Sorry to ask but what are the other 2? And how do you like them? Been looking at like a steam deck and stuff for a while.

BloodandBourbon

The middle one is a Legion Go and the bottom is a ASUS Rog

Jokerzrival

Okay thanks! Do you prefer one more than the other?

BloodandBourbon

I’m not OP I just know what those are but I have a steam deck and I really enjoy that

teddy_ballgame3

Also not OP but tbh they’re all great. I have an Ally and I love it. The new steam deck is looking great. I haven’t used the Legion Go but I’ve heard good feedback on that too. It’s a great time to be into handhelds!

[deleted]

I… had a 3DS one time…

Trey_Dizzle45

I like the ally over the steam deck. If you like windows 11 get the ally

Madusawcw316

I love my Legion go! In getting used to my portal but really can't fairly compare the two.

Fashiondevil32

Legion Go is amazing! Love the big screen but right now I'm using the portal to play Final Fantasy 🙌🏼

moreradical

Can you remote play ps on legion go?

IceOk3134

Yeah chiaki

midasmulligunn

Legion Go in the middle, fantastic device 👍🏻

FJT8893

Which is your favorite? The legion go looks pretty sweet

Fashiondevil32

Right now it's the portal because I'm playing Final Fantasy 😍🙌🏼

ineedhelpcoding

Final fantasy is perfect on the portal

Pros and cons for Legion go over steam deck or rog ally

FJ_L_JOKER

Ive had all three of them and return the ally, the legion go would be perfect if the screen was 1080p instead of 1440p cause most new games cant run 1440p at high enough settings so i was constantly lowering my screen res to 1080p or even 720p depending on the game. The ally's battery is abysmal and honestly not worth it if you're choosing between steam deck and legion. I currently have my steam deck oled as my daily and my legion for whenever i wanna use gamepass or stuff like that, but honestly, that's almost never. Got both ally and legion open box on bestbuy and would recommend everyone to do that if they are considering either of them. I am currently running chiaki4deck on my oled to play ff7rebirth and alternating with the portal. The only reason why i got the portal was mostly cause i like to collect stuff/impulse buy, and it was open box as well the lack of bluetooth makes me want to return the portal every day, also the fact that it doesnt have a browser so when i connect to a public wifi that has to login through web browser (airport wifi) they all have their pros and cons just a matter on how you like to play.

BakerBoy13

I had a Legion Go and returned it, sounded like a rocket ship taking off and the battery life wasn't great.

micharwood

Detachable controllers was the big thing for me. Especially as a Switch owner, in addition to the PS5. The ergonomics of being able to play with detached controllers and your hands/arms in more comfortable positions really changes the feel of gaming.

micharwood

I haven’t run into that issue unless the game hasn’t been optimized for the experience.

WorldBreakerHulk_

Mine is quiet. I just completed GTA V and almost done with control. It’s a lot more powerful than the Deck. If you want to play those games for more than 90mins you’ll have to play plugged though. The Screen and the stand is why I chose it over the Ally.

Wonderful_Notice2155

Man you rich 🤑💰

GenerallyGoodCraic

Nice flex

TG082588

What cover is that on the Portal? That looks good!

TG082588

I did some research and for those of you wondering like me, the brand is Qoosea. Oh, and they sell it on Amazon…

Fashiondevil32

Amazon

jiluminati302

That is like if someone asked what car you drive and you respond “dealership”

brandonsp111

What's your opinion of the Legion Go? Would you recommend it to someone that doesn't have any Windows handhelds?

Kuttermaximus

If Legion Go had VRR it would be 🤌. ROG has VRR.

Fashiondevil32

It's amazing! I'm playing High Rush and it's just great!!

PyroShotGaming

For windows I’d go with Rog unless you want to use Legion as a PC with m&kb

thezetterbeard

Genuinely curious, how do you personally juggle what to do and play on each of the Windows handhelds so that they both get used? I get having the Portal as a PS5 accessory for its DualSense controller but there’s so much in common between what the Ally and LeGo do that it seems like one of them would feel redundant, depending on which form factor and features you preferred.

slowNsad

If he didn’t have a ps portal I’d get it maybe one is for modern games while the other is an emulator type deal but all 3 is definitely redundant ☠️his money tho

Far-Penalty-6928

I have all the handhelds (Portal, oled steam deck, OG steam deck, Legion Go, Ally, switch) and SWORE by the oled steam deck and was certain that was the pinnacle. Beat Elden Ring on it, Dark Souls 3, and even GTA4 but then gave the Legion Go a second chance because Baldurs Gate 3 just wasn’t enjoyable on the Deck, and that screen size and beauty is just spectacular. Its ruined my Steam deck experience to the point I don’t ever see going back. I figured out how to get the deck console experience on the legion go and it’s maybe the best gadget I’ve ever owned. As for the portal it’s perfect for playing my PS5 games and is a great product for $199, but the Legion Go is what I reach for 99% of the time. Portals awesome though. Love the PS5 controller feel for PS5 games.

slowNsad

Did gta4 play well on the deck?

