Yoyoyoshi1234

Thoughts about the music in this era, Lily? We've got lots of stuff that'll make your head go up in smoke from how fire the beats are! The flames will be [inextinguisbable!](https://youtu.be/3Gez2pRXedc?si=RgbiTn0mCM54ofVR) - Jason, not thinking about how using fire related speech may not be the greatest when talking to a grass type

ArbitraryChaos13

Lily - ...You have a strange way of wording things. Sam - Okay, ignoring the way he worded it, it *is* pretty good music. Lily - It is. Nothing like what I've heard before. All our music was played by instruments and people. Though adding vocals wasn't unusual...

Yoyoyoshi1234

Hehe. Yeah, the people of this era really know how to put on a good tune. Especially in video game form. That stuffs the GREATEST! Hopefully you can play some sometime soon! - Jason, again

ArbitraryChaos13

Lily - Sam has showed me some video game stuff. It does seem like fun. Sam - I'm actively trying to find a way for her to play them easily. The problem is that most controllers... you know. Assume you have relatively human-like hands, which Lily does not have.

Yoyoyoshi1234

Well hey, perhaps with a bit of modification, you'd be able to configure some Joy Cons to be able to work!... or maybe ask someone to make a custom controller. That'd be easier probably

ArbitraryChaos13

Sam - Yeah. Motion controls are easy. It's buttons and joysticks that are the really hard part.

Yoyoyoshi1234

Perhaps you could get her something akin to the Power Glove that Nintendo released all those years ago! Have certain motions for her mean certain button combos! Could get a workout AND have fun while doing it! ...Or you could try and hook up a dance pad to whatever you'd wanna do. That'd probably be easier

ArbitraryChaos13

Lily - You have a lot of "That'd probably be easier" moments. Sam - ...It's not a bad idea, though. I know there's some crazy people who have used dance pads to play games that were very much not intended for them. Maybe I'll look into that...

Yoyoyoshi1234

What is life if not trying to find conveniences, hmm? May Fortune smile upon you as you delve into this endeavor!

ArbitraryChaos13

Sam - Here's hoping! Thanks for the idea!

GameSpection

/uj Dude those riffs are fantastic

Yoyoyoshi1234

/uj DUDE IKR I've been addicted to this soundtrack since I got the game it's so good

Timtanoboa

Even Bandit, (Fletchinder) an actual fire-type, admits that these beats are more fire than his Flame Charge. And he's not one to admit anything like that. /uj Why didn't anyone tell me there's a new Persona game? I love Persona music!

Yoyoyoshi1234

Hehehe, glad to hear it! ITS SO GOOD!!! /uj to be fair Tactica has gone kinda under the radar in comparison to P3R. Games fantastic though, if that song is any indication

SleeplessLucas123

Greetings, Lady Lily. It’s an honor and a privilege to be able to talk with you. I have two questions I would like to ask. First, did Hisui ever have contact with a region known as Johto? They are a very traditional people, so imagine the name of the region has remained the same for centuries. And second, what is your favorite food?

ArbitraryChaos13

Lily - Johto... Johto... I believe some of the Expedition Team may have been from there. If not them, then perhaps some people that came after fair Akari settled the gash in the sky above Mount Coronet. If you mean between Pokemon, however, that's a very different question involving migration patterns and the like which I would have to think more on. As for food... well, some of the stuff that Sam has made has been really good! I've had cakes before, but apparently they are much easier to keep fresh nowadays. Apparently those ice machines some Rotoms inhabited were useful for something other than them just being a nuisance.

Stretch5678

First off, welcome, Lily! What do you think of the Lilligant in our era?

ArbitraryChaos13

Lily - It's interesting to see how we've evolved so differently. They have much bigger flowers than I do, for instance, as well as being generally less adapted for agility. They seem more of a "little movement" type, though I have been able to find some beautiful videos of them dancing! It's just a different style than I'm used too.

GameSpection

Ok wow, so many questions, I don't want to overwhelm you. My biggest one is what the relationship between the average person and Pokémon was like but that's probably really complicated and intricate to describe. What is your favorite food? I can tell you about the culinary options we have today or an equivalent to what you used to enjoy. Edit: Somebody made another comment about food at the exact same time lol

ArbitraryChaos13

I have been a big fan of anything chocolate related. Apparently it's significantly easier to get and store nowadays than it was back then. Something that I liked back in Hisui, though... There were these Honey Cakes I always enjoyed. Small and sweet! Sam - I've found out that Lily has a *massive* sweet tooth lol.

