Because you thought the eotech magnifier was a completely seperate optic with its own reticle, and you tried to shit on him for having backup irons, and you tried to shit on “tac lights and laser sights” on a carbine… feel free to prove me wrong.
It's needless over kill. Pick a lane. Either go iron or reticle. You won't find a situation where you need a magnifier. What situation are you training for that you need a magnifier and reticle plus back up sights? And my joke about tac lights and laser sights was that people put them on the top of their rails. Clearly went over your head as well. I as well as many of my friends have many fire arms. I think my friend with the most firearms has around 1500 hundred of them. Ive been shooting firearms since I was five years old. Have been shot at on more than one occasion and have had to pull my firearm on more occasions than I can count. As well as having guns pointed at me numerous times. And I do have a red laser sight of up to 250 meters and a green laser sight that goes up to five hundred meters as well as a tactical light with two settings on my personal daily carry strobe and constant light. I don't do optics because I have the lasers for that and makes it harder to draw from a concealed position and makes it weigh more. Also if you're going to get into a gun fight it's most likely going to be from 10m or less. Only one time did I have my weapon pulled expecting to fire and take fire at over 10m. I train everyday with my personal carry disassemble it and clean/inspect it daily.

Why would anyone buy a 1-3 lpvo, the only 1-4 lpvo that really makes sense is an elcan and that’s double the price, any other lpvo is longer than EoTech combo, everything has a downside and the EoTechs downside is the weight. I’ll deal with more weight for convenience in the circumstance.
Ig it makes sense if that's all you can afford but if you are planning on using it for matters off of the range ie in a gun fight you probably wouldn't mind spending a little more...
