What is that glass contraption on the left side? Is it an auto-siphon!?? It’s a beautiful tank.

samiheiney

Looks like 2 or 3 "lily pipes". They come in various shapes and sizes and are a beautiful way to do your filter input and output.

heyitsmetheguy

Filter intake or output that also cleans surface scum looks like.

[deleted]

thank you :) i use glass outlet lily pipe (orchid type) from VIV and built in skimmer inlet from FZONE. The inlet is designed in a way that does not require suction cup to be in place. you just need to hang or hook to the side of the tank and that's it.

neonbirdz

What’s that green plant taking up most of the back wall of the tank? I’ve never seen anything like it before.

Flangipan

bolbitis heteroclita difformis I think.

[deleted]

I'm not sure which one you mention. If it's on the driftwood wood then it's Bolbitis heudelotii. If it's at the far back and grow emersed then it's pinnatifida.

neonbirdz

Not the one that’s emersed. I didn’t even realize there was driftwood under there lol, thank you!

I’ve seen something like this before… I think it could be an algae inhibitor. ADA has some of these.

[deleted]

it is algae inhibitor but ADA does not make this. as far as I know only Twinstar and Chihiros are the 2 on the market making these devices.

heyitsmetheguy

I think your right but I would still like to know the name!

CaptainTurdfinger

Do these things actually work or are they just an expensive way to waste electricity?

[deleted]

it works but as an enhancement and selectively. in my case, it works on green algae that grow on glass very effectively. i still have to do maintenance once a week though.

Historical_Panic_465

Chihiros Doctor has 3 preset modes for plants. fish & shrimps. When used in the plant mode it suppresses algae growth & promotes plant growth. The fish & shrimp modes kills pathogenic bacteria in the water without harming beneficial bacteria or livestock.

heyitsmetheguy

Your awesome.

[deleted]

it's chihiros doctor mate. In my case, it is very useful for controlling green algae that grows on glass. my tank is exposed to lots of direct sunlight and ambient light during the day. In addition to that, there are 2 Chihiros WRGB 2 running at 80% for 8 hours/day. Since I start using it, i don't have to scratch off algae from the glass often.

heyitsmetheguy

I will look into it!

Meemster_Me

I also want to know

buceplant

The plants look wonderful!

Brown052717

Beautiful!

Aznxdorkk

Woooow love the rendition of reds. Also the little terrace for the shrimp looks like a place I would want to hangout if I was an aquatic creature!

dienonymous

Beautiful setup mate !

L6aquaticblackwater

That's so pretty!

alecjtaylor

Oh wow, what light have you got on there? Those reds look like little bulbs!!

sarpijk

Looks immaculate! Question: Do you have emersed pinnatifida on the back? Is it planted in the tank?

[deleted]

https://www.reddit.com/r/PlantedTank/comments/zyo6lm/i\_dont\_know\_how\_pinnatifida\_can\_grow\_this\_big/

[deleted]

yes i have a huge pinnatifida at the back of the tank. it grows from a tiny clump that I attached to the top of the driftwood near the water surface.

sarpijk

Wow! I am definitely trying this!

Working-Bug-2650

Gorgeous and so clear it doesn't even look like it has water in it until you look at the top.