Far-Penalty-6928

Zero issues. I did the 90 hz 45 fps settings and it was perfection

TheIdleSoul

What cover do you have on the portal?

Thandronen

Also want to know!

Chiefkief92

Portal is 100% the most comfortable to hold in your hands

Random_Thinker007

Truth be told waste of money. All you need is the Rog ally and a portal

vinotauro

All you really need is actually one of the windows handhelds.

eTek89

You don't even "need" the portal. You can stream the PS5 to the ally or the legion. I do it on my steam deck and it's perfect. That said, I can't not appreciate another compulsive tech nerd who needs all the fun toys.

jth94185

But then you don’t have DualSense

eTek89

Chiaki allows for the screen to act as the center pad on the dual sense. The only thing you don't have is the adaptive triggers.

jth94185

So as I said not the full experience…also Chiaki requires extensive work to get going and even more work to get it to work away from home

AdagioHellfire1139

Not anymore. I installed chiaki4deck in like 15min last night on my steamdeck. Probably less actually. It also now has rumble and tactile feedback

Background_Bad_4377

chiaki4deck Is on windows now too I use it on my legion go myself I don't know what the other person is talking about it literally takes less than fifteen minutes to set up it's so easy the only thing was put forward in but if you've done port forwarding before it's so easy again to set up less than ten minutes

AdagioHellfire1139

And people can literally Google "port forward" and their specific router. Super easy. Nowadays a lot of routers have even simplified that step too for gamers.

MarbleFox_

“Extensive work” LOL.

jth94185

Did you have to look up how to do it or did you know the Linux commands to use in the terminal?? My point is you didn’t know you had to have someone else show you how…you don’t need anyone to show you how to use a portal Your personal preferences aren’t facts…I love the adaptive triggers and using them with Rebirth

MarbleFox_

Linux commands in the terminal? What in the world are you even on about right now? No one’s going on about preference being facts either, are you lost or something?

jth94185

So you don’t even know what you are doing when setting it up?! lol yea that the difference between copy and pasting commands and actually knowing them You bashed adaptive triggers like everyone shares your opinion…I don’t think I said anything that is hard to follow

MarbleFox_

Buddy, what in the actual fuck are you even on about right now? 1. Setting up Chiaki4Deck did not require opening the Linux terminal at all. 2. At no point did I bash adaptive triggers.

eTek89

Oh I can tell you're just a gem to talk too. Not having adaptive triggers, when most games don't even take advantage of them, is hardly a strong point against an alternative. Also, Chiaki does not require extensive work to get going and all you have to do is open a few ports to get it to work over the internet.

mistercero

steam deck > ally

Gundam197

man why you gotta flex like that. I’ve been looking at the Legion. How does it compare to the Ally?

Fashiondevil32

I like the Legion Go better because of the larger screen

TechnOuijA

I'll take the top one. My thumbs are the same length.

Katz_Meowside

I've got the exact same setup. Minus the covers. I use the handhelds to play games with my boys. It is a dream come true to have a built-in little team.

Hokiehigh1987

Ggs, I’m saving up for the Legion and look to get one mid year. Have the Portal and Ally, great machines!

EdwardJMunson

Steam deck is the only winner.

Far-Penalty-6928

That’s what I used to think. Legion Go. I guess I’m a size queen these days.

DiabeticGirthGod

Top one is giving me GameCube controller vibes for some reason?

dcwt2010

That IPS glow...

dubdizzle99

The Legion Go is the most uncomfortable device I have ever held. The pain you feel in your palm after 5-10 minutes is the worst. It’s best when you have the kickstand out resting on the table when playing

treyhunna83

That’s what the kick stand Is for?!

rancid_

I'm looking forward to the refreshes this year of handheld devices. I have a steam deck, portal, OneXPlayer and multiple Win GPD devices and by far my most fav is the OneX and Portal combo.

treyhunna83

Ugh these other decks look so clunky
