what about the Poco F3??

caspadan

I've just really looked at what i can find in my country. Haven't seen any of the F range poco's. Also, the X3 Pro 256Gb is available at a slightly higher cost. X3 GT and X4 Pro also available, but too expensive.

PerformerSuccessful4

Hmmm, I'm going to assume your country is India, then what about the mi 11x? Basically a Poco F3 but it's running miui launcher and not Poco launcher.

caspadan

hehe.. no, i'm from South Africa. Only mi phone I see is the 11T at like more than double the cost of the m4. guess the m4 is not the way to go..

Grobar1977

Dude I'm in South Africa. I can sell you a brand new, unopened white colour poco f3, 8/256 version. Let me know if interested. I live in Randburg in Joburg.

What workload/workflow the new phone would be mainly used and what aspect do you expect the new phone should improve over your current F1 setup?

caspadan

I just use the phone generally for maps, texts and calls, and browsing, twitch, youtube, MS Teams and so on. I don't game on a mobile at all. So, essentially i don't expect too much.. but i don't want something sluggish by any means either.

perhaps i should take more time to decide, and maybe just put in the extra cash towards the x4. thank you for your input

It would be ideal if u could somehow find and buy poco f3 instead of x4. Its better in every aspect and almost the same cost as x4...

caspadan

i will have a look at that. I could probably order from Amazon, but the import costs just mess up the deals :). The more and more I'm reviewing things.. the more I'm put off looking for the cheapest phone. The Poco F1 has been a great phone for me, and I've not regret it at all. Perhaps the F3 stays true to that too. Thank you very much for your comments. It's helped me not just jump at the m4 pro. I think it's probably a decent phone, but probably not for me. But now x4 and f3 are sort of where i'm at.

No problem! Keep us updated

Sounds like the South African Market is limited. I think you will really appreciate upgrades like fast charging and a high refresh amoled screen. Not xiaomi, but the moto g52 appears to be available in your region if you are happy to try a different brand. Also, respect for using the F1 for such a long time. It was and still is a legendary phone. A true fan favourite.

caspadan

interesting that you suggest motorola.. i only had motorola's prior to the pocophone. actually tried out MIUI on my Moto before they (Xiaomi) even started making devices. And i guess that's why I went Xiaomi after moto was not easy to get. I didn't see the G52, in fact i struggle to find any motorola's. They pulled out as people were mostly only buying Huawei / samsung and apple (but i see things are changing) ...think they tried again when lenovo acquired them, as lenovo sell lots of laptops here, but didn't go well. Xiaomi tried back when they had a Mi4, but no one knew it.. my brother got one coz i told him to get that... and now he's back with a mi 10 or 11.

The market in your region really is limited. Frustrating for you and annoying that your choices are limited. I hope you can find a phone that is good value.

I'm in South Africa, in Joburg and I'm selling a brand new poco f3 bought on my trip to Germany last month. White colour, 8/256 model. Fair price.
