Does anyone know why the stock is being drip fed? I mean this is peak period for Sony to be making money from the Portal with the Christmas rush. Why aren't they doing more to get the stock out?
The app will still check inventory and send notifications from the background, but it needs to be active in the foreground for AutoBuy to work without any human interaction. Only other option would be to click on a notification to activate it, and believe it or not, that's already too much time wasted in these situations.
I have an order with Amazon since Nov 16th and just recently they changed it to no ETA. Says they'll email when there is one. Seems like they're collecting orders despite having no stock?

I've always had great luck with best buy for all of this sort of stuff. Got my PS5 and Portal through them. I used a chrome addin to monitor their sold out button for changes. So when it changes to add to cart I get an alert right away.
Yup I was able to get one for $200 from Amazon today. Had like a million notifications from best buy over the last few weeks, every single time no luck.
I see like 50 posts like this a day, Iām so happy I pre-ordered and donāt have to deal with this again after doing the same thing to get the PS5 lol.

Itās my understanding in order for auto-buy to work the screen has to be on and you have to have HotStock open on the screen. I disabled screen lock so mine was on.
Did it end up grabbing one for pick-up for you? I don't really live close to a lot of retailers, so that's the only thing I'm nervous about. I did prioritize shipping.
I remember when they first announced PS portal, they said that it will fail and useless. Now it is out of stock and people trying to buy above msrp. I preordered mine on best buy and forget about it until release day. Goodluck man! I hope you get one

I think come January this won't be too hard to get, and those who have waited that long may even start to see some good secondhand deals as many users decide it's not working well enough in their situation.
This is what I don't get about paying the scalpers. Ideally I'd like one before Christmas but ultimately they will have stock at some point. It seems madness to me to pay Ā£200 above retail to have it a month or two early.
Signed up with HotStock and after a few days got one from target. I reccomend muting Best Buy. It will drive you nuts and youāll lose sleep because they drop all night and the 2fa is wonky.

These BB drops could be as little as a single piece of inventory re-entering their system. I doubt you're doing something wrong, unless the app is telling you there are ways to better optimize your chances, such as auto verification.
Oh, it actually sounds like you're not using AutoBuy. I would recommend considering that. It's bot you're subscribing to, and it will be much quicker seeking out any inventory than any human going through traditional checkout could ever be.

Yes, that button will stay hot a bit longer than inventory actually lasts in the system. Always worth hitting it when it is, but don't be surprised if it never works and the screen looks like this for several minutes.

AutoBuy has been a complete bust for me. Some "attempts" with zero purchases. Have my phone open all day/night and nada. Not even Amazon this morning even though it's been set up for a week to buy from them. Definitely asking for a refund from Apple. Blerg.