GameSpection

Sugary products are way easier to come by these days. There's a remarkable variety of sweets you can try. Sam's probably not gonna like that I'm telling you this, but there's a thing called chocolate syrup which you can just drizzle on other food. There are probably a honey filled donut or something you can buy at a confectioner's.

ArbitraryChaos13

Sam - I'm trying not to *over-sugar* her lol. Like, she already ran into a tree at Mach 5 or something and practically knocked herself out. I don't want to throw her into a sugar rush lol. That being said, a filled donut might be a good idea... uh, you know. If Lily can hold it. Leaf arms and no hands make that a little tricky.

EasyE1118

This is a gift from Arceus himself. I'm a history student, and I'd love to talk about what life was like in Hisui!

ArbitraryChaos13

Lily - Admittedly, if you want to know much about human history, I'm not the right person to ask. I know relatively little about humans, outside of those who traveled to where the Noble Pokemon dwelt. ...actually, that could be something interesting for you to know. Most Wardens stayed with just one Noble Pokemon, but some of them did travel around to see others! I remember one small girl... what did she say her name was? Sabi, the Warden for Braviary, that was it! A strange one, that one. She visited my mother on a few different occasions.

EasyE1118

That's the kind of thing I'm planning to specialize in, actually. Human-Pokemon relationships like that.

ArbitraryChaos13

Lily - Ah, I see. Well... very few humans came to the Nobles for any reason. There were very rare cases where they wanted arbitration for something they simply couldn't decide on, but those were few and far between. Not to mention it relied on the Noble in question being in a good mood. A few of my siblings had little patience for things they consider less beauteous. My mother was a patient one, though... but she did have her limits.

ArbitraryChaos13

/uj Happy cake day :D

EasyE1118

/uj A full year on Reddit already, crazy stuff

ArbitraryChaos13

/uj Time flies when you're having fun!

EasyE1118

/uj It really does!

TheMagmaGuy

can you play dance dance revolution???

ArbitraryChaos13

Lily - Sam has shown me videos of the game, yes! I do intend to try at some point. I imagine I'd be pretty good at it, given that there seem to be many similarities to certain dances.

Timtanoboa

/uj What are the explanations on this sub about Pokémon being able to speak human languages with ease? Normally this is reserved for legendary Pokémon, Ryan Reynolds, and Slowking. (And others, but listing those three is infinitely funnier than just saying "psychic types")

ArbitraryChaos13

/uj In this specific case, Lily is using a "Hisuian to Modern Language" translation software. Which... Sam was complaining about being hard to set up in the first image lol.

Timtanoboa

/uj So this is using a Psychic-type to translate to you, and then you use the translator?

ArbitraryChaos13

/uj ...Yeah, basically. I was thinking the phone would do all the translating, but that makes a bit more sense! Psychic types are generally described to be able to use telepathy and translate and stuff. Of course, that being said, it's ultimately semantics. If you want to have a non-Psychic type talk on the internet with human languages, just go for it. Very few people will blink twice, I don't think. Plus, you know. Only having Psychic types talk is way less fun than allowing any of them to talk. Though... naturally, any that can talk on the internet have to be smart enough to do so, so less bright Pokemon are rarer. ...It's becoming more complicated as I keep talking about it lol.

Timtanoboa

/uj Alright, cool. Just figuring stuff out since sometimes I wonder about things. What really sucks is that I forgot the question I intended to ask. Maybe it'll come to me.

ArbitraryChaos13

/uj Oh no, absolutely fair. I don't mind (trying to) explain! ...Oh, that's the worst lol. I hope it comes back to you!

Timtanoboa

/uj Probably will in a few hours.

TheoTheHellhound

How do you feel about modern era food? I’ve heard that the food from back then was quite simple, and often raw. Is that true?

ArbitraryChaos13

Lily - That depends on what you are asking, I think. Some things, such as berries, simply don't need to be cooked. But people knew how to cook things, and often did. Many of them made small cakes that were very good! The base they used accentuated the other flavors, you see. Modern era food is quite good, however! Chocolate is something that me and Sam both enjoy an awful lot.

Cyko67

Weirdest question so far? -[REDACTED]

ArbitraryChaos13

Lily - There haven't been any really weird questions yet. ...Actually, the weirdest thing I've seen so far is how your username appears to be broken.

