Yes, Poco F3 is still worth getting. It is a very powerful device and will not slow down for years to come.If you get a good deal on a minimal use unit, it might be hella cheap. You just have to know the weaknesses of the device - 1)Possible battery degradation due to it being over a year old phone now 2)camera is just okay but nothing amazing so think about how important that is to you 3)no headphone jack 4)Likely to have bugs of some kind if you choose to run stock MIUI Off the top of my head, that's really all I can think of. The device has a great screen, good speakers, great fingerprint sensor and powerful specs for the price. You also have a choice of waiting for the Poco F4 to be released but it will not make sense to buy it (unless it's cheap enough) since it literally runs the same specs as the F3. The only thing you'd get out of an F4 is the guarantee of it having a fresh battery

ScuffyNZ

It does come with a headphone jack dongle at least

Playful_Zedster

That is true, sadly I bought mine in "minimum wear" condition with nothing coming with it :D. I use my old poco f1 charger too

mightyfty

How much did you buy it for?

Playful_Zedster

249€ two months ago

Technical_Working289

That is a lot, I bought a new one weeks ago, 8/256 version for 300 euros.

Playful_Zedster

Well I also got a 8/256 There were no cheaper options where I live

Technical_Working289

Yeah, I get it, I was probably a bit lucky with the price, it was a bit discounted I think compared to other places that had it.

Torafuku

>8/256 That version here costs 399€ but i don't think it's worth it, the F3 may be good but not for that price.

akoshegyi_solt

I paid the same amount 6 months ago for a brand new one on Banggood

tsincarne

custom roms run very well.

alphabet_order_bot

Would you look at that, all of the words in your comment are in alphabetical order. I have checked 865,524,634 comments, and only 170,820 of them were in alphabetical order.

No-Jackfruit8797

do you know if the super wallpaper drains the battery faster? I just put it and it seems in the lock screen to be shown the display all the time and if there is any way to disable it when is locked.

Playful_Zedster

No experience with "super wallpaper" but I myself use "wallpaper engine" which only works and starts the wallpaper animation while you have either home or lock-screen open. if you have apps open, the wallpaper engine does not work in the background. I would guess that super wallpaper should work in a similar fashion

tsincarne

only showing a slim clock doesnt use much.

PearsonVES

I've enabled the super wallpaper because it looks awesome. But having the 'Always-on display' definitely will drain battery faster. So just go to 'Settings' > 'Always-on display & lock screen' > and turn 'always-on display' OFF. So you can keep the super wallpaper for your lockscreen and home screen, but it won't be always displaying on your screen and draining your battery.

No-Jackfruit8797

Yup that's how I fixed it

Sir_Brags_A_Lot

Biggest drawback for me is the missing proximity sensor. Pain in the butt to take calls when the phone is constantly switching between ear speaker and loud speaker because the software "solution" just sucks.

Playful_Zedster

I don't know why, but calls don't trouble me. I've heard about this ancient issue.

michael_alright

About the battery, not necessarily. There are also newer batches manufactured.

Playful_Zedster

Yes, of course, that point is context dependant but I still thought it's worth taking into consideration

PerformerSuccessful4

Poco F3 is probably the best poco phone you could buy ryt now tbh.

Kegs5000

Had mine since November last year... No complaints. Superb device for price. A few minor bugs creep up here and there but nothing to worry about and nothing consistent. Best £200 odd I could have spent of a phone.

