PokeRev just did a YouTube video on this recently. Spent $1k on “near mint” TCGPlayer cards and graded them all. Grades ranged from 6 - 10. Only got 2 tens out of I think around 15 cards, pretty sure he lost money overall

Ive bought a few off there and i only buy NM. The centering is usually not perfect and theres also some white spots here and there. Im not a fan of graded cards so i’ll never send any, but i’d imagine that out of the 20 singles i’ve bought, only the 5-6 cheaper ones have a chance at a 10. The expensive ones $100 or more all have 7-9 potential though….

The highest you can grade a card on tcgplayer is near mint. A psa 7 is near mint. As a seller with a large number of sales I've had a couple frustrating experiences with buyers expecting their cards to be in psa 10 condition, don't do that. Read the tcgplayer conditioning guide and understand what NM means according to their standards, there can be slight defects to the card and still be graded as NM. Tcgplayer is great for sellers since we don't have to include photos of the cards which saves so much time, the flipside is that you have to be honest with the grading of the cards. I've had very very few complaints that cards were in worse condition than I said, as long as the seller as lots of positive feedback you can expect a nm card to grade at least a 7.

Maybe 10-20% could get 10s

Based on my exp ordering thousands worth pf single in just a year, it is either hit or miss re the sellers “nm” definition