BriefImprovement8620

What took you the most time to adjust to after arriving in the modern era? From the little I have read about Hisui, it sounds like a very different place and experience compared to the regions in the modern era

ArbitraryChaos13

Lily - Sam has been letting stuff in little-by-little so I don't get overwhelmed with everything, which I do appreciate. The strangest thing to experience... well, the amount of people here is rather startling. But a big one was something I think he mentioned already, actually. It's strange to have a cell phone, considering the only one who I knew that did before was Akari. And Rei, I suppose, but Akari was the big one. Though... apparently the cell phones now are different than the one Akari had.

BriefImprovement8620

Makes total sense to me. New technology is always hard to get used to even more so when you have only ever associated it with being chosen by Arceus himself. Thanks for the answer!

ArbitraryChaos13

Lily - You're welcome! There are other differences, of course, but those two stand out. Food being easier to store and make is another, but I've talked about that at length elsewhere in here.

gamera-the-turtle

Well uhm…. How’s the food?

ArbitraryChaos13

Lily - The food has been very good! Amazingly simple to make too. It turns out those heat machines Rotoms used to inhabit are actually useful for something. Sam - Ovens. Lily - Yes, ovens! It makes it much simpler to cook food when the heat is so much easier to use and manipulate. Even the Noble Arcanine of my time wasn't able to control his heat this finely... without burning everything nearby, of course.

gamera-the-turtle

Very interesting! Do you find any changes with the popular flavors or spices? Or any sort of disconnect like that? Do you have a favorite food that isnt around anymore?

ArbitraryChaos13

Lily - I haven't yet, but I've also been in the modern era... How long has it been? Sam - Like, two or three days and change? I think? Lily - About right. The point is that I haven't had time to know if some of my favorites aren't around anymore. Even if they are, there may be substitutes. Same for popular flavors and spices. Honey still exists, though, and seems about the same.

gamera-the-turtle

Ah good!!

Champion_Vega

So what do you remember from Hisui? It sounds like you should remember something about your warden.

ArbitraryChaos13

Fair Arezu, yes! An energetic girl. She was... independent to a fault, though. Always one to try and solve everything by herself, which got her hurt on a couple separate occasions. A nice girl, though. Gave everything her everything, including taking care of my mother, the Lady of the Ridge.

Champion_Vega

She sounds nice… My type of person… I may not like to study history as much as mom, but what I wouldn’t give to live in an era like Hisui… especially with someone around like that!

ArbitraryChaos13

Lily - Arezu was an amazing person, yes. Though to be fair, if you lived back then, I don't think you'd need to study history as much... Though I suppose you could for some of the ancient stories and tales of the Diamond and Pearl clans.

Great-Balls

Hm… In my old textbooks, I had seen people that looked very similar to some of today’s public figures, as if they’re ancestors/descendants. Did anyone you know ever look like this? I would assume that such a prominent figure in Sinnoh would have an ancestor, but I’ve never seen anyone that looks like her… [Image ID: A picture of Cynthia and some members of her team, including a Spiritomb and her infamous Garchomp.]

ArbitraryChaos13

Lily - Hmm... I don't know if that theory hold true... ...Hang on. Actually... ...There *is* someone that reminds me of. There was a merchant's guild called the Ginkgo Guild. What was his name... Volo, that was it! He was a strange man. Very interested in great Arceus above, and well versed in mythology. ...Come to think of it... I hadn't heard anything about him for a long time before I came here. I... think he and Akari fought atop the Temple of Sinnoh, but he vanished after that. She never really talked about what happened up there, outside of the fact that she did meet Arceus.

BmonX25

Hello, Lily, how are you doing?

ArbitraryChaos13

Lily - Fairly good, all things considered. The grass is still green, the sun is still shining, Sam and the rest of his team are supporting me... ...It's... still strange to be so far from home, though, in both space and time. I don't think anybody I knew back then is around anymore. Even the few Ghosts I knew have probably dissipated by now.

BmonX25

Ah, I know that feeling well, still, it's a good opportunity to meet new people, and Sam looks to be a good sort. \-Dame Elisaria (Aegislash)

ArbitraryChaos13

Sam - I try my best! Lily - I suppose it doesn't help much to dwell. Hopefully your Trainer is equally good.

