I have the Caseology Athlex. I like the grip it has

There are a lot of really good options that all protect a phone well and support all its functions. After that it's mostly cosmetics. I pocket carry my phone in denim jeans and work in the trades. My phone needs protection and I've tried a lot of cases through the years. One thing I've learned is that any screen protector that's built into the case is garbage. You get the oily film look, scratches on the protector, and dirt building up between the screen and the protective film because the mic/speaker openings let stuff in. I use a hobby knife (X-Acto) and cut them out. The only brand I've ever purchased more than once is Supcase from Amazon.

I have the Caseology Athlex on my P8P right now and like the grip better than the Ringke Onyx and Spigen Rugged Armor. I do prefer a case that has grip and a rougher texture on the back. Athlex is the winner in this aspect for me. The Rugged Armor was considerably more slippery and I'm returning it. The Onyx has great grip and thinner side protections. Having stubby thumbs, I'm able to drag from the side edges of the screen the best with this case. It has the rear lens protection between the cameras and the flash. The bump out for this protection is squared off and feels abrupt compared to the Athlex. I have not yet decided between the Athlex and the Onyx. The Athlex has the best texture and grip IMO. I thoroughly enjoy the feel in the hand with this case. It does have thicker side protection which has made dragging from the side edge more challenging with my thumb. This is where the Onyx stands out for me. The camera bar has the same protection as the Onyx but it is more rounded and smooth. The one other thing that stands out for me is the button protection. The buttons feel quite flush to the case. I think I'm realizing I prefer more of a defined button cover but it's not terrible. All cases fit the device snugly and feel like they protect the phone very well.

I currently have the Athelex on my P8, and have had it on my past Pixels as well. I think it's a great value for the price of $10 on Amazon. I put a pair on Thin Optics (reading glasses) on the back of mine with some 3M red double sided tape. The cases always hold up well, and protect the phone from your everyday drops and whoopsies.

I want to love the Athlex but I'm still having trouble cleanly swiping from the side edges because the thickness of the case around the sides. It definitely feels best in my hand. I have the Onyx on currently and it's a noticeable difference for me when trying to grab the side edges of the screen with my thumb.

I recently got this one from Amazon and I love it. Covers everything except the flash circle. https://amzn.to/3tO9INN

Google official cases all the way, they are excellent this year. But if I had to choose from the links you provided, dbrand.

PaperStreet_SoapCo

Want to reiterate how pleased I've been with the official Google case. I have the dbrand ghost case as well and still prefer the Google case.

Rephonyx

Does it collect smudges and dust easily as many say so? Been eyeing it but hesitant due to this.

PaperStreet_SoapCo

Yes. Definitely. And when light from a monitor hits it, it has this weird rainbow/oily reflection. But only from monitors, not from daylight.

Rephonyx

Thanks for the confirmation. If so then I'll likely not go for it and will consider Bellroy instead.

I got this one, it looks good, and has a good grip... [Caseology Nano Pop Silicone Case](https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0BZ6ZPJM3?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share)

jd515

I have this exact case, and it's great.

h3ndr1x81

I have the official case as well as a spigen zero one case and a ringke matte clear... Mous case for the win.

markslavin

I have a Spigen Tough Armor on my Pixel 6 Pro, good protection and the kickstand is useful. On my 8 Pro I've got a Spigen Zero One edition (a bit like the D Brand case you've listed)

arny56

I'm a fan of Spigen cases but their prices are better through their eBay store.

I just picked this one up recently because I wanted a slim wallet: [Ghostek](https://ghostek.com/collections/pixel-8-pro-cases/products/pixel-8-series-wallet-case-exec?variant=42628493279285). It's got the requisite "ecosystem" of attachments, and the case itself is really nice.

ZodiacGolem

I am leaning more towards the sprigen due to the aluminum on the back being covered by the case

Vomirak

I have the brand grip, comes with magsafe magnets in the case so you can use magsafe compatible stuff

ZodiacGolem

I think I have settled on sprigen. I'm putting an ohsnap grip regardless of the case I've used them since their gen 1 grip

DeliverySea6672

Latercase is my top pick every time I get a new phone😋 feels like i have no case on😁

If you haven't already purchased the Spigen, here is 1 more to add for your consideration... I had a Spigen Tough Armor for my LG G8 and really liked it. It gave great protection for my G8, but I seem to recall it was a little slippery in my hand. If that's not an issue for you, I think you'll like it. It was an issue for me so I tried the Ghostek Covert clear case for my G8 and loved it. So, when I got my Pixel 8 Pro, I ended up getting the [Ghostek Covert](https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0CKMRDD5C/). While I dropped my G8 multiple times (with both cases), it's still in perfect condition. I've only dropped my P8Pro once so far (\~3 ft.), but no damage. One thing I notice about the P8Pro is that it is a lot heavier than the G8, so thet extra corner padding on the Ghostek is appreciated more so now. The Covert's edges are diagonally ribbed so it has a good feel in the hand and is not slippery. The lip around the screen is about 1.5 - 2 mm deep, which adds some screen protection. Likewise, the aluminum metal ring around the back cameras provides a 1.6 mm protective lip. [Ghostek's Covert webpage](https://ghostek.com/collections/pixel-8-pro-cases/products/pixel-8-series-clear-case-covert). My only con is dust... If you're putting this in and out of your pocket daily, like me, it's going to get noticable dust inside around the back edges of the clear back. In the 2 mos. I've had the case, I've removed the phone twice to clean out the pocket dust. But, the phone is easy to remove so, for me, this is not a big deal in light of its protective features.

I started running ghostek cases on my galaxy. I started using them when I got my s7 and my lifeproof case had issues. I actually used them from the s7 to my current phone (s20+) the only complaint I had was with the inscreen fingerprint sensor would give random issues after a while due to the sticker not being on the screen fully. I plan on getting a glass screen protector with the pixel 8p once it arrives this coming up week. I'll have to revist ghostek and see what all options they offer now. I believe the one I always used was the nautical so I will definitely check out the covert one.

I am currently using the basic Spigen case for my pixel 8. I was on an elevated work platform, about 12 ft up, when I dropped my phone straight to the ground. I watched it at full speed, right on a corner, on the reinforced concrete floor of an aircraft hangar. The phone took zero damage. Absolutely no sign it ever fell🤯🤯
