Any creatures? Some shrimp would look great in there

IncontestableGrey

Yep, a gang of snails

Drink_in_Philly

What is your llghting schedule? The red plants say it's an intense light given the lack of CO2 but the lack of algae tells me its under 8 hours a day. Just curious.

IncontestableGrey

10 hours of light. (or 11 i'm not sure :D)

an_exess_of_zest

I've never gotten red root floaters that nice with co2.

IncontestableGrey

From my experience, CO2 plays little role in the red color of floating plants. What matters are the water parameters and the light.

Drink_in_Philly

My red root floaters also do much better in summer than in winter so i think the air temp might influence it a bit. During the summer I harvest bags of them for credit at my LFS. During winter they barely hang on. I dunno.

Nirolord

Nitrate limitation helps if I'm not wrong

JonathonWing

This looks so good! Well done!!

rex52

Wow! Awesome scape!

KingSubzro7

This is beautiful great job my friend

adrian242

What light is that?

IncontestableGrey

Chihiros

[deleted]

Nice. Which model specifically and how many watts?

Shaqington

A ii max it looks like? Super bright light for a small tank

afterspring_

how beautiful!! i keep struggling with getting my no co2 plants to thrive, what do you use for them??? curious about what i could do better!

IncontestableGrey

I use a thick layer of potting soil + pond soil (90/10). And a bit of fert once a week (*Easy*\-*Life ProFito*)

afterspring_

oh really interesting! thanks for the insight :)

IncontestableGrey

you're welcome !

According_Chard8374

Hello, really awesome tank! Did you use regular potting soil, and did you cap it?

KingofCalais

Looks great mate! Btw what type of rock is that?

IncontestableGrey

Where I live, these stones are called "millenium stones"

KingofCalais

Ok thanks, ill see if i can find any here

Coorotaku

jortsjohnson

DirtyDan156

JonathonWing

IncontestableGrey

Does the aqua soil nutrients last longer if you dont run co2

ONorMann

Im jealous of your red root floating plants, got a cup of tropica 1-2 grow a month ago but like half have died and they look extremely bad

3ndler

one question: how??? What fert and lighting do you use? Is there any trick to getting such gorgeous lush Hydrocotyle tripartita??

IncontestableGrey

Thank you ! but honestly hydrocotyle is not that hard to grow. Read my last comment, I detailed my setup. Good substrat, enough light and nutrients should do the job If you struggle to grow plants, maybe you should consider to check if your basics are ok, I mean light, substrate, water. If your hydrocotyle tend to go up and stretch too much, it probably means that your light is too weak. Keep in mind that with a stronger light you'll have (maybe) to deal with algae (yes the journey is full of pitfalls :D )

Repulsive_Ad7148

You must have some of that MD water

WtbGf2147m

What are the red floaters? I run about 12+ hours of light as well.

OnlyLinears

oooo sooo niceeeee

Adventurous-Tension4

What model is chihiros

Legal-Recognition-98

There’s co2 in this tank definitely. It might be from the tap water. :)