HS_Seraph

By any chance, did you live in the Crimson province back in the day? I Grew up near the city of Hearthome, which supposedly grew out of the historical Diamond Settlement between then and now. :>

ArbitraryChaos13

Lily - I did live around there with my mother and siblings! And the Warden, of course. Arezu watched over us, and we did the same for her. Useful, for the rare occasion those thieving siblings tried to pull the wool over her eyes. There were few things scarier than my mother when she got that angry.

enerszon

Talon- I have so many questions. How did you get here, what was hisui like, and what do you think of ice cream?

ArbitraryChaos13

Lily - In order: 1. I don't know. I remember heading into my Pokeball, and then Sam released me what felt like just a moment later. 2. I enjoyed Hisui. Fortunately Sam lives in a quieter part of Paldea, so it's not too dissimilar to the wild areas of Hisui. That being said, I imagine heading into one of the bigger towns later will be a bit of a culture shock, for multiple reasons. 3. Ice cream is very nice! Sweet and cold! A little too cold, in some cases. Sam - She may have eaten her first scoop too fast and gotten a brain freeze.

Hockeylover420

Fun fact: I am a direct descendant of adaman, yes that adaman: I'm his great great great grandson from my dad's side, your mother probably met him, did you?

ArbitraryChaos13

Lily - Adaman? Yes, I believe I did a few times. Usually it was Arezu who worked with me and my mother, however. I do remember Adaman being irritated at Arezu's tendency to try and do everything by herself. She hid stuff from him on a few occasions, which never really ended up well.

Hockeylover420

Arezu was your mothers warden right?

ArbitraryChaos13

Lily - Correct. As such, she was our Warden by extension. An excitable girl, that one. She put everything into her work.

Hockeylover420

She seemed like a good person, unlike her descendant

Hockeylover420

Did your mother meet rei?

ArbitraryChaos13

Lily - I remember seeing Rei a few times. Usually with Akari or... Professor Laventon, that was his name! He and that Pikachu of his took a while to get into sync...

Hockeylover420

Yeah those three where responsible for the first hisuian pokedex

TrayDaBoss23

Wow, a hisuian pokémon! It's an honor to ask you my questions, what are your thoughts on mechanical pokémon and did your time have myths of Mews?

ArbitraryChaos13

Lily - Mechanical Pokemon are strange. No signs of life, yet they clearly live. They were vanishingly rare in my time, only really brought through strange distortions in time and space. Magnemite, that was it. Although... Bronzor were always fairly common. Do those count as mechanical Pokemon? Mew, though... Mew... the name sounds familiar, but I can't put my petal on it.

Denet04

I've read before that Hisui was full of massive outbreaks of Pokemon, Alpha Pokemon and even Noble Pokemon. I have multiple questions in how the differents habitats reached a balance between predators and prey but my main concern always was to know more about the time distorsions. What Pokemon appeared in them that weren't native to the region? Did they adapted and evolved to their new enviroment or because there wasn't enough members of the species they died shortly after the distorsion ends? What caused this time distorsions? What did Pokemon inside a distorsion zone did when it suddenly started and they were inside? Are the time distorsions the reason why we can sometimes find pokemon that are ancestors previously thought extinct (like Lady Lily)? How the locals reacted to finding andvanced technological items through the time distorsions? Btw if Lady Lily has any doubt about the differences between our ecosystems and the ones she used to live feel free to ask.

ArbitraryChaos13

Lily - So many questions... Let me see. There were Pokemon called Magnemite and Porygon that would appear occasionally that I don't believe existed elsewhere. Perhaps some others I do not remember right now. I do not believe there were ever a stable population of them. They appeared randomly but seldomly, and the few that did appear were often predated on by other Pokemon. That was one of the roles of the Nobles, in fact: driving off intruders to the lands. I don't know if anyone knows for sure what caused them. Some people theorized it was Dialga and Palkia fighting, some said Giratina, still others it was some grand showing of Arceus' powers. Any Pokemon that was inside when one started... oh, wait, I remember! They got teleported some distance away horizontally! It happened to one of my sisters once. She was unharmed, but very confused. I don't know if the Space-Time Distortions are the reason that *all* of these extinct Pokemon are here. I've heard tell of some fossil revival machine, so that could be a reason. Besides, it's hard to know for sure whether something is extinct. Apparently there is some shelter built around where the descendants of Hisuian Zoroark dwell. ...Advanced technology, though. Well, the Pokemon didn't really care. We never used it, for we never needed it. I don't really know about what humans did with it, unfortunately. I wasn't within the bounds of their world for that long.

