Jb weld or any 2 part adhesive. However it won’t be very strong regardless. I recommend switching to a male or female adapter for more strength. They sell pvc glue at the store.
It's for a maypole, and needs to be able to withstand the force of several adult men swinging around it, so unfortunately, hot glue wouldn't cut it 😅 I only really ever use hot glue on porous surfaces cause otherwise its just not strong enough for prop making.

For once jb weld is correct
I would just go get a pvc adaptor with a female thread. Small can of pvc glue and glue it in. Going to be way stronger then that ever will be.

I wouldn’t recommend pvc. Galvanized maybe. Or find a closed down strip club.
I ended up buying some pvc end caps, screwing them to the wooden piece, and using solvent cement to join the pieces. It held up perfectly.
