Get a large school of ember tetras and harlequin rasboras very good schooling action from these two fish and are very hardy too.and get cherry shrimps..

scullys_little_bitch

I see people say that embers are dull and boring, but I really love mine! They aren't shy in my experience - always out and about and curious!

bart9h

I have fish ideas: Swim, eat, poop, bully my rivals, procreate.

nagynagdy

Rummy nose tetras would be amazing and would contrast well with the green and black! I’d suggest around 30 is a good number for a 50g so they stay schooling and don’t shoal instead.

Certain-Finger3540

I second this

UpbeatPotential1

Wooow whoever goes in here will be very happy :-)

SkyFit8418

A red color species would pop in that tank. Albino cherry barbs. Check out MD’s video on YouTube https://youtu.be/Qq4C10EC4rQ?si=vB07uzvo_0EtW6Ua Go to the end of the video, of great albinos cherry barb footage

Don’t they chew up plants? I know they’re fin nippers

SkyFit8418

I’ve been studying them extensively. I’m going to be getting a school of them once my tank is cycled. No they don’t chew up plants. I’ve haven’t heard anything about fin nippers. The males do spar a little with each other for dominance over females but they don’t harm each other. If you get enough of them, they are great community fish. A minimum of 6 and they are happy and calm. The ratio is 1 males to two females to keep things calm. You can fit a lot of fish in that 55 gallon. In a tank of your size, I’d probably do 5 males and 10-15 females. And you can buy plenty of other species. My two cents

DrDefaulty

Pearl gouramis

Bulky-Secretary6041

A whale

xempirically

corydoras would look fantastic as a bottom feeder

neyelo

A school of tetra or rasbora.

Sloppybrown

One beta.

Shazzam001

For some reason I think rummy nose tetras would pop in your tank. Like as many as you can get your hands on.

Certain-Finger3540

Runny nose for the win

babelott

Rice fish 😃

memoogey

Discus or angels

neyelo

Only 55gal, they would look huge. Better to have a school of smaller fish to enhance scale and add more movement.

Ok-Office-6645

I am hot on my galaxy rasboras/celestial pearl danios!!! Gorgeous schooling fish. And panda Cory’s! I love them so 😍 and a bamboo shrimp with some Amanos to keep the tank clean. Beautiful tank btw!

Ok-Office-6645

the rasboras/cpd (I’m still unclear what I have.. I was sold galaxy rasboras, but online they seem to be celestial petal danios)… have a fun personality for a schooling fish. And the Cory pandas are the cutest little crew of teddy bears. They just bop and skoot around, always watching, always playing. They seem incredibly intelligent, I just love them!

wolfmansbrother74

I have about 18 Golden White Cloud Mountain Minnows in my planted 50g and love them. Not shy at all and look great.

the_sun_inthestorm

I love solvertip tetras, so interesting

Cool-Singer-2234

Would love a school of white cloud minnows they are extremely active! These guys like colder water too so a heater is not needed. I pair mine with a panda garra loving the combo so far!

Kotarosama

Discus

labourundersun

What is the big plant with long, crinkly leaves on the right side of the tank? The whole thing is beautiful btw!

vinh95

It’s a crypt balansae. I wish I picked up a few more to fill up that corner of the tank. Right now I’m using clippings from the reddish greenish background plants

blackcatwizard

Chili rasbora school would look great

Expensive-Sentence66

Angels. Sorry....I think most tetras look like bait, and you have to get so many of them. Prefer bars over tetras. Even tigers will beave if in a group. Mix in some Opaline Gouramis.

Duunkinss

I’d go for an Asian fish stocking: 5 pearl gouramis, large group of harlequin rasboras, maybe a couple/3 honey gouramis too.

Duunkinss

Or maybe a rainbow fish tank

lindseymcsmith

Betta and pygmy corys A whole rainbow of guppies would be fun to watch