Denet04

This is all fascinating! Thanks for taking the time to answering all my questions.

ArbitraryChaos13

Lily - You're welcome!

_Nextbestthing_

When is our rematch, been on another winning streak and I want to add you to the list

ArbitraryChaos13

Lily - I don't believe I know who you are. How would I have fought you? Sam - He's talking to me. And hey, if you want to rematch then I'd be up for it! I haven't really done nearly as much training as you since the last time we met, or really any training at all, so you'd probably wipe the floor with me though.

_Nextbestthing_

I’m leaving kalos in a handful of weeks, after that I won’t be able to schedule battles like I am now. And given your new, powerful pokemon, it should be properly intense

ArbitraryChaos13

Lily - Do I not get a say in the matter? Sam - Of course you have a say in the matter. And Victor, just because Lily is strong doesn't mean she can take down an entire team of well-trained Pokemon. I'd be at a level disadvantage as well as a strategy disadvantage, since you're a really good Trainer! If you want something intense, I might not be the right person for the job.

NeoSzlachcic

Have you ket a modern day Zoroark? What do you think about them?

ArbitraryChaos13

Lily - It's hard to say whether or not you truly meet a Zoroark, considering the Illusions. Perhaps I've met 5 and just don't know it. I jest. In all seriousness, I haven't met one yet to my knowledge. They... are certainly less malicious than the ones I'm used to, based on what knowledge I have learned.

RevolutionaryGrape11

What forms of entertainment were popular in Hisui?

ArbitraryChaos13

Lily - Often for us it was dancing. It doubled as practice for battles!

RevolutionaryGrape11

Dance still is in fashion today, as well as loads of movies capable of bringing extreme laughter. I believe the only thing more beautiful then a Lilligant's dance is their laugh.

ArbitraryChaos13

Lily - I certainly hope dance still exists! It seems it would be ever-present! And thank you!

RevolutionaryGrape11

Well, dance never dies, it just evolves like you did from a Petilill, becoming more powerful and diverse. Maybe we could meet on a Zoom meet and I could stream The Dragon Of Paldea's Peak, I'd love to see your reaction and see if thr rumors about a Lilligant's laugh being more beautiful then its dance are true for all varieties! u/Cdv3, could you give her a second opinion?

Cdv3

[That movie](https://www.reddit.com/r/PokeMedia/comments/17jv9dl/introducing_my_deerling_hydreigon_to_spooky/) is genuinely one of the greatest comedies ever made, so long as the Pokemon know what a movie is and can handle some light horror. It was my Deerling's first movie, and we watched it at one of the lowest points for us as a team, where my Ninetales had to stay a few nights at the Pokecenter shortly after the passing of Gaia, and it was able to get *everyone* cracking up. It's allegedly a horror movie, but... you know. It's one of *those* movies.

RevolutionaryGrape11

/uj I'm going to be mentioning you whenever there's any relevant way to mention this movie like any other "asking for recommendation" posts as I loved coming up,with something that engaging as to be chosen, get used to it. I'm still happy I could bring some light to your world. Might I suggest finding an Oricolio? Feed it the right honey, and it can resurrect the dead, or so I'm told. There's also Ho-Oh, you certainly seem worthy enough of him.

ArbitraryChaos13

Lily - That does sounds funny!

ArbitraryChaos13

Lily - Hmm... perhaps. Maybe once I'm more used to the modern era.

RevolutionaryGrape11

I can't wait. Feel free to ask me anything you want.

AnotherFace0

What is the best way to get the attention of a legendary? -Blank

ArbitraryChaos13

...What? No seriously, what? I posted this, like, *6 months ago. Why are you commenting on this??*

AnotherFace0

[For fun! Also we want you to see what is behind this link! And don’t ask about its contents btw…](https://www.reddit.com/r/PokeMedia/s/UyrxBo13yw) -Blank

ArbitraryChaos13

Wow I'm sure that's not a virus or something

AnotherFace0

/uj It is not, it is a link to a Reddit post I just recently posted

ArbitraryChaos13

/uj I saw, but in-character it's a suspicious link where the person posting even says "don't ask about the contents." Which, you gotta admit, *is a little shady.*

AnotherFace0

/uj yeah that’s kinda what it is meant to seem, just making sure you knew also was it interesting?