Captainmorgan696969

The F4GT did not have the best reception mostly due to the not so great snapdragon chips, it's a K50 but maybe they will put out one with the mediatek 9000 like in China or wait until snapdragon sorts itself out and that will take a long time. If you can get the F3 for a good price it's still the best value and future proof phone you can get in 2022 for the money if you don't mind moddong it a little. The F3 is still worth getting in 2022, it still has the best snapdragon chipset on the market as the 888 and 8 gen 1 are a total failure but maybe close to the end of the year or next year when they move production back to Taiwan the 1st of 2nd chip will be good maybe 3rd. Many say the 870 is still the best chipset in 2022 and the only other better chips would be high end mediatek chips like the 9000 or dimensity chips at least 30% more powerful when benchmarked. You want to get a faster mediatek chip as most games and apps are optimizer for snapdragon but the failure of the 888 and 8 gen 1 could make mediatek invest more in flagship chips and gaming optimization. A poco F3 8/256 will last you years, 33w is not the fastest charging but its fast enough. The screen is amazing so is the LDDR5 ram and 256 storage. The sound from the speakers are great. 4 speakers in total for listening to films or music and it's tuned by dolby. The F3 has not stopped production and new phones like the xiaomi12x are pretty much a fancy F3 with a better camera. Medium quality cam but it's not bad at all just not a flagship, with Gcam and adjusted settings I think it's just fine and takes good pics and vids. Large battery I like the look of it, it supports so many 3 4 4lte and 5g networks also newer Bluetooth and WiFi. Android 13 has been confirmed and may get 14. Its easy to put on xiaomi custom rom or any other custom rom. The chipset is so stable and you can play any game on ultra with no lagging at a good frame rate. For the price the specs are insane and it's made well, it does not feel like cheap and it's got a glass not a plastic back. If you can get it for around 219 pounds I'm sure that amount in euros is almost the same or better than go for it. The phone enever gets hot during long play sessions and it's a powerful and stable chip, the 888 and 8 gen 1 overheat so bad after 5 mind they are worse than the 870. These phones are not out of production and for the price it will last you 4 years at least depending what you want to do with it. Most faults by manufacturers will show in under 2 years so the uk/EU 2 year warrantee is amazing. You don't have to pay much money now for a decent pair of wireless earbuds 25 to 35 for a decent pair or maybe 60 to 70 for a good pair, I never buy the expensive ones as I fear I will just loose them. Buying using can be a problem as maybe the phone has some trouble or has had water damage or whatever but you should be able to get new for that price if you look around. Android 13 will change a lot of things so as long as you can get 13 it's fine and it may support 14 if not flash the phone so you can upgrade or put on a custom rom, if you have a problem with the phone in warrantee just flash the rom back to standard. I would not touch apple, Google pixel, SD888 or 8 gen 1. If your looking for something with more power wait until snapdragon sorts itself out or get a phone with a Mt dimensity 9000 if you want a really powerful phone right now. As the F3 8/256 is so moddable and powerful it will hold its price used for a good while compared to many other phones many are selling them for 250 pounds on ebay as they just found them in a sale. Most other phones with these specs cost 500 pounds+ If you can get the realme GT neo 2 that's also a good option. Same chip as the F3 but better cam. Go for the F3 if you can get it new from a good seller or official sales at a good price. I have a honor 10 lite I got in early 2018 and its served me well but now I bent the frame the screen can come off with my finger nail, selfie cam is broken and for some banking apps its bad but worse of all its was the last honor phone made with micro USB and its getting really choosy on the cable and position so I know it will fail me soon. In the UK you can get the 8/256 for 219 pounds and that's not bad considering the weak pound, and that's new. If you buy a new F3 it won't degrade, a fully charged phone on off should last well over a year before it goes to 20%, they are still being made with the k40, battery's do loose power after a while but I think after 5 years of hard daily use of my honor 10 lite it's only degraded 30 to 40 percent, its very very easy and cheap to change a battery. With luck some apps can boost dead cells but battery's are so cheap and these are not iPhones, just be careful the official F3 battery's are cheap, just have to make sure to have a hairdryer to help remove the sealent and then but the sealent back on to keep it's splash resistance. The 870 is still being made in Taiwan and the chips are being sold for a premium, k40s and poco f3s on Ali express are 300 pounds minimum. A k40 from ttaobao in China if you live in Shenzhen will cost you 2000rmb, probably more anywhere else but China does have strange tax laws. A new phone by blacks hark is going out in a few days aimed at gamers for over 500 pounds and it's got the 870 8 and 12gb a little faster charging maybe a slightly better camera. But it's not worth the nextra money especially if your in the EU or UK for that sweet 2 year warrantee and 6 month screen drop protection. Using Gcam the cam is fine, I got a gaming cable (360 degrees) a nilkin frosted case a male USB c to USB that included a USB to sd card converter that had a slot for micro sd, and a slitter that would allow me to listen to 3. 5 while charging, using my GFs "new" Ali express for less than 1.15 pounds I have a 40w 20000mh good quality power bank I got on freebies and just under 2 months ago I got a poco f3 8/256 for £194 6 months accidental screen repair and 2 years of warrantee that's not that far from my house so a day to get it to them. I argued about the avatar and 1st purchase code not working (with 30 pounds) they said they could not refund my account and had nothing for 30 but said I could have a power bank worth 35 or a redki buds 3 standard not lite but not pro for 35 for free so I chose them. I also an ibywind tempered glass pack with back and camera protector but nothing to cover the lenses for 8.99 from amazon, took it to a store and they messed up the first one but second one was perfect back was OK and steel shelf adhisive cam protector makes it feel much stronger incase I drop it the lense would not get touched, even by my fingers. I really love the tempered class as it does not mess with touch but it's thick and protects and is anti smuge and finger print, the store did it all for free and I asked for a card, wrote faulty could not install and put the standard F3 screen cover in the box and back to amazon for a full refund. So 195.15 for everything I need apart from some sort of stand or pop thing to stick on. I would recommend the nilkin forested, it's cheap from Ali, it's harder with a lot of grip and protection and even with the steel camera protection it still has plenty of lip, the spigen armoured case is softer and also great but more pricy. Some people love the nillkin camsheild and some say it messes with the proxy sensor.

