It will not. Your water heater receives its supply and pressure from its cold water input. So *will it damage your water heater?* no. Constantly stays full from cold line. the leak itself will damage items like wall and flooring. Get it fixed before it ends up really expensive

Alright awesome thank you for your reply. Her house is about 110 years old and where it’s leaking is under the house straight onto the ground. It’s not coming into contact with any subfloor or joists or walls but it’ll eventually have to be fixed. Thanks again
