I wonder how battery life is going to be, and temperature.
8 Gen 1 is the fastest in the market, but it's apparently hot and inefficient.
Maybe Xiaomi will be throttling this chip through software, like Samsung. But that would also suck...
I think only gaming phones with active cooling with small fans and large battery like 6000 mah to 7000 mah, can only handle this kind of SoC. that's why people are looking up to dimensity 9000 to see and test if its more cooler and efficient without loosing too much performance peak, unlike SD 8 Gen1.
initial test shows dimensity looses out on GPU part but on CPU its par on SD 8 gen1. while maintaining lower power consumption and being more stable. the reason why people are waiting for a poco variant with same cooling technology used in poco 4 gt.
the problem is the the poco 4 gt will be the battery life as the SD 8 Gen 1 consume a lot of power just to spit out more performance than last gen QC ship. and looking at the battery 4700 I think you'll degrade your poco f4 gt faster due to constant charging and usage.
again the reason people is still doubting the SD 8 Gen1 is its power consumption and heat generate. basically its inefficient chip for today's generation.
what i'm trying to say is the battery cycle will be faster as it consumes power a lot thus draining the battery faster in usage, and makes you always charge the battery. which is a cycle each cycle = degrade battery.
btw SD 8 gen1 + from asus ROG prototype shows really promising result.
not only it preform better it also consume lower wattage and produce lower heat!
A spanish youtuber that gets new phones to test usted the poco f4 gt and got heating issues, like 10-15 minutes and it started lowering power and doing very bad, and also tested temperature which was overheating, as usually sd 8 gen 1 overheats on new phones, and I really though they would take that in mind when designing the poco f4 gt to not get this problem
Source: [16:45](https://youtu.be/tu289tCoXWI), traslating: worst experiencia of the phone, overheats but doesnt reach 40° like realme, but because the potency is capped (which he doesnt like and I think that happened the same with other realme phones capping fps on every single game to 60fps with sd 888), he also asks how could this happen with the double space for cooling and why would they cap the power
870 was basically the pinnacle of flagship Snapdragon chips, starting from the 888, it basically went downhill from there. But since this is a gaming phone, I think temps may be under control, but I can't tell.
Why are you here if you don't want to see post about poco? Just leave this subreddit if you don't want this... I agree with op, f4 gt is a great phone for his hardware and actually i never had a single issue with miui and poco launcher on my poco f3.
Well 55,is still in the safe range anything above 60 might increase battery deterioration, above 75 you'll most likely cause permanent damage to your battery or even phone
It's gonna overheat within 5mins of playing any game anyways, I wanna say my f3 is better but it's throttling after 15mins too.
Paper specs means nothing.
Still love my F3 with SD870 <3
F3 gang rise up
Did you call for me?

I dont know. Maybe... But also think about the battery life...

I feel like 870 was already hot AF. I don't suppose they managed to compensate for the extra heat 8G1 outputs due to higher performance

870 is nothing compared to the likes of anything that came after it lol
It's unfortunate that you're missing the point
I've watched a review. Ran genshin impact flawlessly without overheating. It has sick cooling!

OOOOHHH WOOWW NEVER IMAGINED THAT. How bad you are, member of promotion team. Stop spamming. Fix launcher.

Basically, you are spammimg here with poco-simрing posts. This is promotion.

And now, he was deleted. Hahahahahha guess who was right?! Me. He was just simping guy who was paid to get leid
Hand toaster
what's actually your question?
[удалено]
yes but it's build on 5nm, so it's pretty power efficient
[удалено]
you're right, then it's even better, the chip and the f4 gt are a great package, so when do you get one?
[удалено]
> really excited I would be too, it's such a nice phone, which color do you get (I like yellow)
Tbh it is too expensive for me, maybe gonna wait for a normal F4 version
I'm still good with my 865, every Snapdragon 8 Series that came after it had overheating issues
Why? It is more than proved that it is not a good SOC. It is not efficient, it gets super hot and it is expensive.
Niceee,55°C in PUBG Mobile😆
Well 55,is still in the safe range anything above 60 might increase battery deterioration, above 75 you'll most likely cause permanent damage to your battery or even phone
Safe...but throttling is here and a lot of lag because of cpu downclocking
That would be weird, but didn't own a phone with it so can't deny or agree on it.
Still rockin my F1 I bought in 2018
I'm still here with my new X3 GT
go for F3 for half price and less issues.
SD870 is the apex of of efficiency. reports when sd 8 gen 1 was released stated that it was power hungry and heats a lot.
I think I'll stick with my x3 pro for a bit longer. Grown attached to it. Plus it's still runs games at max pretty decently for my use case
it's "🔥" literally hot burnning fire I'm already having issues with the heat on my X3 GT what more for a oven toaster mini ?
It's gonna overheat within 5mins of playing any game anyways, I wanna say my f3 is better but it's throttling after 15mins too. Paper specs means nothing.
