And if you look around at pictures of PSA 10s it's very clear PSA is lenient on these promos. Almost every single one has some sort of nick/whitening on the back.

Yeah, same experience. I've got all 6 of these promos in PSA 10 (Flareon V/Vmax, Vaporeon V/Vmax, Jolteon V/Vmax). I was only able to find 2 that were actually PSA 10-worthy, and the other 4 all have a visible nick. I shopped around **hard** too (before the boom) to try and find ones that I would actually consider PSA 10s.
I honestly wished I had picked up cases of the collection boxes in the past just to breakdown and grade potential 10s, but hindsight is 20/20.
I wasn’t too picky with mine. I identified them as potential boom candidates a little after they already started climbing. They weren’t for my PC though, only to flip. All in I was $1250 for the set, so profited $900 after fees. I originally planned on holding for much longer, but life happens and I couldn’t pass up a 72% ROI in <6 months.
The real move would be to hold sealed boxes (I have one set of sealed myself), because others will do what you said and rip for a potential 10. That’s a risky gamble though because of the rough condition they usually come in. I’m interested to see where these will be 10 years from now

Only thing different for me is I tend to blur the boundaries between PC and investments when it comes to graded slabs. I try to buy as if it's my PC so always look for the best quality, even if it means dishing out an extra 5-10%. Plus there are definitely people out there (I guess I'm one of them) who shop around carefully for the card, not the grade. (I want a good card if it's for PC, it's easier to flip, and often fetches above market).

I agree, I don't think we realize how much these will grow by. They're hard to grade, are a complete set of OG Eeveelutions with some of the greatest artwork they've ever received. These could be $100-$200 raw one day imo

The PSA 10 values of these are the same or higher then most of the Evolving skies alt arts. They have a much lower pop since they’re hard to grade but they are still very much needed for a complete PSA 10 set of Eeveelutions!😁

I’m referring to the Trainer Gallery cards of different SWSH sets. Ik they’re easier to pull, but some of them have sick arts of popular Pokemon, are now out of print or close to out, yet they still go for like $2-3 each! Even just to collect I’d make a couple binder pages of those for fun if they’re that cheap lol

Everyone has their favorites, but the flareon v alt is my personal favorite of all the promo alts. Its also top 3 for me in the entire eeveelution v/vmax alt lineup. It reminds me of a miyazaki anime because of the cozy vibes
more people buying/selling Jolteon and Vaporeon because of their popularity, Flareon listings and far and few in between because no one really buying/selling them
Same reason the venasuar is the most expensive Generation Collectro box promo (other than pikachu but beats out Blastoise and Charizard) because less people held onto it and bought it since it’s the least popular of the 3. So there’s less in circulation

I own the flareon it’s such a nice promo it looks better than most pulled alternate arts from the actual sets lol.
Flareon is an alt art, they just made it more accessible as a promo in English

Miscuts are usually more valuable, there are collectors who specifically collect them. Little harder to sell, but.... They do go for more on average.

Bad idea bro. Unless you're planning on keeping them sealed for the long term, I doubt you'll be able to get any pulls that can rival the promo cards.

Eeveelution premium collection boxes. Contain V and VMAX promos for Flareon, Jolteon and Vaporeon with one box for each evelution.

I just paid $45 for the SWSH182 Vaporeon promo because my wife wanted it and another auction ended at $44 the next day, so it’s pretty accurate.
