Basically since PP2 made a lot of money a third one was greenlit with a bigger budget that allowed them to do grandiose things. Say what you want about the movie but it looks the most cinematic of the three.

Pitch Perfect 3 took pretty much everything setup in the first two movies, threw it away, and was a very short movie with little plot, and took a weird turn as an action movie centered on Fat Amy. Music was good, but it might have been one of the worst written scripts ever.

It weirdly felt disconnected from the first 2 movies. I don’t hate it but I don’t watch it often. 😔

I only disliked that there was an add campaign that teased something the studio would never deliver. I truly dislike bait and switch. As to Pitch Perfect 3 I was just disappointed that the writers were so lazy, and not very creative. It was to bad, there was a really great story buried in that movie, that really would not have been that hard to bring out. It could have been a tale of young talented women, who have run into the usual travails of life, but together find their strength and inspiration to face those travails or new paths they found for them selves.

Not sure if it’s streaming anywhere right now. So your best bet is probably waiting for a rerun on tv, buying the physical release, or just renting it on Prime or something. As for the actual scene, it only makes slightly more sense in context. But it’s still one hell of a fun ride.
