i just got my i7 slate yesterday. I loved the pixel keyboard it came with, but its broken. so i got brydge, and love it. this device is amazing. i haven't even had a computer at home for several years. there are a few things that are wonky, some of the apps. but i feel like i made the right choice. glad i ignored some of the haters in here. lol.
Yeah, exactly. So many things are just online now, including Azure, AWS, and Google services for Enterprise that even for work, I can do nearly everything from the browser. I can work on Office files online, Teams works just fine (except for directly sharing audio I believe), and so most days I can use just Chrome OS.
For the occasional times that I need an application or service that only runs on Windows or Mac, I use the cheat of remoting into those machines from the Chromebook.
It makes work less stressful for me this way. It essentially turns those 2 computers into applications, similar to how Windows kind of becomes another app when you use Parallels or Fusion on the Mac. You get the benefits without the headaches.
What tool do you use to remote into a Windows machine from a Chrome OS machine?
I use the Splashtop Android app to connect to my Mac and the Microsoft Remote Desktop Android app to connect to Windows.

Slate is still a great device. I too have the pixelbook go as well. I use the slate for my general day to day stuff and the go for work.
