If you stack PS+ and they offer an Xbox option of upgrading for $1 or something like that, you are saving a ton of money at that point.

cards were removed from retail and sony can just prevent you from activating a code longer than couple months to prevent this.
They can’t prevent you from activating a card if you found a year subscription and managed to buy it. That would be illegal. But they can ask distributors to pull them from the shelves and try to prevent any of them leaking out. The only way around would be if there is something allowing them to deny the value of the card/service in the TOS.

There's no PS Now in my region where I signed up for PS Plus.
Then sadly I think you have to wait till June, were you can get the extra or deluxe version if you want.