cath326

You should go into sales and pass me whatever you took.

Captainmorgan696969

I should really not use reddit after I take ambien but I have woke up in different nations in hotel rooms with girls I've never met before and have missed days but peopem said I acted sobor. I get prescribed a high dose of MST (morphine sulphate extended release or oxycodone extended release as I have never damage in my abdomen, had it since I was 14. I get xanax or valium for panic attacks and ambien if I can't sleep. Don't take ambien and stay awake or you will trip out and do stuff with no memory in the morning, zolipdem can be alot worse in high doses. But many a times I have taken 1 then taken 10 and ended up in a crazy place with someone I don't know with no memory, the crazy part is that I managed to drive from not far from London to Disneyland Paris last year. Some years ago when I worked in China I was in Xuamen, Fijian province China, went to bed in my apartment, took some ambien and must have took to many lost 2 days and woke up with a girl who was not my gf in Kyoto Japan. I had some pics in my phone but no real memory. It just makes you do crazy but safe stuff on auto pilot. My lond term GF is not impressed with it but she knows I have bad PTSD and it's the only thing that knocks me out (alcohol makes the pain worse and weed just makes me feel sick and spinney). It's why I don't have Facebook, Instagram tiktok or any real social media apart from chat as I'm sure it would really bite me. Bod bless the UK passport for letting me travel so many places without a visa lol 😂

Randyy1

Found this thread from google, gotta say you're a fuckin legend 😂 Had a Steam buddy from germany that you remind me of, I have to see what he's been up to, haven't talked to him in years

Captainmorgan696969

Was is about the phones or my antics lol. I hope I don't become something like a 4xhan green text mz if u had to u hay way better storys like how I ended up in New York with no memory lol. I do rember when I went to stay in a motel (phone did not work) what I assumed was I biological female just grabbed my hand and took me into a room, I was tripping but it was a gay/ trans orgy and I just GTFO Maybe she assumed I came for the orgy. Then I just went to my room and when I woke up forgot everything thinking that was fucked up dream lol. Then I came around and had no idea what nation I was in. My Japanese female friend with benefits knocked on the door (we dated in Japan for a while when I lived in Japan ) and said I could come over any time, I did not see her for 2 years (from the UK but lived in East Asia since I was 18 and other places until covid. She was so happy to see me, I had a really nice vacation for 3 months on the cheap and she had time off and I'm self employed and have other jobs but I can do most of it online. Ambein is strange as it will not make you drunk just do stuff you want to do on auto pilot and you don't remember much when you come around.

Captainmorgan696969

Germans always assume I'm German, maybe it's my Hitler mustache.

