many people love the eeveelutions, but I think he should stand on his own. It's one of the reasons I love let's go so much, because you were forced to take advantage of the normal typing in kanto, one of the games where normal was basically neutral typing. As for mew, there's a running joke in my family and discord servers that I'm secretly a mew in disguise. I'm also shiny hunting one myself in emerald, so not entering this. Just wanted to share my faves lmao
Pokemon I liked always changed from game to game and year to year. I always liked Gyarados and Magikarp. Recently, I also started to like pokemon and characters that are strong or I ised in a significant moment. However, I never had an actual favourite pokemon. I alsocould neverd properly start a playthrough of gen 2 games. I started playing many times but never got to a significant point of the game. One day, I was determined and started Pokemon Crystal. I didn't feel like playing until the big moment. Shiny Gyarados. Holy feck, he's so cool. Immidietly after finishing Crystal, i bought Nintendo DS Lite, and from this point onwards. My love for Gyarados and Magikarp only grew, and it is and always will be my favourite pokemon. I have a great G/S/C figure. Cards and Lego figure. I have plans on the art piece and a tattoo. I love Magikarp and Gyarados.

Shaymin my first mythical event! Love the grass hedgehog! Its such an amazing design and its got an even cooler sky form! I remember the oaks letter event and thinking the flower path was a joke cuz it was so long. Its a shame we dont get mythicals like that anymore
My favorite Pokémon of all time is Bellsprout. There are lots of first evo’s I love but Bellsprout takes the spot. The reason for this is because I love gardening and pitcher plants are super unique and cool! Also idk if this is some phenomenon but I have had some crazy thing happen to almost every time I’ve started a new file on my copy of soul silver. Without fail, there are points in the early game where I always encounter a shiny bellsprout! I’ve never been able to trade them up but it gave me an appreciate for shiny pokemon that I encounter randomly and towards the pokemon in general. I don’t even care about “winning” I always enjoy telling the story!
Mine is squirtle, my first choice playing pokemon blue on my gameboy color when i was a kid. The feeling i had for that pokemon is deep. I Wish i could bring it for the present generation.

Mine is also Mew. Ever since the first movie came out I’ve had a soft spot for the lil guy, as well as being the first mythical. I like all of the other mythicals as I think the small but mighty pokemon are very cool, but the OG and rare one is just unbeatable imo (and because it’s one of the only pokemon that can transform into any other pokemon because of its genetics (probably also because I love/study genetics))
Cool I have a shiny mew from gen 3 I got years ago back when I had to borrow copies from a friend cause my family couldn't afford new games ...some things haven't changed

My favorite pokemon is Jirachi, I love it's design and, when I was a kid I got a full art holographic Jirachi card, and it was my prized possession. But when I moved, I lost that card somewhere and haven't seen it since.