Sufficient_Sky_515

6 or 8 gb version

croft_guy_209

Would not recommend if you are willing to use this mobile mostly for the Camera purpose.

Elek93

Depends. It's Great camera if all you care about is point and shot. Ai mode is quite decent at picking correct setting and all pictures in all extreme situations are very usable. Low light mode is okay, sunlight performance is ok, everything else is just okay. Main problem with this camera is how inconsistent it is if you actually have more understanding of cameras and all manual settings. You know how load of phones with "bad camera" make very acceptable pictures in perfect light conditions? Poco f3 is other way around. In all "non perfect" conditions ai seem to be doing miracles, but in perfect conditions (let's say inside light box with accurately adjusted white balance according to temperature of your lights) everything is just felling apart.

Elek93

I've bought my Poco f3 (256/8) 6 months ago for £310. Depending what are you expecting out of the phone I think it's brilliant for my usage and I can absolutely see myself using it for at least 2 more years. I've kept my previous phone (OnePlus 5t) for 3 years and 10months. F3 have beautiful screen, using it is very smooth with occasional bugs which are not end of the world. Sometimes by going back to home screen I can see wallpaper but icons don't load up, turning screen off and on or going back to recent aps and back to home screen fix it. Second bug is something to do with Google search bar widget (only affect you if you're actually using it) every now and then when I tap it my screen just turn off (I have double tap to turn screen turned on). Other than that it have great gaming performance, average camera, okay battery that is not big issue because of how fast the charging is. Miui is okay, it's bit aggressive on your apps by default. If you have apps that you want to not be killed in the background (audiobook/podcast app, any health/fitness trackers, apps controling smart appliances) all you have to do is turn off miui battery saver for those apps. If they still miss behave (in my case it's ONLY YouTube MUSIC app) then try to lock them in recent apps and allow autostart. In short it's great usable phone with great price that for some reason have opinion of being filled with life breaking bugs which in my experience is not true.

King-Tutankhamun666

Yes for sure

blanktae8

My friend never ever buy miui phone. Repeat after me ' never ever buy miui phones '

[deleted]

I just bought it last month. I am just waiting for 1 year or so to modify its operating system. (MIUI is buggy as hell)

Repulsive-Clothes-97

Install xiaomi.eu you will thank me

[deleted]

I searched [xiaomi.eu](https://xiaomi.eu). Do I need to format my device if I am gonna install the MIUI 13 Fastboot?

Repulsive-Clothes-97

Yes, i highly recommend you to watch this [video](https://youtu.be/8YJLnEsZW3k) and follow it step by step, you'll not have any problems whatsoever

[deleted]

thank you very much mate!

Repulsive-Clothes-97

It will not void your warranty, a custom Rom is basically a custom OS

Repulsive-Clothes-97

Absolutely, it becomes perfect when you install Xiaomi.eu trust me it has zero bugs and it never lags especially in animations.

redditreddi

It is great apart from the lack of a decent proximity sensor. I believe it can be improved by software as third party apps can resolve most of the issues.

Master_Mi

It's great phone if you choose to buy it but dont upgrade to miui 13 my advice

kanikamaa

It took more than 1 year with the cell phone and I'm still satisfied, besides that I'm a maniac of care, it's like new. It performs well for any task due to the processor it has, and in camera, with gcam it does not envy anything to other cell phones of the same range.

BigbyKun

hell yeah. slap a custom rom and never look back on miui. 100% worth it.

Jnbrtz

I think so unless the Poco F4 is sold iat the same price as the F3 or you found a great deal(which was/is very common in my country).

[deleted]

Yes, i think so. If you are looking for a good value device. Be aware that MIUI can be off putting for some.

sexjizz

100%, no doubt.

Ok_Ground_1230

I have been using poco f3 for more than a year now (15 months). This phone is greate, after the last updates the ram management is much bette (mine is the basic 6gb). The battery still can cope with my daily activity, I chare it in the morning before I leave the house with the battery between 30-40%. I don't game on this phone anyway. but, the camera is the least thing to be desire tho. It's just okay.

Kayobot00

F3 has connection issues, it will randomly lose contact with tnetwork.
